I think when most people picture “tornado” they picture

When a lot of midwestern tornado warnings are for twisters more like

And like, obviously some are bigger and dangerous, and they can obviously still do damage but a lot of times they drop down in fields, or the majority of the damage done by the littler ones (the ones we like to go watch) is to trees and stuff people leave outside like trash cans and lawn chairs and stuff. Tornado warnings around me go off maybe a couple of times a year, but they don’t always mean an actual tornado touches down (it’s often just high winds). I only remember 1 in the last maybe 5 years or more that actually did Real Damage and even then, it only damaged like 3 houses and upturned some cars… and that was so unusual.

I think the majority of us are not out watching F5′s roll down the street because like 90% of tornadoes are F0 or F1 twisters, or even EFU which means there was a tornado by the evidence but no one even saw it. So like YES we are out on our porches looking for them, but also it’s not nearly as scary as most people that aren’t from here are probably imagining.
