@karatebird
I love thinking I'm a hater and then meeting a real hater and going wow that does not look fun actually. Going back to my lukewarm hater ways. Performative haterdom. I couldn't name five hater bands.
you cannot convince me illegal immigration is a real problem and I'm sick of pretending it is. yk when you were a kid and you got mad at your sibling for crossing an imaginary line that you drew in the car? that's what you're doing right now except you're actually killing people over it
everyone shut up and look at this
she asks me what dr pepper tastes like and i say not everything tastes like something else
love the library. there's no risk. you can take out a book and go "wow this sucks" and just give it back. and when you do that you're still making the library's Number Go Up so you'll be able to roll the dice on even more books. all for the low low price of free/you already paid for it with your tax money so you might as well use it
Something on my mind is how there was a fucking year and a half of post-9/11 consent-manufacturing before we invaded Iraq. With Venezuela, there hasn't been any of that. There have been some paranoid jabs on campaign trails, a little bit of half-hearted news media shit, internet rumors, all that, there's been blowing up random civilians on the water. But there hasn't been anywhere near the same degree of justification that was needed for past illegal wars. They're just doing it. There's no illusion of consent. They don't feel that's necessary. They don't care about the consequences. This is a nightmare.
Realize that the USA bombing Venezuela is not the result of pointless evil or the desire to simply cause chaos and destruction. These attacks are planned to the letter, that is the result of being under the boot of an imperial empire that seeks to exploit the natural resources of another country; more specifically Latin America. As much as people say that Trump is a uniquely bumbling idiot, he’s operating just as those before him have in the past (see Obama and his drone strikes on the Middle East).
The USA is functioning as intended. This isn’t the first time the government has attempted to or has staged a coup in order to gain control.
IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE (1946) • JIMMY STEWART as George Bailey and LIONEL BARRYMORE as Mr. Potter
If anyone's wondering, yes, this movie did get flagged by the FBI at the time for "communist sentiment" or similar
if karl marx was born today he would be a baby. and it would be his birthday
This poll is referring specifically to roads that are part of the US Interstate Highway System, not just any numbered highways.
US residents: how do you (or people in your area) commonly refer to the local INTERSTATE HIGHWAY(S)? Assume this is casual conversation among people familiar with the area (not formal/professional/broadcast speech)
Haven't lived in USA or don't live near an interstate enough to talk about it
"Interstate Number" (e.g., "Today traffic sucked on Interstate Seven")
"THE I-Number" (e.g., "Today traffic sucked on the I-Seven")
"I-Number" (e.g., "Today traffic sucked on I-Seven")
"THE Number" (e.g., "Today traffic sucked on the Seven")
"Number" (e.g., "Today traffic sucked on Seven")
Some other phrase/name I will explain
"Interstate Seven" was used as an example because it does not exist.
recency bias is worse now than it ever has been before
literally why is gerrymandering legal. why is america the stupid idiot country.
This could be counterproductive if people actually vote. Everywhere. We can blame the system and politicians all we want but if people don’t get off their ass to vote correctly or just vote in general that would probably solve a good chunk of our problems.
enthralled at the interpretation of the world you have. the best way to vote out a system that exists to suppress votes and bottleneck specific populations from being heard is to vote harder. tell me more.
There's a certain kind of democrat whose whole politics is basically "if the entire population just acted in a way they've never acted before on a level that borders on the miraculous, we could win without changing anything else about how democrats govern or campaign!" and they think that's not only a useful insight, but a good justification for rejecting literally any alteration of their ideology, their strategy, or even suggestions that (on the occasions they have power) they alter the rigged system that requires such miracles in the first place.
When your pants tear, where do they usually give?
at the butt seam
at the knees
at the fastener (zipper, button, the elastic, whatever keeps the pants up)
somewhere else, please elaborate in the tags
I don't wear pants until they tear
This is "my pants don't tear they chaffe open in the inner thigh" erasure
