✨What is TRÊ? “The Rêtàil Eqūātīoņ”✨

I’ve just discovered something bizarre this community should be aware of I’ve seen nothing about. Im on my computer so bear with me with my typing LOL.

I’ve had a ğåp acc for years and have periodically done ďñä requests. At one point a few years ago they were denying me left and right. Then it went back to letting me. I tried a small one for hahas the other day (~70) that was a part of a bigger order but shìpped separately. You basically go fill out an order issue form on the app and it auto refùnds you or doesn’t. To my surprise, it said my claim was denied due to TŘÈ or “the řetaił equätiòn”. I’ve never heard of this before, it gave me a code to go contact țřè with so I did while simultaneously doing my own research.

Essentially, it is a company that exists to track you and keep your data from various large řetailèrs and builds a file on you. Each rêtailer shares your info with them and třę uses your info make a score kind of like a fucking credit score (no I’m not kidding) to help the company determine whether or not they should give you your money back.

You can request something called your “řėtaił aćtivìty rëpôrt” to figure out why you were denied. I did that and it took them 24 hours to send me the fucking report which is obnoxious on its own because you know they automate that shit and it could’ve been sent to me right away. Upon reviewing it, there is nothing even on it but the two recent denial attempts from the same ğäp package because I tried 2x and got the țře notice both times thinking the first was an error and I wanted to be sure that this was actually happening.

Apparently, they can use info from other companies to tell one whether or not to help you. But that info isn’t even included in my report or available to ğap. They just take ťrê’s word for it. I’m assuming that’s what happened to me.

A couple thoughts on this. This is fucked up. I am so tired of the level to which we are being monitored as a whole by ai. There is no privacy in anything anymore and I’m not sure how this is even legal. From my understanding, it exists to help keep track of unreceipted rêturns. So anytime someone goes to make a rêturn somewhere without a rêceipt, they have to hand over their license and that info is entered and shared with ťře and then linked to your online footprint with that info.

I have seen some posts over on rėddìt talking about this and how they were denied a rëturn for no specific reason either. My report quite literally says no reason for the denials available and counts the two claim attempts together in a dollar amount which makes no sense because I didn’t get refunded. And some people have complained to the béttẽr bușiñesș bùreåu and were able to get their money back.

I’m not sure what the right course of action is but be aware that this piece of shit entity is harvesting your info, tracking you, and shit talking you to some places you try to buy from. I’m just imagining how if I tried to bring anything I bought online from ğap in person now to rēturn or exchange they would tell me no, print out a receipt with the țrě info on it and how insane and completely utterly fucking stupid that is. Because apparently once you have this issue you’re denied them even with a reçeipt.

Even more strange to me is that none of my previous history with the company or their sister brands was on this report. I spend 100s if not 1000s every year with them and their sister brands and knowing they use shitty couriêrs like lãzęrshîp, I would expect them not to be so stingy with my order issues. I think I’ll probably try to fight it on principal and just the anger over this whole thing and how they keep making it harder and harder not just on us but in situations where people are returning gifts or whatever.

I also know we’ve all been aware of the shippinğ protectioņ companies or places like ñarvär (who are probably in cahoots with țre) that hold onto your info but this feels like an important matter and I think from now on don’t even attempt shit unless you have all new info for any brand that uses this bullshit. I will absolutely try again in the future but it’ll be with all new stuff because clearly they’re tracking me from my main êmail and # which is so funny because before I got smart about doing this I was burning myself at different places left and right like şepħora comes to mind and I really fought that but have since been able to bypass w new info so it’s my own fault for using my personal stuff but I genuinely figured because I’m such a loyal customer that it wouldn’t be an issue.

Emailed, they asked me to check neighbours and around my porch and if i didn’t find/receive by next day they will find a solution, waited a couple days and emailed again. They offered to reship, I said i’m going on vacation if I can get refund and they said yes.

ş3pħòřä - April 2024, PEB $60 - Aged acc, many legit orders. Spoke to cs over chat, they reshipped the item and I returned in store.

Aug 2024 PEB $120 - same account with many legit orders. spoke thru live chat, said one item was missing and she placed a replacement order.

âmǐķâ - May 2024, $230 - First time ordering. Emailed and they said they would “check with the shipping company” (investigation i guess?) and a few days later emailed again and got my refund.

țářț3 May 2024, $200 - first order, new acc. Talked through live chat, lady was so nice, said that the package got lost lol and refunded right away. Said they don’t have a reshipping policy for international orders.

máç May 2024, $260 - first order new acc, talked through live chat, she “checked with the shipping company” and filed an investigation. Then reshipped the order. Reshipped with fedex and required signature. Went to mac store and returned, had to call customer service to ask to return (bc I bought all items on sale) but they gave no fuss. 

şâj3 June 2024 $200 - new account, emailed them and they sent back a pic of the delivery lol, then said they would check with the courier so filed investigation ig, they told me they confirmed it was delivered but they still gave me my refund.

People that use magnets have purchased them from AliExpress, Ebay, & Amazon. The most popular one is the N52 neodymium magnet.

Many stores have magnet detectors!!!

Checks for tags EVERYWHERE. Some are hidden in seams of clothing! Some are hidden underneath bar codes! 

Unless you’re a pro, avoid these stores: WalMart, K-Mart, Kohls, JC Penny, Target, Macy’s, Dillards, Belks, Neiman Marcus, & other department stores.

NEVER shoplift at church sales, thift stores (except Salvation Army lmao), & yard sales. NEVER rob people.

pro tipppp for tt shop refunds, always go through the “live” chat and say that it was defective. It automatically pops up a refund window without you having to send it back. if you do the regular way, you’ll only get refunded after sending it back.

If they deny you, just beat up the packaging it was sent it and send a photo of that.

things always to check when lifting:

timing, weather and the day can all affect how busy/effective the store will be at stopping lifting. some are much tighter at certain hours (when it gets busy etc) and if its a good/bad day for weather then it can affect the business.

do you want the shop to be busy or empty?

pros to busy:

if your in a jam-packed shop but with plentiful employees you can use this to your advantage, but normally i dont take this route because some people can be rats if they see anything out of the ordinary. if your sneaky though, it can be very useful to an expensive clothes store as the staff wont be worrying about you when theres many others who need help. another advantage is if you're leaving with tagged goods (and planning for the gates to go off) it will be much harder for LP to get you in the hoards of people.

pros to empty:

no risk of other customers ratting you out, however if your in a shop with plentiful staff, its practially going to be impossible as all of them AND LP are probally watching you with an eagle's eye. however if the staff are small and chill, this can be a great oppunity to lift some stuff. however since its probally quite quiet in there if your dropping anything in your bag make sure you got some padding or you're in big trouble!! also if you get there early in the morning to a shop you want to lift i find that are much less LP and staff than in the afternoon, say.

make sure your not wearing anything out of the ordinary or recognizable, if cams or staff spot you, you will be a quick one to recognize! unfortunaly yes you will have to go basic..

triple quadruple check for security tags before bagging them, you really never know i find them hidden in the most strangest places in some boxes sometimes! always play it safe if your unsure.

learn when to give up and stop. this isnt gambling on a video game this is real life and getting caught has terrible consequences. if you have suspiciouns your being watched, put it down and leave. buying something small can help alot to relieve some suspicious but your main goal is to get the hell out of there! learning to bail is one of the most important things in lifting.

random lil pieces of 🏋️ advice

🏵️bring stuff with you - at a makeup store, bring your "empties" so you "know what you need to buy", at a craft store it depends what specifically you're there for but i crochet, so i'd bring like a lil ball of yarn that i'm trying to "color match", you get the idea, it's a very normal thing to do and gives you a great excuse to be rummaging in your bag/pockets

🏵️talk on the phone - people on the phone tend to pace, wander, fiddle with things, pick things up, etc, and the SAs wont be paying attention to you.

🏵️if you're going to carry hooks or magnets, conceal them on your body. if you get caught, having tools makes it planned instead of spontaneous

🏵️building on that, if you ever get caught, always always say it was an impulse, you don't know why you did it, it was stupid, you saw your friends do it, etc.

🏵️wear sweatbands on your arms, like halfway up your forearm. you can tuck pencil/lipstick size items into it.

🏵️easily forgotten detail, remember to put something soft at the bottom of your bag if you're going to drop things into it 😉

🏵️if you're planning to return things, always pay with cash and use a fake phone/email if they ask for one. honestly, pay with cash as often as possible in general. the last thing you want is a store building a case against you and getting your info from your credit card

🏵️sometimes when doing returns, stores will ask for your ID. say you forgot it at home/recently lost it. if they give you any grief, just offer to come back another time. this is how stores track you in their system and potentially flag you for suspicious activity.

🏵️you should have a fake name, phone number, address, and email address memorized and ready to rattle off.

🏵️wintertime special: wear too many warm things. hat & scarf. be holding a few items in your hand, set most of them down, take off your hat/scarf and shove it in your bag along with 1-2 items.

(can y'all tell i like sleight of hand better than finding a blind spot to conceal? looking for cameras is the most sus thing you can do, imho)

it says it can predict behavior before you even do anything, and the nature of it means it automatically becomes smarter the longer it runs. this CAN and WILL be your downfall - you need to make sure your sleight of hand is perfect, your area, your posture, your expression, your movement, EVERYTHING.

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO:

check YOUR local stores for any signs of Al being implemented; all i saw was a very obvious sticker on the window by the door advertising dr@g0nfrû¡†. YMMV.

re-assess your lifting habits - now more than ever, it is dangerous and feasible to get caught even with great technique. you don't need to lift out of necessity... but please be aware of your habits. are you doing this to self soothe? to avoid an emotion? this can become a real addiction, and you deserve forms of self care that don't threaten yourself. it can feel like fun and games, but this really is serious.

re-assess yourself - i hate to say it, but we know Al will have bias, and this affects some of us more than others, including POC and the disabled. if you are autistic or otherwise neurodivergent especially, your gait, posture and general movement could potentially flag the Al to watch you more. (anyone else remember the post about how LP watch for elbows on the shopping cart...?)

harm reduction - zero judgement if you continue, either for fun or for necessity; my heart seriously bleeds for those of you that rely on this to live. but you need to brush up on skills, REMEMBER YOUR RIGHTS, and try to not take things you know you don't need.

alternatives - obviously 🧬 is unaffected and it's business as usual, consider swapping methods either partially or entirely. for perishables, there's no harm in seeing if your local food pantry can take extra people (is it only near me where you have to sign up for it...!?)

i love each and every one of you and if companies weren't so fucking evil this would be a cool technology... but god we all know how shit the economy is. to tally a total and it's so much higher than it should be. many of us only have a taste of a form of proxy financial freedom though this and that can be invigorating, but if it's overconsumption, it isn't sustainable. i know that was a bunch of buzzwords back to back but it's true

how do you sneaky bitches conceal large clothing items on the floor?

i can barely slip in a pair of panties behind a rack at uo. how are summa yall shoving sweaters in ur bag in the middle of the store

I’ve done this once with a pink sweater since the counted going in and out of the fitting room. So what I did was I had the untagged sweater at the very bottom of a stack of four or five clothes hanging on my arm. As I walked around the store I discretely folded the sweater underneath until it would be the right size to just slip into my bag. Practice folding items at home and it should only take you a few seconds without even having to look at it. So the you know those displays that have clothes hung on them that you can just part? Part one and make it look like you’re looking for your size while putting the sweater in your bag on the other hand. If you do it well enough the clothing rack blocks the front of you, your body blocks one side and behind you, and the stack of clothes on your other hand blocks that side. If you conceal really fast it just looks like the clothes on your arm were a bit heavy so you were just adjusting your grip on them.

So I’m a huge fan of lululemon, particularly their leggings and I’ve went to two different stores to nab them. Here are my tips/tricks into getting them☺️

🍋 Go at a really busy point of the day, I would usually say about 12-3 on weekends and 3-6 on weekdays. These are when they are booming. check google it’ll give the busiest times when you search a specific store/shopping center/mall

🍋Depending on the store size is how lucky you’ll be, as well as combining it with busy times. All stores regardless of size have 1-2 girls standing to help people, and girls at the register. if you’re in a smaller store this won’t be good. The SAs tend to stand near the dressing rooms so they can be unlocked.

🍋Cameras are the tiny black domes and are placed masterfully in the corners of the store and near the bras. (From what I’ve seen) I have no knowledge if they are actively watched or not. I always assume they are. The good thing about this is that lulu tends to have a lot of free space so they have random tables with shorts or accessories that can work as a blind spot. The reason they work is because it’s not a set structure of the building so putting a camera in a space that is usually empty isn’t ideal.

🍋Methods will depend on how busy the store is or not. I like to on floor conceal what I’m going to take. So that may mean I wrap the leggings inside my jacket or drop them inside my bag while looking in the clothes racks. I grab decoys and head into the dressing room. DO NOT expect to walk into the dressing room with 5 pairs of leggings and a couple decoys. They will hold extra pairs of the same item, ESPECIALLY leggings. I have SEEN this happen to other girls holding a couple pairs and they can only take in one at a time. Your VERY best bet is to on floor conceal. The only way I could see you getting past bringing in multiple leggings is if you bring a friend to grab a couple pairs while you’re in the dressing room to “find the right size” and that is without the SA counting or noticing.

🍋Tags are hook, they are also a bit finnicky, I may explain this wrong but you should be bending your hook UP, to the top of the tag and then turn it. Also the pin is metal and you have to pull it out, it won’t just fall out. I grab the hook from the bottom with my one hand and pull the pin while I’m detagging. These tags also make clicking noises so I would cough to hide them. So again remember to grab the pin from the bottom and pull, then hold you hook bending up. If you do not bend the hook you will not get the pin. The hooks they sell online are not the same thickness. So please bend UP with the hook tag.

🍋RFID’s are also hidden in the price tag. I have personally forgotten to rip them and nothing ever happened but to deactivate them, cut or bend the price tag till it snaps. (They are made out of hard cardboard)

🌸Extra: Dress rich and sporty it really helps because then the SA’S will leave you alone more. Also please take your hangers with you, seriously DONT leave them, it’s a HUGE red flag and they will go after you. I would not suggest putting an article of different clothing on a hanger either. These are young girls but they are still pretty dedicated.
