OC commissions!
Masterlist here!
Theatre is starting to piss me off because I was always told by my vocal coach to always say yes to any role on your sheet because some directors will see role only people as ego driven. So I always said yes to be a team player and not leave a bad impression but I’m pretty sure I just got bumped out of a lead role because I said yes to everything so they bumped me down to make the girls who put role only happy. I’m so frustrated

“I’m not gonna let you fuck me just because you think I’m upset.” Hero said.
“I’m offering-” Villain shrugged off their shirt. “You’ve had a hard day, and sometimes I just like to see you under me. It’s a win win.”
Hero scoffed. "You’re a freak."
A hand danced across Hero’s shoulder. "Only for you.”
Hero’s eyes traced Villain’s figure as they disappeared into their closet.
It had been a rough shift, with superhero breathing down their neck, and the newest intern spilling coffee over their shirt. Their workload wasn’t getting any lighter and the deadlines were getting closer by the day. It was a nonstop tsunami of meetings, fights, and wounds bandaged by Villain’s gentle hand.
Hero flopped onto the bed. They were tired of drowning. Tried of suffocating and surviving on instant noodles.
“You wanna tell me what happened?” Villain asked, sweatpants dangling low on their hips.
“Nah.”
A hand dipped under Hero’s shirt and tugged at the collar. “Did your boss discover these?”
Hero slapped a hand to their neck, searching for the dark spots that Villain had left them last time. Their cheeks reddened, their mind racing back to Villain’s lips on their neck. Slow opened mouth kisses against their pulse-
“No, my blouse covers it.” Hero grumbled.
But Villain knew that. Knew how Hero liked their shirts- especially their work shirts- to always have a high collar. Or how Hero liked their coffee, or their meat cooked, or how they liked to be touched from head to toe.
Their eyes glanced over at their partner, drinking in the sight of their upper body muscles. They looked away when Villain laughed.
“You’re an asshole,” Hero frowned. “You know how I like you.”
“Do I know that you’re most attracted to me in a more domestic light in sweats rather than a suit? Maybe.” Villain put a hand on their shoulder, pushing them down onto the bed. “Do I know how you like to be taken care of?”
Their hand went to rub circles into Hero’s hip in a slow, lax manner. Their mind focused on Villain’s hands and their hands alone. The warmth, the temptation of them.
Villain leaned in. “That’s a question, Hero.”
“Yes,” Hero said.
Their partner chuckled, hand tracing down to their knee, toying with the sensitive flesh at Hero’s thigh.
“Do you want this baby,” Villain asked. “Do you want me to take care of you?”
Hero nodded feverishly, whispering Villain’s name like a prayer when their hand slipped slower. Villain started with Hero’s pajama pants, and Hero ripped off the rest as Villain got rid of their sweats.
“What do you need,” Villain whispered, fingers tracing down Hero’s neck. “Tell me what to do.”
It was a good night for Hero after having an endless supply of shitty nights, letting Villain explore their body until they were too tired. They fell asleep in Villain’s arms, body relaxed and covered in the fluffiest blanket.
“You can’t assess me,” Hero mumbled, letting their head droop awkwardly on the pillow.
“Who said I was assessing you?” Villain’s gloved hand came to press down on their chest. “Does that hurt?”
Hero squirmed, but couldn’t help the smile that played on their lips. “You’re literally assessing me right now.”
“Dont I have the right to visit my partner in the hospital?” Villain moved their hand to Hero’s right shoulder. They pressed down. “Does that hurt?”
“A little,” Hero grimaced.
A faux box fan engulfed the room, courtesy of Hero’s iPad that sidekick had brought when they’d first been admitted. The lights were dimmed and curtain closed, and if it hadn’t been for the clock and the patient information whiteboard, Hero would have had no idea what the date or time was. The days had started blurring together after the crash.
Villain hummed, sweeping some of Hero’s hair out of their face. There was a part of Hero that knew this was a vicious attempt to get Hero asleep while also getting to do their own examination of them at the same time. Villainy must have paid the medical pills quite well.
Hero curled their arms around themselves in a pathetic attempt to warm up. “You can’t assess me. Bias and all that.”
When their partner was silent, trading words for pressing down at their sides, Hero allowed their eyes to slip close.
“You don’t trust your nurses? They said they left their findings in my chart.”
“Of course I trust them,” Villain leaned forward to kiss Hero’s temple. “But I think it’s only natural to want another pair of eyes when it’s your partner.”
Hero opened their eyes when Villain’s warmth disappeared. They watched as Villain grabbed a blanket they had left on the bedside chair and draped it over Hero. Hero let themselves lean completely into Villain’s touch as their hand glided down their cheek all the way down to their collarbone, massaging at the collarbone. Villain cooed.
“Oh my baby,” a kiss on Hero’s lips. “I’m gonna make you all better huh.”
They broke for air. “Won’t they know you’re in here stalling?”
“I have my ways, being a doctor is only my day job after all.”
“It’s night.” Hero deadpanned.
“You’re at my mercy. Watch what you say.” Villain pinched Hero’s cheeks together, laughing as Hero tried to swat their hands away.
Villain reached for the tv remote, turning on the Disney channel for some background noise. Colorful puppies danced across the screen, racing to save lives much like their partner did. They watched as Villain took another look at their vitals and glanced at the watch and then the door. A burning pain spread through Hero’s throat. Sleeping was scary. It was scary being alone while unconscious. Alone and unaware and unable to do anything if they started slipping away from their injuries while under sleep’s domain.
It was a risk Hero wasn’t ready to take alone.
A warm hand settled on their Hero’s shoulder, kneading the skin.
“You’re gonna be okay baby. I gotta go check on my other patients,” Villain grabbed their hand. “You’re hooked up to so many machines that will alert me if you need anything at all.”
Tears burned Hero’s eyes.
“It feels like I’m drowning,” they whispered. “I sleep for an hour and then i woke up and I can’t breath, and my throat burns.”
The anxiety was always all consuming when night time came. The true hell that was the accident catching up to the Hero. They swallowed in an attempt to fix the itchiness of their throat.
“I’ll be on the floor most of the night, you’ll always have me.” Villain announced.
Hero nodded, trying to steady their shaky legs.
“I love you,” Villain said, kissing their cheeks.
“I love you, see you tomorrow.”
Villain squeezed their hand. “See you tomorrow my love.”
“You must be a business major”

“You’re no doctor,” Hero remarked, as the Villain’s hand remained over their pounding heart.
“I’m pretty well versed in you,” Villain hummed. “I don’t need a medical license to tell when you’re panicking.”
Hero’s face set into a grimace, watching Villain’s face as their hand traveled from their heart to their chest it, rubbing circles into their burning skin. The constraining tightness on Hero’s throat began to ease. Villain’s other hand reached to Hero’s jacket, peeling away the fabric at their shoulders. Hero took the initiative and shrugged off the rest of it, letting Villain hang it on the coat rack. Their enemy’s hand found their shoulders again, rubbing up and down.
“Go sit down, I’m gonna get you something to drink.” Villain said, disappearing into the kitchen.
It took Hero a minute to find the energy to move, dragging their feet against tiled floor. The Villain’s apartment smelled like vanilla and cinnamon. They plopped themselves onto the couch
The entire place was clean, precise. The model image of perfection and the success of someone who had their shit together. Hero thought it was unfair how sleek and put together their living room was, considering how they put the city into disarray every Friday night.
Hero jolted in their seat as something fuzzy landed in their lap. Their hands coiled around blue blanket as Villain sat down on ottoman in front of them. Hero’s eyes drifted to their legs, how they were slotted against each other.
Villain placed a glass of water down next to their feet. The weight of their gaze fully focused on them always made Hero squirm.
“Can I see the wound?” Villain asked.
“No-“ Hero snapped.
Their hands curled around their middle. Months ago Hero had gotten in what the nurses called ‘a brutal and severe car crash’. Not as Hero, with their charming smile and witty comebacks, but as civilian. Civilian who lacked charm in any sense of the word and couldn’t differentiate a disagreement from a fight. It had been a long recovery process, the surgery leaving three open wounds on Hero’s stomach.
It had been several long weeks in the hospital, wandering around empty halls with a walker and debating whether they needed to shout for a barf bag or not. Weeks of laying in the most uncomfortable bed and thin blanket, lodging Cheerios down their throat when they were finally able to eat again.
When they were discharged, they still had one wound at the bottom of their stomach that had yet to close.
It had been an endless nightmare that didn’t end when they were finally able to return home. Their in home nurse came every Wednesday to check on Hero’s wound. Just another time when Hero’s autonomy was compromised. When they heard the same answer again and again.
It’s healing, but awfully slow.
Any acts of heroism had been postponed. Not until Hero stopped flinching at the idea of a blow landing on their midsection. Until Hero’s stomach stopped aching when the button of their jeans slid down onto the wound.
“I know it’s not infected,” Hero rushed, voice raising in volume. “I know it’s fine, I’m not letting you-“
Villain titled their head. “You said no.”
Hero’s mouth hung open in an o, slight shock overtaking their system.
“It’s your choice. I won’t look if you do want me too.” Villain affirmed.
It was strange, being told that they had a choice, that they could decide how they wanted their treatment to go. Hero threw their hands up to cover their face and sighed.
“What happened?” Their enemy asked.
Villain, who was the only one who knew Hero’s civilian identity. They were the first person Hero saw after discharge, lodging on Hero’s family kitchen table with boxes of Chinese takeout in a uniform line, as if Hero was having guests over. Hero’s first meal after discharge had been chow mein and honey walnut shrimp, and a huge serving vegetables that Villain kept shoveling onto their plate.
“I moved back in with my parents for a bit, while I figured out how to pay the medical bills and insurance.” Hero stared at the tv behind Villain’s head. “Um, and it’s just been shit. Like absolute shit.” We just keep yelling at each other. It’s fight after fight. My mom and I went at it pretty bad tonight. She told me to get the fuck out. And I did.”
Villain let them ramble. “It’s not gonna get better. We’ve crossed a lie, and this is it. We’re done. You know, things went from one thing-”
A hand rested on Hero’s knee. Their voice went silent.
“You don’t need to give me an explanation, not tonight.” Villain eyed their suitcase at the door. “I’m just glad you knew you could come to me.”
Hero nodded.
“I have a guest room, but you’re welcome to stay in mine if you like,” Hero’s eyes flickered up. “You can stay as long as you like.”
They watched as Villain stood, grabbing Hero’s suitcase and moving towards what must have been the guest room. They turned when Hero didn’t follow.
This was a very bad idea. Hero couldn’t burden another person with themselves and all the rot they carried with them. It was their responsibility to deal with their own pain, their responsibility to lick their own wounds and show up in public with a smile.
They were a liar, a manipulator, a horrible person. Words and titles that their mother had labeled them every night for the past week. How funny, Hero thought, they could save lives, put out burning fires, but couldn’t even save their relationship with their mother. It had been their own mother who yelled and screamed at them for being the worst patient in the world all because the trauma from the accident threatened to swallow them whole.
Oh, how scary it had been to be alone there. And yet their mother had left them anyway, because she was tired of their bickering, tired of Hero’s fears and anxieties over treatment.
“I’m difficult to deal with,” Hero stared.
Villain laughed as they paused in the doorway, eyes rolling. “Please. I think I can deal with you wanting takeout more than once a week.”
They stood, following Villain to the door with the purpose to argue. Hero wanted to bite back, but there words died out on their tongue as they peered into the room. Soft and silky sheets with bedding that looked so positively comfortable.
“Thanks.” Hero murmured.
“Mhm,” Villain hummed. “Bathroom down the hall and to the left, and my room is to the right. Holler if you need anything.”
“Yeah, sure.” Hero nodded.
Villain disappeared after squeezing Hero’s shoulder; hand resting right on Hero’s collarbone for just a second too long. Hero found their body turning towards.
“Goodnight.” Villain called from the darkness.
Hero stared into the darkness, as if they could summon Villain back with their gaze alone. “Goodnight.”
Let me know if you want a part 2 :)

Hero and Villain snippet vampire edition ;)!
Villain had shrieked when Hero pointed the spear at them, shuddered back into the cave they had been calling home. A spear that had been forged together with rope, a stick, and a knife that was so silver that Hero could see their reflection dancing in its light. A weapon that they should have died with, but the vampire littering the cave’s floor had been a shriveling mess since they’d arrived. That morning, the ocean had roared at Hero’s feet, and when they tried to dip her boot in for good luck, it splashed all the way up to their knees as if it was trying to pull them back itself. Now, as the afternoon sun burned through their back, they watched the ocean lap at their feet, as if it wanted to ease their nerves. Hero tightened their grip on the blood jug and walked to the front of the cave, and tapped the point of their makeshift weapon on the rocks.
It took a few minutes, but the vampire walked out from their make-shift castle. Villain stood in the darkness, watching the afternoon sun behind Hero, muted in its color. And then their eyes landed on the bag in her hands, and he stiffened.
“Yours?” Villain asked, then paused. “Animal?”
“Mine.” Hero said and moved the jug slightly behind their back. “Can’t you smell it?” They asked.
Villain finally broke the trance the blood had them in and stared at them. Their nose wrinkled. “Yes.”
Extending the spear in front of Villain, Hero moved slowly towards them. Villain understood quite quickly and took a couple of steps back into the cave. When Hero reached a place where the light no longer streamed through, they placed the jug down. Villain waited until Hero had backed up to retrieve it. Villain picked it up and moved the jug up to their lips.
Hero sneered. “I don’t want to see it.”
Villain paused. A look of discontent passed over their face, eyebrows pinched together. They slowly turned around.
Villain drank like a man who’d been lost at sea for days. They gulped it down with rapid speed, pausing once to regain their breath, which Hero only knew by their soft exhales; they never lowered the jug. As Villain lapped up the remaining blood, Hero’s arms felt as light as air. Hero tilted their chin down to cover their neck. When Villain turned, their eyes lingered on Hero’s neck but also their tilted chin, and Villain took a step back.
