Yesterday someone I follow on Twitter shared a heartbreaking post and an important reminder. Ā A reminder that mental health awareness is very important and a cause that should be important to us all. Ā This was what he shared: -
In my reply to him, I thanked him for sharing. I made the point that to many people do not understand how those suffering from a mental health issue struggles to cope with their demons on a daily basis. Ā There is a misconception that mental health issues, let's say depression, is something one can just snap out of. Ā Nothing is further from the truth, you can't just snap out of a depressive state.
I speak of this issue yet, I still do not fully understand it, what I do understand is that those suffering/dealing with the issue should not be shunned, they should not be treated as though they want to be where they are.
āKindness is a language which the deaf can hear and the and the blind can seeā
"Unexpressed emotions will never die. They are buried alive and will come forth later in uglier ways."
"A wise therapist taught me that anger is the emotion we snatch up to avoid less comfortable feelings - confusion, fear, sadness."
