All those nights holding a smaller version of yourself, even with all her work, even when helping the others, at least she made a tiny space for you, and you knew that if you really needed her she would be there, that she would found you, that you would matter.
And you did, you always mattered, you knew you would miss her if you let yourself down from that chair, she indirectly saved you from demise, she pulled you out from the hole Jason left when he died, from Tim's cold shoulder, from Bruce's and Dick's absence, from Alfred's professionalismโฆ.
She is the reason you stopped wanting to be hurt, she made it stop hurting, indirectly she made you reject all the impulses to be bad, to be hurt.
"Bar-Barbara" you coughed out as you keep trying to pull yourself out, you tap her head with your other hand "please Barbara- sissy- Babs please" you half cry as the frustration bottles up
Your eyes freeze up at the visibly red clock with a count down
"we need to get out" you heard Yuta said with understandable concern "I'll call rika over so she takes us out without exposing us to whatever is the gas outside" he said through a worried voice, and you understood the worry, the concern, the obvious gas leaking through from under the door, the ticking clock going downโฆ

No one thinks twice before running to Oracle, to the original Batgirl to Barbara.
"You bastard!" Red Hood Jason screams at the Joker as Tim pushes him towards the Batmovil and Bruce gets on the driver's seat, from first to seventh gear in a blink of an eye

"halfway there" says Kate with such a deathly quietness, she must be driving like crazy, in the back can be heard an stressed Steph trying to keep calm

why can't i just be a better father why why why' Bruce can't help but over think the fact that all of his children have resulted either death or with such a trauma that they will probably have long life sequels, just like Joker Junior, owh Tim his precious son with an scarred smile and a missing spleen, his baby Jason, his death, crawling himself out of the coffin out from the dirt and the soil, Dukes family situation, jokerized forever, Barbara in a wheelchair, Dick not being able to handle the grief of killing this horrible being, it makes him disconsolate, he cannot stop this grief that has taken root deep inside his heart, this agony with a missing piece he doesn't know where it is or where he placed it, this agony of something missing and not being able to be filled, his heart dying with the agonizing truth that he can never protect his children in this war against the crime, against evil, that he is a bad mentor, a bad vigilante, a bad person but the crippling fear of being a bad father. Ironic isn't it?

Bruce hits the break so hard to make the car turn so the explosion doesnt hit them as hard the break stays put, the car rattles hard, and he instincively jumps to the back seat pulling Tim and Jason as far from the side that takes the explosion, and in the desperation pushing them both under his cape that its resistant to almost anything, he's holding them tight.
Kate does something similar pulling Stehp and Cass both under her cape and behind a wall, also shielding them from most of the hit, even as some of the glass and the rubble hits her, she won't yield, not for this, she will protect this girls with her life if needed.
fortunately Duke felt itand took cover faster than the others, rubble slammed into him , he's taken worse, he needs to step up, Barbara needs them, he needs to get UP! He needs to survive!
Dick doesnt even think twice before pulling himself and Damian onto the floor of the building they were on, shielding Damian from most of the wave, the crystals cracking breaking and rattling, shielding his baby brother from the explosion, holding him down with all his might so he doesn't do anything as stupid as jumping into the explosion, so much smoke its too much too much.

"Barbara!" you exclaim with such relief in your voice, Barbara just mutters something "im getting you out of here Babs i swear" you start to ramble through happy tears "dont. [Name]- we gotta wa-" she gets cut off by your voice "wait for Batman? for Bruce really?" you ask her with stress "Barbara more than half of you is under rubble!" you snap at her a bit, she raises her head to try and look at you but her glasses are broken and can't really see you
"i swear on my life im getting us out" you vow so silently and yet for the desiny for fate never, the sudden determination in your body is there you hold onto the metal bar and harden your back which has rubble and debris on top and start to stand up.

you break the base of the metal bar and stand, with a swift motion you pull it out and press over the wound, you crouch infront of Barbara

you said as you sniffled "Its gonna be okay, i promise" you walked to the begining of the big piece of ceiling thats over Barbara and crouch and effortlessly tossing it aside.

with just one arm you held the rubble annd with the other you pull barbara out "Does it hurt?" you ask concerned because Barbara seems so pale "nothing hurts..... can't feel my body" she said, and your blood runs cold, she looks so pale, so tired, she looks cold.
She feels cold oh so cold, perfect for sleep, why is she suddenly so tired why ? why?, something is wrong, so wrong, the explosion the joker the rubble the cold.
"Barbara will you still love me when i grow up?" you asked her one nigh when no one was on the cave only you and her alone
"always and forever" she says with an smile going through the GCTV's
the gas started to peer down the rubble, down with you and Barbara, and you are not going to stand that, not now and not ever, you pick Barbara up and jump over the rubble and run colling with the glass window to the next building.... where Damian and Dick are... on the same roof
you realize first "shit" you murmur, but its too late mostly too late, on the floor there is Damian and Dick, their heads wipped towards where you landed with Barabara on your arms, they are freezed up, the shadow of the burned down building covering your features.
Dick is quick too push Damian behind him and raised his esgrima sticks, a fighting stance, you just stared at him, at damian how dare he believe you would hurt your baby brother
"Save her" you begg, half cracked voice, Damian is the only one that feels his body tense up so fast, that voice.... he was right..... the voice on the comms, its you its you, his sister, why are you here, why cant he talk why why why, how are you here
you lower Barbara onto the floor before dissapearing onto the shadows... you can see Damians eyes and for a second you believe that you can see awarness, that you are noticed but no. you know better than that, you will never have a place here...

The sound of getting suited up, the roar of a car, and the motor of a bike, its a busy night, another breakout very common in gotham but the masked vigilantes are always there to save the city allways so present why not me? so devoted to the city, to the mission.
All of them fullfilling a role, a role designated for them.

They make a great team, perhaps the best one in the superhero world, they are a family.
The Batmovil moves with such ease and speed, Batman in the steering wheel, Red Robin on the passenger seat with an holographic panel where he is controlling the CCTV's getting intel and going through his strategies again.
Through the roofs on the other side of town is Nightwing and Robin, Nightwing deciding to help this week as the rising crime in Gotham is talked about in Bludhaven, He taking the lead in the patrol of this area of town and Robin shadowing him like a good partner, they are scouting sector B which seem to be having quite the activity this time of the year, Robin is scouting the surrounding streets from the rooftops, in a way Nightwing can still see him, it's not out of distrust, it's just to be careful, it seems they are gonna stop some Joker thugs and with luck stop his more recent macabre plan.
Orphan and Spoiler are patrolling the docks with a bit of extra help from Batwoman as they stepped in what looks like a drug trafficking operation and she was the bestest one to help, the docks have too much activity, they need to be fast, Oracle is the one on the front making an opening for them to step in as she punches her way through the armoured men towards the cabin where the capitan seems to be hiding, Spoiler Glitter bombing and kicking the soldiers as she tried to get to the boxes of drugs to get them away just incase they break, Batwoman tanking the bigger hits and kicking ass, taking on the bigger and heavier armoured men yet it's not much of a problem for her, she is trained and she knows very well what to do, she has a dutie to this city.... And to these kids too.
The Red hood as always on crime alley and the Narrows, tonight crime alley seem to have gone to hell, it's a fucking mess, some laughing gas is in the streets and he gotta stop that, he may not have the entire militia anymore but he still has too many resources, he's tailing a minivan that has tanks of laughing gas on the trunk as he's getting shot at, thanks for the tough helmet and padding, it's taking to much of the impacts, he is shooting at the minivan as he drives, Finally behind him he could see the Batmovil reincorporating itself behind him as back up, Red robin preparing to jump forward at anytime and batman pressing as fast as he could make the car go being able to get past the minivan and force them to stop the minivan, and pushing open out the doors.... the Joker
on the other side of gotham there was

"Batman, Hood, RR!" oracle exclaims with worry as she leans as much as she can towards the holographic screen, besides her Duke gearing up into his suit, preparing to go as back up if needed "Babs. on your word" he said seriously getting only a nod from Barbara as acknowledgment but not as a yes, more of a 'not yet'

Gathered up in a corner Gojo starts handing small talismans "LISTEN HERE KIDDOS this are for security measures OKAYYY?? so you gotta wear them! this will make us invisible to normal eyes okay" he explains, its gibberish in your head, you are just so focused on getting rid of all the buggs on the place before any of them realizes this place has been compromised, you just hear Gojo give the green light to start moving, with the talismans on no normal eye or electronic can detect them.
So you move, faster and more precise than your teammates with such ease you make your way to the upper floors faster than even Yuta, finding yourself fighting with Grade 2 curses and moving on through the floors, eliminating all of them until a heavy presence, a heavy feeling, something is wrong and the others seem to have caught up o that too, the chat is flooding with messages and Gojo being a pain, you can't help but be worried, worried about Barbara who is upstairs who wouldn't be able to run as fast as before, you donโt know if today is one of those days were everything hurts, you can't help but be reminded of the laugh of that laugh.
[Upper floors]
"Hood, RR, stay on position, B, careful I have a bad feeling about this" Oracle says through the comms, she is able to see all of Gotham be everywhere even if not in person, she can see, she always sees, and then he turns to the camera where she was looking at them and laughs, like a maniac "well isn't this fun? Us five together" the ones in front of him were confused and stand in shock when joker killed his two goons without a care "nowโฆ we are just us five" he says and Red Robinย of course tries to correct him "we are actually just four" he tries saying before getting interrupted by a cackle "well aint that just a matter of perspective son?" Red Hood stepped in front of Red Robin, The joker laugh manically as his face slowly turned and stared directly towards the exact camera Barbara was watching from and then turned to look at the Bat "Owh isn't this marvellous?! It's like we are a big happy family!" he starts cackling hard, maybe itโs the laugh gas "This fucker" Red Hood grunts as he pulls out his gun and points at the Joker, he is so angry, everything is Green, and suddenly for a moment he is there, he's back at the warehouse but just for a second because he feels his father's hand on his shoulder "Robin calm" he lowers the gun but always alert and as Always B in front of them always making the space between them and the danger.
"โฆ Duke" Barbara says and before she can turn around Duke is already on it, on his way to help his family
Meanwhile Barbara sends an standby for the others, just in case, something is wrong and she doesnโt know why.

"Babs what's going on?" Nightwing asks with mild concern, he knows his family is very capable but he can't help but just worry "The Reds and B have encountered Joker" She says with mild worry "B is there, I know they can handle it, and if they can't Robin and I will just sweep in and save 'em" he jokes with his such charismatic charm that manages to calm everyone and make them feel more safe, more secure, more confident. The line goes silent after a small 'thanks' from Barbara.
Now that that's dealt with he needs to know what happened to Robin's hand, if he thought that he wouldn't realize then Damian is doubting Dick's Older brother senses why not me
"Dami" he starts slow, nothing sudden so he doesn't scare the calm away "codenames Richard" Robin answers as he looks around the perimeter "Is your hand okay?" he starts directly yet slow "I notice things you know? Does it hurt?" not what happened, not an explanation but 'does it hurt?', validation for his feelings rather than what happened "no. it does not hurtโฆ Richard donโt you feel we are forgetting something? Its attaches to the gas tubes, Yuta seems to be fighting the curse well until he isn't and you got to intervein punching it and making it collide to one of the walls, you just hope the rattling of the walls didn't get to Barbara

"Duke is on his way B" Barbara says into the comms 'Thanks Oracle' Bruce answers with all that seriousness he always carries
"What is it this time Joker? We are done playing this stupid cat and mouse game" Batman says as he steps closer to the Joker and the man laughs "no no no Batsy, you do not get to decide that" he laughs, that Laughโฆ it's different, it's so familiar to Jason and Tim, that haunting laugh, Jason gets that feeling that dread "RR, something is very very wrong" he says just to Tim and at the same time loads one of his guns with actual bullets "I know. I donโt know what it could beโฆ wait waitโฆ" Tim in a moment of clarity realizes "Duke is coming" he says and Jason looks at him confused
"We left Barbara alone."
he says louder and even Bruce freezes up when he is about to get even closer "What did you do?!" and yet the Joker taunts him "owh no no no Batsy, donโt you wanna blow it up" he says with such an creepy smile as he pulls out and tiny box with a red button, and the dread fills their bodies
'uhm Guys? B? Hood? I can't hear you guys' the CCTV stops working the comms do too and as she is going to go for the back up the lights on the clocktower are gone

"Rant of my IDEA/SYNOPSIS:"
My idea was that, Bruce as the playboy he is, he in his very late teens or very early twenies, in one of his travels he meets this beatutiful woman and as casually as it can be they fall in "love" BUT Reader's mom has a duty with the zenins, she is supposed to be marry Ogi Zenin, but she runs away with Bruce and He takes her to America as he decides to "settle down".
Also we are gonna refer to Reader's mom as Futatsu (process of thought here too btw)
Her name can be split in different ways and give sus diferent meanings
Fu: so ่ (fว) means to rot, decay or become rotten,
Futa: is a Japanese reading associated with number two It is often used as a prefix or root for words related to two. In some specific, older, or archaic contexts, futa alone can represent the digit two.
and very good example is the word Twins, The most common way to write "twins" in Japanese is ๅๅญ (pronounced futago).
Tatsu: "Tatsu" in Japanese most commonly means "to stand" or "to stand up" (็ซใค). It is a very common verb used to describe standing, rising, or being established, such as buildings being built or smoke rising.

Settling down was nice, adaping to the city life was a bit more complicated but with Bruce not wanting to overwhelm Futatsu they kept it low and discreet as Gotham's Reporters were too much, Somehow lets say that Futatsu accepts Bruce's life style and desicion of being The Batman (all this is after ALL of his world travels traing so up to this point he already has meet Talia and Ra's) Until one date-night they go to the circus........ and their lifes change forever. a Little boy is left orphan, and how could poor young Bruce not see a reflection of himself in tiny young Richard Grayson, they take him in he adapts to them and the butler and He also adapts to the Robin life style he himself creates, Eventually some small misunderstandings and problems star to root deep in the relationship; with Richard out of the house and becoming more stubborn and Bruce growing a bit emotionally absent problems where clear to arrive until one fateful night Bruce took a stray from the street.... 12 year old Jason Peter Todd.... against all odds the boy showed to be more independent and resourceful than first thought, which was a nice change for the couple, the boy was polite and greatful, they provided him with love, care and an education, but he seemed lonely in the big mannor, and after sometime he was heard he got a sisters sister, Maki ______ Zenin

The Death of the family.
After his death it all went down, a heart broken parents, a lonely child, a sad buttler......

It didn't take long for Futatsu to be done with this type of life but mostly because of Bruce's emotional unaveilability and his complete denial of the situation making her just take her things and you.
Because of this Bruce obviosly would investigate wth is going on, realizing that she went back, and that she was married/engaged making him feel betrayed and staring a "fight" for custody, which was more like the Zenin's being petty, this cuarrels lasting 1 years and a half maybe 2,
making the Reader at most 8 or 9.
during that time, Reader meets her sister Mai, their bond its nice... even so you learn that your place is not one of respect or real stability just because you were born a girl.... and to top it off you didn't have what they called cursed energy, in their eyes you both were just things, tools with a destinated purpose, yet you didn't understand why, for you it didn't really make sense...

Your so mad, you see red, Bruce is not okay, he's coming more often to see you and Tim.
Tim stares at you too much, sometimes he regresses to JJ (Joker Junior), you refuse to call him like that so you decided to call him JJ, it's better for you and Tim

Sometimes he crashes out, blee the microwave once out of pure fun.
When he regresses to JJ he is a bit to much, it depends on the day, and sometimes its to much for you.
Sometimes you dont want to get up, life it's too hard, why get up, your tired en if you haven't done anything, eating feels like to much, blinking too, but.... You need to get up, and you will, your brother needs you and your father needs you, you can do it, your more than determined, your hope it self will keep you going.
Tim will get past this, you will all get past this, He's Determined, he wont lose this family, and you wont lose your brother.... Not again

He and Bruce flew to Europe with an excuse of looking for a lead of one of the cases they were working on (that's what they told everyone, even Alfred)
The next day Tim ended up meeting an Emo/goth!Teen!Reader that had a scowl (identical to bruce's when he gets pissed btw ) worse than Dick's when he met him (Tim), poor baby thought he was gonna get hated or screamed at.
Instead he got a sibling who would carry him around, coo at him, and baby him, they got him a new camera and coffee (decaffeinated and based on pure milk)
He drew stuff and she would stick it into the Fridge with a proud smile.
Tim would be able o rant for hours on stuff he liked and cases and Reader would sit there and listen.
Reader would bring him to her outings.
Tim won a big sibling, and Reader won a little brother + a shadow.
Tim followed reader around like a baby duck
They would go out to the park to take photos of birds plants, and everything, Reader would take Tim on her cool scooter.
Then they needed to go back to Gotham and Tim... cried a lot, wailed even as he hugged his now older sibling legs, he wanted Reader to go with them, but she couldn't, she had her life there, tho it broke her heart, but managed to keep Tim for crying promising that they could Facetime and call all the time.
Now Tim always went with Bruce every time he came to visit.
Every visit was somehow better than the last

Emotional neglect?, miscommunication, yandere (platonic) behavior if you squint (The Robins towards their dad in later chapters btw), the word Daddy is used affectionately and specifically in a platonic way as in father and daughter, pls don't be weird.
It's weird how everything started, he can't remember how did he got in this situation, him under the rubble with a half conscious Superman who's just laying there with kryptonite stabbed halfway into his side, he's pretty sure he has a broken rib and a ripped muscle, but he can't let his best friend co-worker just lay there as he bleeds out, so he crawls out of the rubble and immediately goes to do the first aid that he learned at med school.

He walks away. He's tired and stressed out of medication, and Clark is still unconscious, so he walks back into his room to think, how can he keep this up? He is exhausted. At some point, he starts packing a suitcase without even realizing it. He also calls his assistant, asking her to blank out all of his meeting and other Wayne Enterprises Activities for an undefined time but if they need something urgently to give him a call.
He's not sure when he called a driver to pick him up, or at which moment he stepped into his Private Jet. The only thing he's sure about is that he is going to France, to Paris, to be more exact, to visit his daughter, his first biological child. After all, it is the scheduled visit he usually makes, only that this time he's half a month earlier.

OH THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU PAPA, I'VE MISSED U SO MUCH!, you're gonna love the new things I've done! so much stuff has happened and I NEED to tell you!!!!!!" you can't help but be so happy about it, it's your dad and he's coming to see you, he always does every 2 or 3 months and it's great, the weeks he spends with you are the best, he makes breakfast, takes you to father-daughter dates, you both volunteer at community stuff, its so splendid the time you spend with him even tho its kinda limited BUT that makes every single moment even better! "when do arrive papa?" you ask with a smile "Tomorrow morning" and another happy scream is heard, yeah he loves his daughter, because she may be a bit spoiled but he taught her better, she's spoiled not rotten and the only "normal" child he has...... Duke is Adopted cause of his parents situation (they are jokerized) and he's a meta (also the only bat that does patrols at Daytime) and he was the lider of the ROBINS club, bro literally had a mini gang of people calling themself's Robins to help Batman (i havent read stuff in a while so FEEL FREE TO CORRECT ME)
Barbara was there from the start and even before Dick in some characterizations (or shes as old as Bruce, as she sould be) Girl has gotten DE-aged so many times just to be shipped, GIRL DESERVES BETTER, so she should be older than him atleast by 7 years plssss, and when she started as Batgirl she didn't even worked for bruce.

Bruce DIDNT make Damian Robin, DICK did MEANWHILE TIM was STILL Robin, i think he did it for Tim's mental health too cause when bruce was death (time stream) Tim went a bit nuts trying to prove he was alive, Dick said or threaten (i dunt remember perfectly ) to put Tim into Arkham, wich obviosly made Tim fucking angry, so thats why Red Robin exists (and also the drake suit shit i think) Bruce would probably have not turned Damian Robin (beacuse he wasn't calified at least not Socially)
