Okay, but also: if you see a Muslim praying in public and they have something in front of them, like a purse or a bag or something like that, you can pass in front of them, but pass in front of that object.
it’s called a sutrah, and it’s meant to act as a physical barrier between the person praying and someone who might happen to pass in front.
Also, if you did this and didn’t know, please don’t beat yourself up over it. Now you know! Muslims aren’t supposed to pass in front of Muslims praying, either, because prayer is communication with God and you don’t want to break that connection.
Spread culture, respect customs, be good people. Simple as that.

Hello! Another thing is that : if a muslim is praying and gesturing to you WHILE praying, that usually means they’re almost over and you can ask them if you can go infront of them! Praying usually means you can not talk to other people around you unless absolutely necessary (even then, you redo it). So yeah! In reality, populations only rise so sharply as people begin to receive better access to healthcare and maternal and infant mortality in particular decrease. Eventually, as healthcare access is more evenly distributed through a population and people on a larger scale are able to access family planning care, the population stops increasing and levels out and decreases.
Which is why so-called ‘developed’ are all now manufacturing a crisis about population decline and not having enough bodies to fill out the labor force while simultaneously fearmongering about overpopulation in racialized groups. It’s eugenics shit.

But there were days when my class taught about it, and it gave me a jumping point for when I eventually did my own research.

i NEED people to realise foreshadowing is. in fact. a literary device. and not a Bad Thing. the audience picking up on your hints is a Good Thing. because. it makes the story and it’s conclusion make sense. and some people will not see those but enjoy seeing them on a second read through. red herrings are one thing but if your novel consists of nothing but red herrings it’s not a coherent story it’s just a collection of paragraphs that don’t actually plausibly link to one another. you're not fighting with the audience you don’t look clever you look like you don’t know how basic fiction works. be vulnerable for once in your goddamn life and don't treat writing like a game to be won where the audience losing is a good thing.
man sometimes i think of the “clanker” trend and its like man some people DESPERATELY want to be racist without actually being perceived as racist. im a Star Wars fan so when i first heard it i was like okay chuckle that’s funny I hate ai and its a reference to a thing i like and then it gained traction and people were saying it with SO MUCH like…enthusiasm and venom that it felt like yall just want to say another word.
