As Chikorita age into Saursprout and grow stronger, the sweet aroma of their head leaf turns spicy, perking up surrounding Pokemon rather than soothing them. Once they are capable fighters, Saursprout control this shift in aromas as they get older to encourage other Pokemon to battle with them. [Old Version]
#153.5 - As Bayleef mature in Sepasaur, the leaf on the top of their head will dry out, and eventually fall off, revealing two stamen-like antennae within. The discarded leaf is often used by herbalists to create a powerful healing powder. In fact, fully mature Sepasaur—Meganium—possess the power to revive dead vegetation with only their breath. Bayleef’s fighting spirit mellows out with age, and the fragrance they give off as Sepasaur reflects that, becoming soothing once more. A trainer can tell how old a Sepasaur is by how open the petals around its neck are; once they are completely open, the Pokemon is very close to its final stage.

#154 Mega - When paired with Meganiumite and a Trainer it deeply trusts, a Meganium can Mega Evolve into the magnificent Mega Meganium. The power surge of Mega Evolution will trigger rapid growth, increasing Meganium in size and causing them to sprout three additional tiers of flowers around their necks. Their feelers become even more sensitive, detecting minute changes in the weather so that Mega Meganium can seek places where they can photosynthesize efficiently; they, they can instantly fire a powerful Solar Beam using massing amounts of solar energy stored within their four flowers. Mega Evolution also causes this Pokémon to gain the Fairy-typing. Their photosynthesis process creates a substance that exudes a special fragrance; in the right dosage, this substance can calm the feelings of those who smell it, but breathing in too much can cause agitation instead. Mega Evolution has made this gentle giant bolder – foes who are not weak to their solar beam attack will be crush by Mega Meganium’s physical combat.
