@findersfeeders
they are trying to cancel hank green for saying what ALL hockey fans have been thinking
But…..
When you miss the goal in hockey…it keeps going. When you miss a goal in soccer it’s a whole *furiously flails hands* thing.
I’m pretty sure that’s like 98% of it. The other 2% is feet (not hands).
This is America. Because some I literally had to dig to find out their stories and what happened. Different deaths and causes but.. the media coverage has been minimal on all of them including the hangings While we hear about 47 and foolishness daily. Their lives mattered. Our lives still matter. Celebrate 4th of what?? Not every story becomes a national headline. Some of these individuals died in police encounters. Some were reported as suicides. Some died under tragic or still questioned circumstances. Some cases received brief local coverage and then faded from the public conversation. Regardless of how they died, every one of them was a human being with a family, dreams, and people who loved them. We don’t have to compare tragedies to acknowledge a painful truth: too many lives are lost without sustained attention, accountability, or remembrance. May we honor them by saying their names, seeking truth over speculation, and refusing to let compassion be selective. ~Gwendolyn
"Tonea Miller, a 27-year-old Black woman, was found lynched from a tree after traveling to Miami, to celebrate Juneteenth, the annual June 19 holiday that commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans." Dade County Sheriff concluded her death was suicide! What Black woman would travel to Miami to celebrate Juneteenth, go to a wooded area and tie a heavy rope on a tree, climb the tree and place the noose around her neck and unalive herself?!
"those who commit the murders, write the reports." Ida B Wells
did I REALLY just see a post using a single study of EIGHTEEN! PEOPLE! to argue there is statistical evidence that gen z college students can't read. be serious for five seconds
I trust this is sound reasoning, but the numbers alone don’t make it bad science.
If it’s a huge, dichotomous effect, it could be statistically powerful:
On 26 June 2026, Burkina Faso became the second country in the Sahel to completely end all diplomatic ties with its former coloniser, France. On the national television network Radio Television Burkina (RTB), Gilbert Ouedraogo, the Minister of Communications, stated, “The essential conditions for promoting relations based on mutual respect, reciprocal trust, respect for the principle of non-interference in internal affairs, and national sovereignty are not in place,” referring to France. He accused the European country of supporting t*rrorism in the Sahel region, an accusation first made by Mali’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdoulaye Maïga in 2022.
Burkina Faso’s neighbour, Niger, has not, in practice, had a diplomatic relationship with France since the French embassy in Niamey closed in December 2023. Burkina Faso has had previous tensions with the French diplomatic presence in the country. On 2 January 2023, Burkina Faso declared the former French ambassador to the country, Luc Hallade, persona non grata, ordering his expulsion. However, Burkina Faso did accept the arrival of a new French ambassador to the country. Now that diplomatic ties between the two states have ended, the French embassy in the country will be forced to close.
Burkina Faso, like Mali and Niger, ended the French military occupation of its country. For Burkina Faso, the military relationship with France ended in February 2023. The three countries, united under the banner of the Alliance of Sahel States (AES), also left the French-dominated soft-power organisation known as the Francophonie in March 2025.
I will never shy away from the word goon. goon is the only way to describe a particular type of henchman, lackey, or thug. look at these guys. they're goons.
me and who
Also a goon:
Fun fact: by just using imaginary numbers, some Evil Math, and 101 rotating vectors You Can Create a shitty approximation of a fish.

Wait til they learn that brains do this math all the flippin time….
if youre in the US (especially the northeast + michigan) i would avoid bagged salads/greens and generally wash your produce very thoroughly unless you want the diarrhea parasite
Michigan is experiencing its largest outbreak of a parasitic infection that causes severe diarrhea. Nearly 1,000 people have been diagnosed
this is not life-threatening, but also who wants weeks of diarrhea and a fucking parasite in them lol. if you suspect you've already had this and it's passed, i would see a doctor. you might need an antiparasitic anyway. if you're actively sick, see a doctor and they might be able to prescribe medication to help you get over it faster.
try to avoid eating raw vegetables, scrub fruit with a produce brush and rinse thoroughly with water. again, don't bother with premade greens or bagged salads. if you buy lettuce, remove the outer 2-3 layers of leaves.
there are UNVERIFIED rumors that the greens have been linked to a company that sources to taco bell. some locations have been actively pulling fresh ingredients like lettuce, avocado, and pico de gallo to mitigate the threat, so i would avoid any products from them just in case. considering how vast supply chains are, i'd be wary of any fast food greens in general for now.
I can hear my mom now:
“Wash your vegetables”
Me: but it says triple washed!
“(Mimicking tone) I don’t care! (Normally) Wash your vegetables.”
Finally put an ad blocker on my router.
83% of my internet traffic was ad chatter.

To my friends in heat and smoke, consider a swamp cooler
(Or an evaporative cooler if you’re bougie)
You need
a bucket,
a fan that fits in or on top of a bucket,
some foam or lots of porous cloth or a filter from a hardware store, and
a way to cut some holes out of a plastic bucket.
Here is how you can build one
You can also build it with a box fan.
Swamp coolers keep the room about 5 C (10 F) cooler than outside. It will not work well in very humid places! (But there you can try using ice water!)
The fan pulls the air through a soaked fabric or foam and evaporates it, cooling the environment in the process. Because it is filtered and adding humidity, it is excellent at pulling smoke from the air and soothing effects of poor quality air.
You can do it. You can build one. At night when it is a little cooler.
I met someone yesterday who made a board game with Claude. From this, he then made a platfromer to help you create board games. As he was showing me a tour of this zero-effort-UI system, my brain was in editor/teacher mode and critiquing the flow, the font, the accessibility… it was so apparent he was hooked on the success that he never gave it a real critical eye.
I spied a document with user interview questions…I’m guessing some customer discovery. They were listed one after the other, not organized (again poor flow).
His board game was similar to my friend’s who actually produced and sold the game (and it’s done reasonably well)! To contrast, this friend is established, talented with accolades, and is healthily critical of his successes. I mention this friend to the person who believes he is an AI developer.
He tells me how his platformer helps you make games start to finish and it cuts something like $50,000 in game development costs out. Sure, but from a glancing view I can see that it is Pure Trash. He wants to interview my friend after he signs an NDA (but bro was showing me his screen and some of the backend like…..?????).
Later he shows me a game he got approved on Apple market. Same thing. Unedited AI-generated UI, no accessibility. No instructions. He assumed the name would explain (a variant of tic tac toe) but the board was a vast 3d field of circles (not shaded spheres to indicate depth) and complex. He had to play it to show me the board rotated (there were zero instruction cues), i tapped on things and menus would pop up and i could activate things. He explained i wanted to break up what the AI player (why not “computer”???) was doing. (Because that is classic tic tac toe). I lost but didn’t realize how or why the game ended. A menu popped up and the board could no longer be seen at the end of the computer’s turn.
My only question to him was “how many do i need to get in a row?” He replies, “three, it’s tic tac toe.”
The point of this story is self-ingratiating behavior is a goddamn scourge. This person genuinely believes he has an idea that can compete. He has never made a game before…I mentioned how there are universal rules to game design that apply to board and video games alike and watch for a response. Nothing. Nothing is going in. The ego is churning in production and calling it creation. Sigh.
Thing is this guy proposes has enough rich friends to make it happen. This AI-Generated Hubris is why we have AI slop packaged as Something We’d Want.
this is correct in general, but incorrect in the math.
it's an 80% ROI, but even still that is an insane return and it is stupid to turn away from that, especially with a program that helps so many at a ridiculously low cost.
by comparison, the stock market, in a fairly mundane year, might net 5-8% on average.
again and again, when we study how to eliminate hardship and poverty, the answer always comes back as "just give people what they need."
it's not about bankrupting the casino (because that was intentional and a different subject, and at best, a can of worms besides). it's about when people say "we should run the government like a business," what they really mean is "i want the government to extract every dollar of profit possible for a small group of people who don't need the help and mercilessly cut programs that help the poor because i'm not directly getting anything out of it."
if the casino argument works, then by all means, use it. but don't forget what the principle at the heart of running a government like a business really is: extraction, not investment.
So what you’re saying is….mutual aid is a sound investment?
being single sucks [remembers that romantic love isnt the gleaming beacon of salvation that will fix the chasm within me] #mychasm #isupportmychasm [remembers not to trivialize my emotions] but it is painful to never have been deemed worthy of that kind of lasting love [remembers how many incels there are] but honestly you should be totally self-sufficient and never want anything ever [remembers that im evil] im evil
I have a hunch that when most people claim they are craving romance, they are really craving community…
"theyll hate you for this" "but theyll be alive" is THE juiciest thing to me
i will ensure you stay alive above all else. even if what i do to make it happen is horrendous. even if it violates all your wishes or moral principles. even if you can never look at me the same way again, even if you hate me for it. because at least if you hate me it means youre alive
ID / TL;DW: young Black man explains the history of voodoo dolls: they originated in England, where Black people where prohibited from learning to read or write, to help witches keep track of what ailed their patients. Eg., person goes to witch and laments headache, they treat their headache and make a small doll (called "poppet"), trying to represent them as good as possible, stick a needle in its head and put it up a shelf. When they return next week, the witch takes their poppet and asks about their headache. If it's gone, they remove the needle, otherwise they know they have to treat a rather persistent headache.
I'm just gonna freeze-frame this for everybody:
@xshingie
we're moving to an internet where children would be banned from reaching out for help and friendship online but abusive parents can post their children's every second online to humiliate and expose them for money with no pushback
There is probably pushback. It is probably effective. It probably doesn’t come up on your dash/feed/searches because big tech benefits from you thinking nothing can or is being done about it.
