i think misogyny starts to feel like a lot more crazy of an opression when u process that we are half of the entire world population. half of all humans. and half of all humans have been systemically opressed by the other half in large swatches of the world for going on hundreds and thousands. h a l f. and we treat sexism like its somehow much less of an opression than other ones
i need sebaciel codependency. sebastian feels restless when separated from his master, like he's forgotten how to think for himself and only knows how to follow orders now. ciel feels unsafe when separated from his butler, like a child who's lost their teddy bear
ciel who always commands sebastian not to stray too far from him. ciel who finds himself straying into the kitchen in the middle of the work day just to watch sebastian cook and bake. ciel who wants to be carried rather than walking separately. ciel who can't sleep these days without sebastian sleeping next to him
sebastian who only feels truly at ease while at his master's feet, in the safety of their manor, where the only soul sebastian has to focus on is his young master's. sebastian who feels anxiety for the first time in his long, long life when he loses sight of ciel in a crowd. sebastian who takes any excuse to carry ciel rather than let his master walk. sebastian who actually sleeps, but only with his arms around ciel
I love the trope (?) of ciel coming to the kitchen to hang out with Sebastian it's so domestic and cozy 💕💕💕

It was a mistake to start reading this... How can I stop thinking about him now? He so... So bad... Such a red flag. And I like it.
The thing about Cottagecore is that is a fetishized aesthetic of country life, divorced from labor and idealized by a primarily urban audience with a backward looking ethos of tradition. They are not prepared for the stresses of a rural life: farming; harvesting; tapping pumpkins to ensure none of them have been replaced with flesh; losing out on income by having to use one of your pigs in a blood sacrifice to paint protective sigils over your doors and windows; checking cracks and chimneys for the flesh-vines of the Pumpkin Lord; having to decide, before the Growth is complete, whether that's really your tradwife or an amassment of vines, leaves, and blood in the shape of your tradwife; ignoring their desperate pleas that "I'm me! No! No!" as you burn them alive, realizing too late you picked wrong; and the exploitative corporate nature of commercial farming in 2024. All seen through a deeply colonial lens, of course
Nothing infuriate me more than seeing Martells stans blaming Daenerys for Quentyn’s death.
There is nothing that Daenerys could have done for Quentyn. She’s already committed herself to marrying Hizdahr in a bid to stop the freedmen she considers her children being slaughtered in the street. Daenerys doesn’t consider the marriage proposal because it’s just not practical. Quentyn’s offering the support of Dorne for invading Westeros, but Daenerys’ not about to invade Westeros, she’s trying to keep Meereen from collapsing and stopping the slaughter of her people. And the help he offers isn’t enough to bring her the Iron Throne, it is very much Daenerys’ armies and dragons that will be doing the heavy lifting, after she’s already risen from nothing with no help at all from Doran despite him signing the agreement when she and Viserys were still with Willem Darry.
She does offer Quentyn something just as rare and valuable as a royal marriage, a chance to be a dragonrider. That’s a clear show of respect. Daario sniggered at Quentyn, for which Daenerys immediately reprimanded him. Instead, she took Quentyn down to see her dragons, and explicitly doesn’t mock his obvious fear when seeing them:
Rhaegal roared in answer, and fire filled the pit, a spear of red and yellow. Viserion replied, his own flames gold and orange. When he flapped his wings, a cloud of grey ash filled the air. Broken chains clanked and clattered about his legs. Quentyn Martell jumped back a foot.A crueler woman might have laughed at him, but Dany squeezed his hand and said, “They frighten me as well. There is no shame in that. My children have grown wild and angry in the dark.”
The fact that his form of “gratitude” was to go “Well, Daenerys herself ain’t actually important, only her dragons are” and try to steal one of her children while she’s gone (bearing in mind that Daenerys is hosting him as a guest, so Quentyn’s breaking Westerosi rules on his obligations to her here), kill her guards, and not let the fact that the dragons didn’t react well to him before stop his plan to take one, unleashing a massive danger on the city Daenerys spent the whole book trying to prevent. Honestly, I’m glad Rhaegal stepped up to fry Quentyn’s ass and demonstrated that he’s only loyal to his mother and brothers.
Everything is Dany's fault to them.
Doran should've just sent Arianne.

Oh god! I miss Dany!
Right wing manipulation tactics explained
this is an epic exposure of how propaganda functions.
One of the greatest disservices to Dany’s character is people constantly trying to rob her of her agency, whether it be about her political or magical actions. Not only because Dany grew up having zero agency whatsoever (and we spend almost the entire first book witnessing that) to the point she gets sold as a child bride to a foreign warlord by her own brother; but also because it ignores how she reclaims her agency and fights for it any way she can, and later how she decides to use it. First she is forced to claim some little illusion of agency, which actually belongs to her husband and her husband only, by sexually pleasing him through the constant violation of her own body (basically working as a sex slave) as a 13/14-year old. Her body is later violated again by Mirri murdering Rhaego in her womb and forcibly sterilizing her.
Then, when she can’t rely on Drogo anymore and that illusion of power is taken away from her, she ends up reclaiming her agency in an unprecedented, magical and even miraculous way. I’m talking of course about the birth of the dragons. Out of all the ways people try to take Dany’s agency away from her, this is the example that annoys me the most. Because this is the instance in which Dany reclaims her agency for real, not an illusion of it, not through someone else’s power; for the first time ever, she reclaims her life and autonomy and destiny as her own and doesn’t allow anyone to stand in her way. She stops working within a constrictive and oppressive system that will never allow her any real agency—like she had to do when she was Drogo’s Khaleesi—and instead breaks through it. She refuses to run away with Jorah or go back to the dosh khaleen and instead forges her own path. She doesn’t just birth the dragons, she rebirths herself. So to see so many people act like this is something that happened to her rather than something she actively chooses to do is honestly infuriating.
“The heat beat at the air with great red wings, driving the Dothraki back, driving off even Mormont, but Dany stood her ground. She was the blood of the dragon, and the fire was in her. She had sensed the truth of it long ago, Dany thought as she took a step closer to the conflagration, but the brazier had not been hot enough.”
“No, she wanted to shout to him, no, my good knight, do not fear for me. The fire is mine. I am Daenerys Stormborn, daughter of dragons, bride of dragons, mother of dragons, don’t you see? Don’t you SEE?”
— Daenerys X, AGoT
Dany made the dragons, not the other way around. She is their Mother. She births them thanks to her own intuition and knowledge, through her own sacrifice. She gives them life, she steps into the pyre herself to be born anew with them, thus breaking the chains of the system that was holding her prisoner. Dany and her dragons hatch together. She finally fully becomes her own person as they are born, taking charge of her own destiny. This power didn’t come from them, it came from her. Her dragons are simply a reflection of that; they’re not only a symbol of her reclaimed power, they’re a symbol of her reclaimed freedom.
And what is extraordinary is that she later extends this reclaimed power and freedom to tens of thousands of people: when she opens her eyes to the conditions slaves live in, she uses her dragons’ power—her own power—to free these people and let them reclaim their autonomy the same way she did for herself. She refuses to turn her back on them, she puts aside her own ambitions and dreams indefinitely to stay and protect them because she has accepted to be their Mother, and does everything in her power so that they can keep their freedom, even if this means restricting her own. It’s a self-sacrifice, but if the one that allowed herself and her dragons to be (re)born in the pyre was empowering for her, this one is meant to be empowering for her people, her children, even it happens at the expense of Dany and the agency she has fought to take back.
“[…] I will not let this city go the way of Astapor. I will not let the harpy of Yunkai chain up those I’ve freed all over again.”
— Daenerys VI, ASoS
“Enough.” Dany slapped the table. “No one will be left to die. You are all my people.” Her dreams of home and love had blinded her. “I will not abandon Meereen to the fate of Astapor. It grieves me to say so, but Westeros must wait.”
— Daenerys III, ADwD
“A queen belongs not to herself, but to the realm. Marriage or carnage, those are my choices. A wedding or a war. […] She wanted Westeros as much as he did, but first she must heal Meereen.”
— Daenerys IV, ADwD
This is who she is: someone who refuses to be a passive force in her own story even when she has no real control over it and is completely subjugated to other people’s will, someone who is ready to fight tooth and nail to reclaim her own power, someone who is willing to sacrifice herself so that other people can do the same.
