Mein Auslandsjahr mit ASF - I

1. ASF is gay as hell!

Nach all dem Bewerbungsstress während der Abizeit, danach Unterlagen für das Visum, Visa-Karten, Paten sammeln, Arztbesuche, erste Vokabeln, etc. – ging es am ersten September 2017 endlich los – nach Hirschluch.

Hirschluch (liegt im Wald wie man sehen kann, nicht in der Nähe von Berlin, pah!), wo jedes Jahr das erste Vorbereitungsseminar mit allen Freiwilligen stattfindet, war vor allen Dingen kalt. Doch während ich gefroren habe wie ein Spatz, haben wir auch gleichzeitig viel gelernt und haben die ersten Kontakte geknüpft.

Dort ging es weniger darum, die anderen Israelfreiwilligen kennenzulernen, es gibt Stammgruppen, die nach späteren Einsatzbereichen zusammengestellt werden, und „TABs“, themensortierte Workshops bei denen man selber entscheidet, zu welchem man hingehen möchte.

Außerdem hat jede*r Freiwillige einen Gottesdienst in Berlin besucht und es gab eine ganze Menge Diskussion zu ASF und Kirche, ASF und Queerfeminismus, ASF und Sühne.

Was ich vom Auswahlseminar noch wusste: Gendergerechte Sprache ist Muss bei ASF (sehr sympathisch), was aber noch sympathischer ist, war die Queeroffenheit und die Selbstverständlichkeit mit der fast täglich queerfeministische Debatten angeboten wurden.

Beim Drag-King Workshop haben wir männliche Stereotype gesammelt und ich bin ich für einen Abend zum machohaften Karl geworden.

Am letzten Abend hat jede Landesgruppe einen Sketch vorgeführt – Israel mit gleich sechs Jesis (Jesussen?) auf der Bühne – und danach gab es eine Abschiedsparty in der Kapelle mit dem großen Dach bis die ersten schon wieder in den Flieger mussten.

Things that totally happened in the early days of the 5 year mission due to Jim and Spock sharing a bathroom:

Jim finding the water warm when opening the tap of the sink to brush his teeth and muttering, with sentiment: “who the hell brushes their teeth with hot water?” One day, he hears Spock answer from his quarters “I the hell do, sir.”

Bones having to treat severe burns once because Jim took a shower after Spock had and didn’t check the temperature. Spock always resets it to Jim’s preferred temperature from then on.

Jim accidentally getting out of the bathroom through Spock’s door after a shower, half naked, dripping and flushed and walking in on Spock meditating. Spock cannot focus on meditation for the next two days.

Spock being able to hear whenever Jim is sick, joining him quietly in the bathroom without saying a word, holding his forehead up, helping him clean and undress and tucking him into bed

Jim never turning on the light when he uses the bathroom in the middle of the night so he doesn’t wake Spock. Most of the times, he hits his head on the cupboard over the sink and swears under his breath, then he can hear the smile in Spock’s voice as he asks “are you alright, captain?” from his quarters. He still never turns on the light.

Spock also never turns on the light, but because he’s much more coordinated Jim will never know.

Jim stealing Spock’s make-up because honestly he has the best stuff out of the whole crew

Spock noticing how long Jim takes to get ready in the morning, especially if he has some important diplomat to meet and wears the dress uniform, so he teaches Jim tips and tricks to do his make-up faster and better

sharing the mirror to shave or do their make-up if they have to get ready quickly because it’s logical 

Jim giving himself razor cuts all. the. time. because he gets distracted watching Spock

Spock actually, truly bursting out laughing when one day Jim walks into the bathroom with a pillow crease tattooed across his face and being torn between yelling “dammit, Spock, it’s not funny!” and being too in love for words

basically just slipping in love so so easily over how comfortable and intimate and married they were with each other years before they actually married

Bagginshield headcanon I (Unexpected Journey)

- Since Biblo heard Thorin singing, he sees him with other eyes (finds him attractive) which is one of the subconscios reasions he follows the dwarfes. - Thorin starts to see Bilbo as an equal or even as quite sympathic after the troll incident but is too proud to show. - When Bilbo nearly falls off the cliff in the Misty Mountains, Thorin yells because he got scared and worries about him. He tries to protect him. - He knows he is a bit too disappointed when he thinks that Bilbo fled/relieved when he comes back. When he`s thinking back, Bilbos speech about home could be the moment he fell in love. - Bilbo knows he feels more for Thorin then he thought when he risks his life for him without thinking. - Bilbo risking his life for him makes Thorin happier than he has been for a long time and somehow getting back Erebor and Bilbo falling in love with him becomes one thing for him.

Why Bagginshield is fucking canon

- Bilbo risking his life for Thorin all the time - Thorin is nearly dead, wakes up: first question is Bilbo - The.acorn.will.become.an.oak - He trusts Bilbo more than the whole company - Thorin is possesed with the treasure, starts a whole war because he doesn't give away on! coin! but gives Bilbo one of the most valued objects like - in whole middle earth? - The acorn scene? every second of it? - "I know you must honor him. But to me he was never that. He was... To me... he was-" what Bilbo? What was he to you? Well, Balin understands at least^^
