Across the Spiderverse really went if nobody got Miles, you know Hobie Brown got Miles. Because this freedom fighter, former model, punk rock anarchist really set up to make sure Miles knew how to get out of a jam when needed, quit the inter-dimensional Spidey squad bc they were acting like villains and secretly built his own inter-dimensional watch (possibly used by stealing pieces from what we can tell) to lend to Gwen bc he knew she’d eventually come around and would need help.

It’s likely Gwen talked about Miles to Hobie, so he probably knew Miles was a good kid anyways, but Hobie seems like he’s a got a good read on people, which was why he got on Miguel so easily. He knew that man was up to no good. Hobie is a real mfer and respect/love him so much.

Just the fact when the Spiders were ganging up on Miles, he took off his watch and went “I quit”. He is not about that life and made it known. Also he’s not the only one who saw how wrong this was (besides Peter B and Gwen). The instant Margo Kess and Miles met, you saw something. You noticed something between them, and I’m glad they kept to that where she couldn’t do what she was told to do. She knew it wasn’t right.

Tags are fantastic, and if you’re on the fence about reading the books please know Eomer finds her before the battle ends in the original, and thinking she is dead goes absolutely feral on the enemy.
