A zine about neurodiversity and queer identity: Print edition coming soon!
Stephen King is such a bizarre author to read because his books invoke some deeply thought provoking discussions alongside emotionally devastating and disturbing horror. But then you'll read phrases like "he went weewee in his pants" significantly more times than you'd expect for an adult horror novel.
I love that Supergiant's answer to "how can we possibly follow up on the first game's rebellious failson protagonist" is to make the sequel's protagonist an earnestly dorky honour-student-with-impostor-syndrome type whose college major is murder.
Remember when Trixie was the keenest to try the moped and picked it up like a total natural and also remember when her entire character was dedicated, practical minded nurse who also happened to be glamorous on the surface but consistently proved herself to be entirely unfrivolous? Yeah me too
Headcanons confirmed left and right
Trixie said something like "I certainly don't mind "Fraeuleins" back when they were discussing Tony Amos. Also she "provided diversionary cover" for a gay man to protect hin from losing his job. Maybe they were aquainted through Geoffrey?
I I agree that we would expect Trixie to be more involved about gay rights if she was aware back then about her brother's orientation. But I can understand that she focuses on improving the situation for the people she sees every day through her work.
I have thought about that as well! I think since the gay man Trixie provided a cover for was a doctor, it'd be more than possible they met through Geoffrey 👀 And you're right about her maybe being more concerned with the people she sees every day. Also Geoffrey and Trixie seem close now, but maybe there was a time they weren't really close since we haven't heard of him much before (Doylist explanation being that Geoffrey probably wasn't created yet, Watsonian explanation maybe being that he was living in Malta and Trixie had a busy job, no much time to see each other).
I'm 50/50 on whether she knew about Geoffrey being gay back in season four and maybe she learnt a slang word like "fraulein" from him, or whether she found out later. I like both options!
I also think her brushing off Patsy talking about homophobia could actually be really in character even if she was very close with Geoffrey at the time and knew about him being gay. Tony Amos being punished for something Trixie's own brother could be caught doing would have been very distressing to think about, so maybe she'd want to pusposefully focus on things she has control over, like the rose queen thing.
This is very much keeping with the era and trixies established characterisation as a 'modern girl.' Close confidants of LGBT people but especially middle-class professional gay men would be furiously protective of the privacy of the gay men that they socialised with. Up until the 70s/80s, the most loving thing you could do for a gay man was defend him and deny he was gay if asked. You'd certainly never, ever draw reference to his sexuality especially as an example in passing to a co worker. It was an extremely repressive environment for everyone
We have to end this capitalist construct.
Cool how Stranger Things started out with the US government being the bad guys by way of an MKUltra knockoff and then turned into Red Dawn-level anticommunist red scare propaganda because USAmericans can’t make cool shit. Stay losing hoes.

Yet another reminder that faking is a conscious choice that you make.
It is not something you can do accidentally, regards of what you're talking about.
You can't accidentally fake depression, or anxiety, or bipolar disorder, or schizophrenia, or any other mental illness.
You can't accidentally fake Borderline Personality Disorder, Histrionic Personality Disorder, personality disorders.
You can't accidentally fake ADHD, autism, Tourette's Syndrome, auditory processing disorder, aphasia or any other neurodivergence
You can't accidentally fake being trans or ace-spec or aro-spec or any other LGBTQIA+ identity.
You can't accidentally fake chronic illnesses like CFS, fibromyalgia or any chronic illness.
You also can't accidentally fake being good/intelligent at something. You didn't fool your peers into reaching your position.
You can't accidentally fake trauma, PTSD/cPTSD, DID/OSDD/DDNOS or any other trauma-based disorder.
Tldr:
Faking is a conscious choice.
You cannot do it by accident.
If you are worried that you are faking, that in itself is proof that you are not.
