Tired of ICE mercenaries terrorizing your community?
Afraid that they're going to murder yet another personāperhaps one of your neighbors?
Find out where they sleep. Go there and make sure they cannot sleep.
Here's how people did it in Minnesota:
https://crimethinc.com/noisedemos
Starting a collection of these bc my homestate is making me so goddamn proud
ICE came in two SUVs to try and grab a pregnant mother who was picking her other child up from a west Oakland (like three miles from my house) elementary school yesterday afternoon. Neighbors and other community members immediately boxed the ICE vehicles in with their own cars, surrounded the āofficers,ā and harassed them until they left (without their target). This is the only kind of response thatās acceptable from anyone witnessing this shit, and as Oakland Councilwoman Caroll Fife said after the incident, āthere were too many white people around for them [ICE] to stick around.ā
Fellow white people: if youāre able, put your bodies/vehicles/voices in between these kidnappers and their targets, ESPECIALLY if you look ārespectableā (eg soccer mom/dad, business attire etc). Theyāre much, much less likely to engage violently with individuals and crowds who look like ppl they respect/view as human (white/white passing) so use their prejudice to your advantage.
Also: Karen the FUCK outta them. Eg. āI want to see badges and identification containing your full name and title, I want the names and contact information of your direct supervisors, I want to see a warrant signed by a judge that includes the full legal name of the individual you are attempting to detain, and I want to see these items now.ā Speak loudly but as calmly and firmly as possible, donāt touch them but stay in between them and whoever theyāre trying to grab if possible. Repeat.
Also, if you are an employee of whatever location ICE is entering to get somebody, you can do the following:
- Straight up refuse them entry. Not all workplaces will allow you to do this (e.g. I work in a public library and can't do that) but if you are on private property you can straight up tell them to GTFO or get trespassed by the cops.
- Announce their presence over the PA system. Say "Will the ICE agents who just entered the building please come to [your department] immediately?" and anyone else in the building is going to be made aware that ICE is here and that they're likely to be headed towards wherever you asked them to go, giving them time to escape if necessary.
- Be strict about weapons policies. If your workplace only allows LEOs to carry weapons, ask to see their badges, and ask to copy down their badge numbers and names, too. Take your time doing this, waste their time with as much bullshit red tape as you can muster.
- Be VERY strict about harassment policies, and make it clear to the agents that you will not tolerate them harassing or detaining patrons of your establishment unless they show you a warrant signed by a judge. If they have one, ask to photocopy it "for your records," again making sure to waste as much of their time as possible. Let them know that you will call the cops if they attempt to apprehend anyone without a warrant, and follow through on that if they try it. Tell them it's "policy" if they object. (It doesn't matter if it's actually policy, you can just lie to these assholes.)
- If you manage to repel them from the building, they might try to hang around the parking lot to snatch people as they exit. Make it clear to them that "loitering" is not permitted and they have to vacate the premises if they are not there for legitimate purposes.
and the homeless
I worked mall security - if possible, call security when you ask for badge info, photo copies, etc. It slows the process down, but it sounds like a reasonable thing Management may have instructed you to do.
If they go for a kid, call a Code Adam. Lock the house down. Get the cops called. In my limited experience, if someone calls a Code Adam - local news pick that up on their radios set to the channel local police use, and they tend to show up with (or ahead of) the police.
If you can do this, set off the Theft Alarm when the ICE come in (if you can't stop them, or if they ignore your attenpts). This makes people look up, and they will see what is going on up front, but it will make it harder for the ICE agents to communicate with each other, and nearly impossible to sneak up on their targets.
Film them. Stream it live.
The Senate Commerce Committee is set to consider S. 737, the SCREEN Act, a sweeping age-verification bill that would require online services
Another one of those bills purportedly protecting children by effectively forcing everyone to provide ID to access websites that might possibly have a titty on them is in the works. This time, the SCREEN act has passed the House and is now being voted on in the Senate Commerce Committee before going to the floor. Call your senator about this now!
From what i've heard, congressional offices do tally up how many calls they get for and against bills, so it does matter. Call your senator about this now, it'll only take a minute and it'll be far more effective than posting about it. Use the following website to find phone number to contact them; even if your senator isn't on the Committee it's still worth expressing opposition for the future.
The government says destroying his own data during an airport interrogation was illegal.
A few things of note:
This is why people to your left have been chiding you about the "pedo" panic: now, the government can accuse you of being a "pedo" to justify committing crimes against you.
This is why people to your left have been chiding you about the "terrorist" moniker: for the last half century, the government can accuse you of being a "terrorist" to justify committing crimes against you.
we simply do not give enough attention to the fact that the US is. Shooting itself in the foot at every turn. not in a individual incompetence way, not an an orange idiot in the White House Way, but in a āthe US spent a century designing a world order where everyone was either reliant on the US or terrified of the US (often both) and now people at every level of federal government are destroying that systemā way. While USAID very much did in fact contribute to like, food and medicine and whatever to people in need around the globe, this was not out of the kindness of American hearts, this is an arm of liberal empire. the carrot so to speak. and as for the stick, the point of having a military the size of the US military is not to use it. Itās to park on peoples lawns until they stand down. when you use it, and then lose, or deliver anything other than immediate and crushing defeat, you illustrate to the people whose lawn youāre parked on that spending billions of dollars isnāt enough to win a war necessarily. Iran could have closed the strait at any point, but they didnt bc the USA would bomb the shit out of them. When they get bombed first, thereās no reason not to close the strait. The US played its hand and it came up wanting. this is to say nothing of the damage to alliances with other liberal democratic countries. the people currently in power swallowed USA propaganda hook line and sinker, believed in it so completely, that theyre shaking the foundation of what lent that propaganda its believability. to say nothing of the fact that their aims are despicable, their methods are just. an embarrassment to empire building. they took a perfectly good empire and started lopping shit off. theyāre trying to increase the output of a machine by ripping cogs out of its still-running engine.
genAI companies are now buying up rare and antique books so they can scan them and use them to train their AI. then they're destroying the books afterward.
AI companies are quietly obtaining rare books, ingesting their contents, and then destroying them -- even if they're exceedingly rare.
they've had to face settlements against stealing from current authors, so they'll just go for the old books now. they're also doing this so they have the only copies of rare books.
they're taking water, power, natural resources for their data centers. they steal. they're book burning, essentially. i'm just so angry, i'm at a loss right now.
Just gonna drop these here as a starting point :)

It's called the Global Justice Report, it is here. This is an actionable plan which can be sent to legislators and demanded of political parties. We could save the world within our lifetimes.
It has always been possible. It is still possible.
the thing that always gets me about the US and jobs it considers 'essential' is those roles are always treated like/expected to be temporary, and you both get talked down to and it is made extremely difficult to live if you don't want them to be (temporary, that is).
i frequently miss previous food service jobs, not because i don't enjoy what i do now, but because i did genuinely enjoy those jobs too. the reason i left is because the expectation was that i either sell 40+ hours of my week to the job, regularly be physically injured with no support, either no or abysmal workers comp, inconsistent scheduling so it meant i had little to no life outside of work... and still, the actual labor of the job, i enjoyed. i enjoyed the people. i liked working with my hands and making people happy.
and you know, people often bring up customers as the reason to leave food service - this was part of my reason as well, but how much of that - like the unsustainability of working food service itself, bodily and monetarily - is manufactured? many of the people who were terrible to me working food service were often people working office jobs only marginally 'above' mine in pay and support, miserable with their own work, looking to exert some level of power they could over someone else.
this is a bit long winded, but i think its a perfect cultural example of how capitalism does not actually incentivize 'progress' or 'growth' as much as a constant state of desperation, discomfort and dehumanization - you arent actually encouraged to do what it is you excel at, but whatever you can just barely tolerate, all at the risk that at the current stage your body might give out and you will not have worked hard enough to have 'earned' the right to be care for when it does. and someone will be right behind you, desperate enough to immediately replace you.
people saying ādonāt use your full government name for your ao3ā, ācreate different emails for work and personal useā but personally I think itās both sad and dystopian how capitalism/companies/even schools think they have the rights to cross your personal boundaries and insert themselves into your personal life. like, I get it, safety wise, why checking digital footprints can be important sometimes. but a gay fanfiction is not a fucking threat that could ever cause anybody harm. itās funny (not really, itās still sad and dystopian) how they now think they can control your personal life and prevent you from having hobbies
