People assume radical feminists are gender critical only (the correct term would be gender abolitionists). People do not care about our discussions of anti-pornography, anti-beauty industry, anti-prostitution, medical misogyny, anti-religion, FGM, human trafficking of women and girls, and many more. We want to bring attention the different types of misogyny and how it affects and harms women and girls around the world, how patriarchy has oppressed us for millennia and still continues to this day. But unfortunately not everyone will see that. How is radical feminism worthy of being labeled as neo-nazism? Because we call out misogyny and harmful practices? I know it is only a tactic to silence us, but why go so far? Why use that word so carelessly? Why is caring about the wellbeing of women and girls considered a hate crime? It makes no sense.
do not spout the line 'you are not immune to propaganda' if you just unquestionably accepted ideas of gender. gender is a social construct that should be abolished not reinforced. creating more genders does not take away the oppressive nature. queer culture can be incredibly damaging and misogynistic to women.
Trnas women do not experience periods.
"Periods are not just bleeding they have other aspects too!!"
Correct periods are a fluctuation of 4 key hormones, fsh, oestrogen, Lh and progesterone and they peak in the order listed here.
Hrt for trans women involves taking the same dose of synthetic oestrogen daily as such the level of oestrogen in their body remains relatively consistent, as such they do not experice the peaks of different hormone levels that would mimic a period.
feminism is not about the right to choose. it is the liberation of women. i’m so sick of people treating this like some “whatever” throwaway. it’s fucking annoying. across the world, all races, all ages, all religions, all cultures women are fucking hated and treated like scum. women are raped, abused, tortured, murdered day in and day out. and some of you wanna sit there and be like “no but it’s about the right to choose”! or as some fucking quirk. “hehe i’m such a man hating feminist” shut the fuck up, please. it’s disgusting and it’s pathetic. it genuinely hurts my heart seeing that shit, nobody takes women seriously and the ones who DO are demonized for being “too mean”. i’d rather be “too mean” than watch women be treated like fucking shit, i don’t care.
“Actually the root of women’s oppression is capitalism”
So… women under feudalism and mercantilism weren’t oppressed? Or did you learn about Marxism from a 35 year old college guy with a bad haircut and an underage girlfriend?
Capitalism isn’t good but believe it or not it isn’t the only bad system we tried. Not the first. Not even the second.
There is no wrong way to be a woman. However you are doing womanhood is correct. You cannot fail at being a woman. The one and only deciding factor of whether you are a woman or not is being of the female sex. Everything else is made up gender roles. Live your life how you want to live it.
i’m pretty sure i’ve made a few posts exactly like this but my god it bares repeating because this drives me mad. i’ve explained to a few trans people/TRAs on here that i cured my own dysphoria with therapy and wholeheartedly believed most people’s gender dysphoria without any radical medical intervention. each time I’ve gotten a response on the lines of: “well therapy wouldn’t be a viable option for most people’s gender dysphoria because it’d be too uncomfortable and gender affirming care is the best treatment” which is sort of baffling to me.
like yeah, that’s literally most of what doing the work in therapy is. it’s doing deep introspection on your behaviors and training your brain to work differently than the way it’s naturally wired. it’s not easy, and can often be uncomfortable which is why you have a professional helping to guide you. the fact that these things are inherently difficult and uncomfortable is exactly the reason why a lot of people who are clearly unstable opt out of therapy entirely and say some sort of similar cope line like: “therapy just doesn’t work for me." because it’s easier to become complacent and continue living with a brain that’s making you miserable than to do the difficult work.
and the thing is, most people wouldn’t even KNOW whether or not their gender dysphoria could have been successfully treated with therapy because therapists are terrified of questioning any patient that states they think they’re trans out of fear of getting their license revoked and labeled a “conversion therapist.”
because doctors and the trans community have spoonfed it to everyone that cross-sex hormones and surgeries are the only valid treatment or else you’ll inevitably off yourself. parents are terrified of asking questions and exploring other options when their kid says they think they’re trans because the: “wouldn’t you rather have a trans kid than a dead kid?” is everywhere. you’re putting vulnerable people in a position where they’re forced to believe the only solution to their issues is extremely sketchy invasive treatments with horrifying side-effects they may not even be aware of because none of the “professionals” tell them. it’s disgusting, it’s not legitimate medical care and nobody can convince me otherwise.
femaleness is the only thing that makes me a woman and being a woman is nothing other than my femaleness. anything and everything i do is ‘feminine’ because i am a woman doing it. there is so much freedom in letting go of gender stereotypes may every woman in the world rid themselves of these chains
me being a lesbian and me not liking dick are two totally separate unrelated facts. yeah. I remember in middle school when I started realizing I was a lesbian because I was attracted to my female friends internal self described individual different-for-everyone woman gender identity, and also by happenstance totally unrelated sexually attracted to pussy and not into dick. they aren’t related at all because lesbianism is based on metaphysical internal identities sort of floating towards each other in the time space continuum and not real female human bodies in the real world. yeah
I can’t get over the mass rape case in France. It disturbs me on so many fucking levels but one thing that has stuck with me is that he was with her for 30+ years before the rapes began. According to the victim (Gisèle Pelicot, who I consider to be one of the bravest people on earth for going public with the trial) she considered her and husband be an idyllic couple. She loved him. And she thought he loved her. For thirty fucking years she was with him through thick and thin and in their late 50s he started raping her. I never want to hear another woman shamed for “choosing wrong”. It can happen at any fucking time no matter how much you think he loves you. This is so fucking terrifying
It's not progressive to say "women are oppressed so they should be brutalized in films for the sake of realism". Hate to break it to you, but most men are sadistic towards women, not empathetic. The male film director who recycles the violent pornography he’s consumed isn’t challenging anything. He's only desensitizing an entire audience to cruelty against women.
When I told my ex boyfriend that I was against the sex industry and prostitution, his argument was to bring up one of his socially awkward “ugly” friends, and ask me “how ELSE is he ever supposed to get laid?”
That’s the thing about men when it comes to prostitution. They literally cannot fathom a world in which men aren’t entitled to sex. They can’t comprehend the idea that women’s lives and freedom is worth the price of men not getting sex. “Some guys will never get laid though!” I don’t… give a shit? Their dicks can rot and fall off for all I care.
My lived experience is that I am a woman because I was born female, and it has affected the way people have treated me from the moment I was born. The lived experience of 3.5 billion women is that they are women because they were born female. To try and demand that we deny this reality, our own lived reality, because it doesn’t validate the feelings of a small handful of males who have decided (in the absence of any evidence) that the way they feel must be the way women feel, and therefore they are women, and therefore “woman” is a feeling independent of the body? To demand that 3.5 billion women pretend their bodies have nothing to do with their experience of womanhood because it doesn’t include this tiny minority? That’s gotta be Peak Mansplaining. They are literally mansplaining womanhood to women, projecting their own beliefs about womanhood (warped by their own perceptions and experiences as the oppressor class) onto themselves and onto every woman on earth. How has anyone, especially any woman, been convinced to go along with this?
Reading this while listening in to absolutely bullshit training at work where a woman is telling me there is no reason to exclude trans women from women only domestic violence shelters.
Hm they’re finally acknowledging some of the side effects. I guess they couldn’t deny them any longer tbf
Now we’re bad for caring about other people’s well-being 🫠
i’ve recently seen MRAs talking about “rape by deception” and how they’re sooo afraid some woman will accuse them of rape because they’ve lied about some minor detail, such as employment, past relationships or wealth. so here’s some clarification (at least in my country) regarding the legal meanings of “rape by deception” or “rape under false premises”
rape is non-consenting sex. the possibility of “rape by deception” arises within the definition of “consent”. consent is not given where the person is under a mistaken belief regarding the other persons identity AND the other person is aware of this mistaken belief. in other states, often the phrasing regards a mistake regarding the “nature of the sex” rather than identity.
now, if you dye your hair blonde and tell people you’re a natural blonde, that is not rape by deception, as it is not to do with your identity - in other states, your hair colour does not have to do with the nature of the sex you have. your job also doesn’t fundamentally alter your identity, and is not relevant to the nature of the sex.
however, someone’s sex is obviously a part of their identity, and whether you have sex with a man or a woman is pretty core to the nature of the sex. lying about your sex is rape by deception.
unfortunately i have no idea how to navigate american legislation, but i assume the definitions would be relatively similar
This really is it.
Or when they say this is just individual cases, a couple of bad apples, nothing to worry about . When there are many many "individual cases", and we can predict the victim and perp, the nature of the assault and the motivation, it is a systemic issue.
