it baffles me when people say that they could never get into fo3 or fnv because they couldn’t get past the bad graphics like what the fuck are you talking about?? can you not play video games that aren’t photo realistic? what the fuck were you doing in 2010?? Did you ever play a ps1 game? a ps2 game? did you have a gameboy? did the low poly of spyro year of the dragon kill your grandma? do the ugly playdough faces not feel like you’re being welcomed home? where did this type of pentious bullshit come from?

honestly i’d say these people are the exact problem with today’s gaming market. They’re the reason why these companies don’t think anyone will buy games unless their poor devs study peoples heads exploding in real life so they can perfectly simulate the same happening in game. like please get over yourself and play ugly games.

The creamy fruit and nectar-rich flowers of the milk fruit tree are irresistible to Xenohyla truncata, a tree frog native to Brazil. On warm nights, the dusky-colored frogs take to the trees en masse, jostling one another for a chance to nibble the fruit and slurp the nectar. In the process, the frogs become covered in sticky pollen grains—and might inadvertently pollinate the plants, too. It’s the first time a frog—or any amphibian—has been observed pollinating a plant, researchers reported last month in Food Webs.

Scientists long thought only insects and birds served as pollinators, but research has revealed that some reptiles and mammals are more than up to the task. Now, scientists must consider whether amphibians are also capable of getting the job done. It’s likely that the nectar-loving frogs, also known as Izecksohn’s Brazilian tree frogs, are transferring pollen as they move from flower to flower, the authors say. But more research is needed, they add, to confirm that frogs have joined the planet’s pantheon of pollinators.

I feel like Jojo Siwa’s style is reminiscent of the colorful teen girl fashion of the late 2000s and early 10s. Back then it was considered fashionable to use lots of colors, accessories, etc. Take a look at Jojo Siwa:

If you were a kid in 2007-2012 you saw something similar in the clothing the teens in your sitcoms wore, although not as exaggerated. The fashion in Shake It Up(which came out in 2010) is a really good example of this:

The point is, Jojo’s aesthetic is similar to being a young pre teen girl walking into Limited Too for the first time.

And the reason cishet men hate it is because they don’t find it attractive. That’s why she’s often made fun of and used as a joke so much. Because that style doesn’t cater to the male gaze. It’s not for them, so it must be bad.

Okay but you realize that the person who said "American Kawaii" has it exactly right, yea? That kawaii in Japan was created for girls to embrace cutesy juvenile things that refuted the beauty standards (created by men) that expected them to look mature and marriageable as soon as possible. It was over-the-top BECAUSE men hated it! Because the girls in the subculture specifically wanted to keep them away as long as they could and enjoy their childhood without being seen as Somebody's Future Wife™.
