So I recently deleted my intro post and here’s why. I typically don’t post personal things, but I figured I owed people here an apology. I was using Asian names that belonged to my kins with no connection to the culture they came from without knowing or understanding how disrespectful this was. Since I am not Asian, I have stopped using said names. The only Asian name I will continue to use from now on is the Chinese name my Chinese teacher gave to me after several years of learning under them when I am speaking Chinese. I know that some Asian people are okay with this, but I figured it’s better to be safe than sorry in this situation as I am not an Asian person. I will try my best to be better in the future.
Aeslesbian: aesthetic attraction in a lesbian way (a woman only experiencing aesthetic attraction to other women, an enby only experiencing aesthetic attraction to women, etc)
Aeslesboy: aesthetic attraction is a lesboy way (a multigender person who only experiences aesthetic attraction to women, a genderfluid person only experiencing aesthetic attraction to women, etc)
This was a gender I made a bit back, and I finally made some flags for it today! Coining post is here. The coined definition was: “Yarngender (xenogender, multigender, idingender, hoardeangender): a gender that feels like a huge tangled ball of yarn that comes in many different colors (genders). One can untangle the yarn into individual genders but it will eventually re-tangle into it’s original messy ball. When separating a gender or genders from the mess, one might distinctly feel that gender(s). It takes conscious thought to unravel the yarn most of the time, but it will sometimes unravel itself into a specific gender(s). It may be frustrating to work with, so one may just ignore it. It can never completely be unravel, so a part of it will always be undiscovered. Whenever a new gender is found, it adds to the yarn ball, making it even bigger. Even when someone no longer identifies as a gender, it can be hard to truly get rid of it because of how tangled all the genders are.”

I know I already coined something today, but I’m going through my gender list to A: get references for everything and B: to make sure all my labels still fit, and I keep finding genders I coined a while back so I’m re-coining them all now. I’m also coining some new genders I couldn’t find anywhere. If any of these already exist feel free to tell me /srs! I’d appreciate if someone could make a flag(s) for the ones that don’t already have one /nf.
Edit: June 3rd 2026 - Added link to where I found the age regression flag.
Yarngender (xenogender, multigender, idingender, hoardeangender): a gender that feels like a huge tangled ball of yarn that comes in many different colors (genders). Even when someone no longer identifies as a gender, it can be hard to truly get rid of it because of how tangled all the genders are.
The alternate yarngender flags can be found here (this is just my favorite flag)!
Genderpuzzle (multigender, hoardeangender, xenogender): a multigender where any new gender you hear about is sort of like a puzzle piece and your current gender is a puzzle, made up of all the genders you already have. When you hear about a new gender, your mind immediately tries to fit it into your puzzle. It might not fit and you just know it’s not right, like trying to take a piece from another puzzle and jam it into yours, or it might fit perfectly, like it was just the right piece you needed. It also might be that you know that it might fit, and it doesn’t feel wrong, but it doesn’t feel quite right either, like a puzzle piece you don’t know where fits yet, so you note the gender and put it off to the side. You may feel compelled to complete your “puzzle”, or it could feel like it will never be completed and it is always missing a few pieces, which can never be filled.
Shellgender (xenogender, idingender): a gender where one hides their real gender behind their agab. When revealing their true gender under the “shell”, it may feel weak and fragile, and any hating on it makes it retreat farther back into the shell. When this gender is alone however, it may feel strong and powerful, it simply is too scared of being called invalid to come out of its shell around others
Genderscavenger (hoardeangender, xenogender): a gender where you take parts of genders you like and “scavenge” them, taking them and adding them to your hoard, even if you don’t totally identify with that gender.
Lazycat (catgender, xenogender, idingender): a catgender that feels lazy or imperceptible unless provoked
Ficklecat (catgender, xenogender, idingender): a gender that is as fickle as cat, coming and going as it pleases without caring about what the owner (person who identifies as this gender) wants. Genderfluid but related to cats
Genderlittle (neurogender, exclusive gender): a gender that has to do with, is impacted by, or is simply connected to one’s age regression/age dreaming/being a little. It may also feel small, soft, and/or relate to the word “little”. It can be used on it’s on or as an umbrella term for all genders that have to do with being an age regressor/age dreamer/little.
Flag (design by me, using the agere flag’s colors - I got the flag from this post):
Littlelexic (xenogender, -lexic): a gender that has to do with the word “little”. Isn’t exclusive to age regressors/age dreamers/littles, but made with them in mind.
Flag (design from the -lexic flag template, using the agere flag’s colors - I got the flag from this post):
Kincharic (xenogender, -charic, kingender, exclusive gender): when you identify as a “-charic” gender because you kin the character.
Stargazergender (scenegender, xenogender): a gender under the scenegender umbrella that feels/looks like a beautiful and clear night sky, no light pollution or clouds in sight, just pure unfiltered starlight and a full moon as one stargazes.
Wrote this down a year+ ago, but never coined it anywhere.
It’s definition is: a xenogender in which one’s gender wants to be cute but isn’t, instead feeling weird/or like a thing, and when the gender trys to identity with cute genders it just feels like it’s faking as much as it wants to be cute. The individual might feel connected to cute genders but be unable to identify with them, try to use one but only get frustrated, or only feel connected to cute genders that in some way also are weird/a thing. It is a gender that is related to being cute but isn’t.
Flag (also by me):
The pink represents feeling cute/presenting cutely/having a cute gender/etc, and the black represents feeling fake/unsatisfied/wrong/like a thing/etc. The flower is just there because. It’s vaguely inspired by the enbycute flag.
So I coined this pair of genders a while back on a different platform, but it doesn’t archive well and I want to add them to a wiki, so I’m putting them here so I can archive them. They are based on the gender musegender and are subsets of that gender. They are therefore both considered to to be under the genderfluid, mutogender, and artgender categories. I’m just going to be quoting what I said in the original coining for this, but I do want to add that for both the definitions, although the original text says that one’s base gender can’t be male/masculine or female/feminine, I want to change this in the re-coining of the term, so you can be a museboy who’s base gender is male/masculine or a musegirl who’s base gender is female/feminine. They were coined on September 23, 2025. The flags are all also mine. I’ve since deleted the original coining post, so you won’t be able to find it anywhere, as I no longer use that account. Feel free to add them to wikis, just credit me!
Museboy:
“Museboy is basically musegender, but mostly/only for
characters with a male/masculine or nonbinary/neutral gender. So basically they would mostly/only take (the) gender(s) of a male/masculine or nonbinary/nuetral character. Their "base" gender would therefore NOT be male/masculine.”
Musegirl:
“Musegirl is basically musegender, but mostly/only for characters with a female/feminine or nonbinary/neutral gender. So basically they would mostly/only take (the) gender(s) of a female/feminine or nonbinary/neutral character. Their "base" gender would therefore NOT be female/feminine.”
Hello, Tumblr. I've never posted here, only lurked. But this is one of the most important things in the world to me, and I honestly need to ask you for help. Please reblog if you can.
This will be a long post. It will be summarized with a TLDR at the end, including ways that you can help.
With over 9,200 pages, we are the biggest collection of gender identities on the Internet, especially the biggest source that is readily available. We are a community that has existed since 2009, and has taken off in terms of growth in the last few years.
Today, Fandom decided to close the Gender Wiki. We were given absolutely no warning, and they've only given us a two-week deadline to move the entire wiki to a new host, which we are utterly unprepared to do. The download would also not include any of the 17,000+ images on the Gender Wiki, many of which do not exist anywhere else on the Internet.
Here is a link to the post Fandom staff gave us today, and a paraphrased summary of it below:
https://gender.fandom.com/f/p/4400000000000132176
Fandom staff says that they won't continue to host our wiki because it "spreads harmful misinformation". They believe we have gone too far in "positioning everything as a gender identity", referring to xenogenders. They mention pages with xenogenders referring to suicide/self-harm and violence --- which we, the staff members, were /already/ in the process of deleting before this notice was given to us. They decided that the best solution was not to ask us to delete those pages, or even delete the pages themselves, but instead to remove our entire database.
There are many other wikis on Fandom with much worse references to violence than the Gender Wiki, which Fandom appears to have no problem with whatsoever.
I cannot express enough that this is erasure, and it will absolutely negatively affect the LGBTQ+ community to not have this treasure trove of information readily available.
I am an admin on the Gender Wiki, and I can assure you that our entire staff team is already trying to appeal to Fandom staff. I'll add any updates if they decide to respond to us, but they have no yet given staff any more information than the above
PLEASE help in any way you can. Reblog, spread awareness, or sign this petition if you have a Fandom account. Archive any Gender Wiki pages, especially ones that don't have pages elsewhere, with the Wayback Machine or alternatively archive.is, or even write posts about them here or on other sites. Please help us save this information. It can't possibly be done this quickly without help.
TLDR: Fandom staff decided that, in two weeks, they will close the Gender Wiki, the biggest gender resource on the Internet. They gave us no warning. It will be impossible to save all of the information on the wiki. Please reblog or sign this petition if you have a Fandom account. Help save the data by archiving pages here or here. Post about this. Help spread awareness.
Heads up my trans and queer friends, do not participate in this study. Spread the word to stay away;
Skeet from Alejandra Caraballo that says: If you see this, don't participate. It's a rigged study by Lisa Littman and unethical researcher J. Michael Bailey meant to undermine access to care. Spread the word.
The reason this is a “re-coining” is that I originally coined this on the gender wiki but it’s being shut down (if you have a fandom account here is our petition to stop it: https://gender.fandom.com/f/p/4400000000000132189) [EDIT: this has since been closed and the gender wiki has been moved to: https://gender.wikioasis.org/wiki/Gender_Wiki]. Genderplushie/Plushiegender: a xenogender related to stuffed animals. It can be the way they look, feel, or anything else. It can be related to a specific stuffed animal or stuffed animals in general. It can also be related to the comfort stuffed animals bring, childhood, nostalgia, soft pastel colors, childlike innocence, childlike wonder, childhood bedrooms, nighttime, the night sky, happy dreams, sweet dreams, the moon, stars, darkness, soft shadows, sleepiness, lullabies, white noise, comforting silence, and/or sleeping. It can also be used as a kingender for people who are plushiekin! Flag meaning: The dark blue represents nighttime/darkness/the night sky, the pale pink represents happy and sweet dreams, the pale blue-purple represents sleepiness/sleeping, the minty color represents nostalgia/childhood/innocence/wonder, the yellow represents the stars/the moon, and the red represents protection/comfort/love from the stuffed animals. The white bunny on the first flag is to represent luck and guidance. (I didn’t make the flag thinking about most of this, I just decided that these are the meanings of the colors after, except for the dark blue and the bunny).
