BUT WE ARE IN THE TWP MOMENT!!!!!
Does this mean anything... Is it just her saying Dru is a powerful character or something else?
idk if anyone else has had this thought, but here goes:
kit’s last name for most of his life is Rook
a Rook is, yes, a type of bird but it’s also a chess piece
the chess piece is a castle
as of the end of TDA & the beginning of TWP, kit is staying with jem, tessa & mina who are members of the Carstairs family
what is the symbol of the Carstairs family, class?
that’s right, it’s a castle
and, in chess, the Rook can protect the King with a move called ‘castling’
foreshadowing kit saving ash or kieran (or both) in some way in TWP
this could also foreshadow his own Kingship over all of Fae by the end of the series
Does anyone else find it interesting that Ash, his favorite game as a youngster, was hide and seek? He comes from a line of men who were notorious for being hard to find/track. 😂
Calling it now, Kit gets kidnapped at the end just after that moment under the sanctuary with Ty. This is why ARC readers are sad about Kit. Ty goes batshit like Kaz after losing Inej in SOC
i’m honestly so stressed about tlkof, especially since we have an inkling that kit is going to be not-so-well by the end of it. is he getting hurt? is it in relation to ty? in relation to his heritage? where is this road trip of theirs leading him to??? this boy has been through hell already what else does cassie want i’m going insane
Kit: I never wanna see you again after this
Ty: …ok
Kit: *5 minutes later* I lied, I was lying, I am a fucking liar, I will never lie again in my life, that was a fucking lie, wow, wtf Kit, u fucking liar, why would you lie like this, I was not telling the truth, far from it, actually it was the opposite, I’m a fucking liar
One of my favorite love declarations will be Kit, who has been carrying so much for the last years, finally being ready to open up to Ty and let the other boy help him carrying that weight
TLKOF is basically about rooting for two blond Faerie royals to get their hot Blackthorn sibling
willing and able by noah kahan but it’s about ty blackthorn and kit herondale
like I’m sorry but that bridge was written for them:
literally leave me alone, I’m so sick.
the thing about the Seelie Queen dying in The Last King of Faerie is that it might finally bring to light why she inserted herself into everything that has been happening. because she has been so involved in literally every single thing that has happened in the modern timeline thus far and since that's how we're introduced to her it's not immediately obvious how strange that is. but then you look at the historical books and realise that she never even. comes up. because she is so far removed from their everyday lives that she not even a factor to consider. her only(!!) mentioned in the entire historical timeline is Anna offhandly mentioning how the Clave used to have better relationships with powerful Downworlders like..... Princes of Hell are walking around and she is nowhere to seen or heard because she's irrelevant. She cares about the world outside of Faerie as much as the Unseelie King does which is to say not at all. yet something changed. something happened between The Last Hours and The Mortal Instruments that caused her to purposefully insert herself into the lives of Clary Fairchild and Jace Herondale.
why does she care, and more importantly what has she wanted all along?
The Seelie Queen giving Clary the bell when Sebastian was dead suggests that she had other plans prior to his resurrection that she then changed. This would mean Sebastian offered something incredibly important to her, presumably his blood, that led to her having a child with him — Ash. She is only known to have two childern, after centuries of life, meaning she likely had some ulterior motive for Ash long before the Unseelie King or Thule!Sebastian learned of his existence. The most obvious answer is Sebastian's demon blood, supported in how interested & knowledgeable she was about Valentine's experiments. Yet if a child with demon blood was what she desired, that begs the question why she didn't put her plans in motion decades earlier when Andrew and Arthur Blackthorn — direct descendants by birth of Belial — were in her court for seven!! years!! now of course Lilith's blood in particular could have been desirable but her complete lack of attention to Jace or any of the Blackthorns suggests she just.... might not know. something that is extremely uncharacteristic of the Seelie Queen.
the interesting thing about this is that Belial on the hand does care about her descendants. or at least, someone does. I've theorised before that the demon Jem meets is not Belial, but instead Lucifer, based on some of the things he says not really lining up, but the important thing here is that he manipulates Jem twice into doing something he wants. the first time is at the end of CHOT when Jem agrees to "pass along the message" of Belial leaving the Herondales alone. the second is when he tells him about the Lost Herondales. both times Jem acts out of his love of Will and Tessa, he doesn't do what a shadowhunter or silent brother should because his greater loyalty is to them and Belial knows this. their entire second encounter proves it. he wanted Jem to find the First Heir and he wanted people to think Belial's descendants are now ordinary shadowhunters and treated as such.... but why?? what is motivating them??? how does this factor into twp, where every single main character is entangled in this????
Why did I just learn about this theory? It's fascinating. You might be onto something...
let's have sympathy for kit in this moment because could you imagine being on a road trip through some of europe's most beautiful cities during pride, a joyful celebration of love, with the boy you never got over but think you can never be with and he's tall and gorgeous and smart and kind and brave and then sometimes he just carries adorable small animals in his pockets???? like CAN I LIVE PLEASE. CAN I LIVE IN PEACE FOR ONE MOMENT.
…..can I offer you some TWP art in this trying time?
can ty fight?
i rly need a scene in tlkof where the tension and angst between Kit and Ty is unbearable and Dru's finally HAD IT with these dumb gay bitches and she's just like "guys STFU GO MAKE OUT YOU'LL FEEL BETTER I PROMISE"
Anyway I am ready for the probably most morally gray group of characters in tsc
Another arc reader on goodreads who is sad about Kit... how scared do I need to be??
