My first little blurb was quite well received, much to my surprise! So I shall be sharing my personal lore/headcanons on the next region: the one with too much water!

Pokemon & Human Relations in the Hoenn Region:

Ah the land of sun, seas, and islands, truly a tropical paradise! The history of Pokephillia within the Hoenn Region has a mostly hazy past, with some accounts coming from customs established by natives of the region centuries ago, while others argue the practice was from Foreigners from Kanto bringing their customs to the archipelago. While both seem to have some correlation, there is evidence on the latter with historical logs from the Sevii Islands showing a very close knit relation with their Pokemon on par with that found in the Kanto region. That being said, Pokemon and Human relations are a widely accepted reality of Hoennian people, with many families often including Pokemon as part of their social dynamic, either as hired help, family pets, and even as kin. Unlike the Kanto/Jotho region, Hoenn has enacted various laws to protect and unify Pokemon and Human relationships, first brought on by the Devon Corporation's usage of Pokemon Labor. This region was the first to establish a sort of "Union" for Pokemon to seek proper treatment, safety, and respect when working alongside humans in a life outside the regular Pokemon League context, making it the most progressive of the regions (second only to Alola).

Speaking of the League, It is a common sight to see Pokemon outside of their balls traveling alongside their Human Partner, a practice that would become common place in other regions to follow. Most trainers in the region openly admit to becoming intimate with their Pokemon during their journey, with numbers on par with the Kanto/Johto region, coming in at around 60%. Interestingly enough, only around 45% admit to being sexually intimate with their Starter Pokemon, with many stating that their preference for other team members was due to a "prevalent bond" with their first partner that stayed platonic throughout their time together.
