While I wait for the other fabrics I ordered to arrive, I decided to do a mock-up of the part I think will be hardest making this cosplay... Those fucking sleeves.

I've never made puff paned sleeves, so I looked for a reference online but couldn't find one with measurements, so I drew the pattern freehand and measured with my heart ❤️ it was entirely too small lol

Anyways the test was otherwise a success and I now have a good idea of how to make it when the actual material comes in. I was planning to use this maroon red velvet fabric for the red parts but it's much too dark and purple-y. It is now scrap material RIP.

Tried to get Panko to model it but she's not very photogenic.

Also, ty Pipi for making this gorgeous man. I haven't sewn in YEARS and seeing this man ignited something in me and now I think this costume shall be my magnum opus. It will be made with all of my love.

Notes:

Scale it up like... Double the height.

Make the red and black panes a bit thinner (maybe)

Line with interface to support the poof. The velvet isn't that stiff.

Add like 2" girth and higher arch for attaching to vest
