Bruce Banner and the Hulk

What if I said Bruce Banner is a more interesting and complex character than Hulk? And I wished more media (MCU, Comics, Games, Cartoons) focused more on him than his green alter ego.

Bruce is such a treasure trove of potential, with his backstory and family having such interesting storylines that unfortunately end up being at most foot notes in almost every story.

The MCU tried to give Bruce more focus (and they did for some time) but at the end his character ended up among the many that were sidelined and forgotten about.

And it pains me because when we got focus on Bruce it was good, his speech in Avengers 1, his several of his scenes in AAOU, TR, SH and IW.

His scenes with Jen in She Hulk were among my favorites because they show a side of Bruce with hadn’t really seen before. His interactions with the rest of his family left me wanting more.

Maybe I just like Bruce more but I think he is the better character between him and Hulk, and should be given more spotlight.

It was so fun to come up with differend designs for her, making it familliar and yet distinct and functional at the same time (heels are there for a reason in fact).

Thor’s Death in Doomsday

There are a lot of theories surrounding the posibility of Thor dying in Doomsday, many of which are reasonable others not.

But regardless of sense or reason if Thor is going to die in Doomsday I want it to be in Loki’s arms.

Paralleling all those other times Loki “died” in Thor’s, it would be poetic. A cycle and an amazing opportunity to develop their relationship and Loki’s character.

I really hope he has a hero’s send off, he deserves it.

Steve Rogers in Doomsday

I love Steve, I truly do. His movies are some of the best in the MCU to date. His characterization and arc was amazing (excluding his finale). I truly love Steven Grant Rogers .

That said, he should have stayed in the past. Bringing him back opened an entire Pandora’s box of issues that honestly ruin a lot of things.

I understand Thor being a main character in DD, he is a powerhouse that despite the blunders of TLAT has had a really solid character arc that remains unfinished.

But Steve? He died in TFATWS. That was supposed to be the end.

To not only bring him back but make him a main character ruins not only his arc but SAM FUCKING WILSON’S.

BECAUSE LETS TALK FOR A MINUTE ABOUT THE ABSOLUTE DISRESPECT THEY HAVE SUBJECTED THAT MAN TO.

First they give him his first solo movie and it is a B tier at most (and that is coming from someone who enjoyed it), that was clearly done last minute with a billion edits and not enough time dedicated to the script.

Then they ruin the character development of his relationship with Bucky and sideline him in the creation of the New Avengers when him creating the new group was a plot line established in CABNW and HIS FUCKING RIGHT as Captain America but no let’s make VALENTINA.

A FUCKING VILLAIN be the one to do it and have Bucky (Sam’s best friend) do NOTHING about it.

(you could also add how there is basically almost no merch of Sam as Cap but that is another can of worms)

And NOW they are bringing STEVE BACK AND SIDELINING SAM?!?!

Be fucking for real.

I am mad, furious at how Sam is getting treated.

I truly understand why Thor is the one doing the speech but that doesn’t erase the horribly bitter taste in my mouth.

I truly hope Sam gets his flowers and the respect he deserves.

Avengers Doomsday Spoilers

The Gambit vs Shang Chi fight

I love Gambit, I truly do.

But by the Vishanti he should NOT win his fight against Shang Chi. He is outmatched in every possible stat.

Shang Chi is a better hand to hand fighter.

He has better range and attack potency.

He has more combat experience.

He is smarter and better trained.

The hax granted by the rings are better than Gambit’s mutation.

Among a million other things. He is not winning that fight unless they somehow heavily nerf Shang Chi which would be incredibly infuriating if they did considering we have not seen him since 2021.

Shang Chi deserves his moment to shine and considering how massive the cast is this might be his only moment to do so and if they squander it just to make the X-men look cooler I will scream.

Channing Tatum’s Gambit doesn’t have any feats that put him even close to Shang Chi and I hope Marvel respects their own power scaling.

The Boys Finale Theory

I may be onto something. I may not. I will let you decide.

My theory is that instead of MM, Kimiko and Frenchie dying, that one that will kick the bucket is going to be Hughie. Why? Because that is the only way for everyone to go scorched earth, Hughie is the one that keeps the team moral afloat. He is the glue that keeps them together. The only one that sees the light at the end of the tunnel.

His death would gut everyone.

It would be the drop that overfills the bucket for MM, who had always been protective of Hughie and often saw him as the best of the group.

Kimiko would be distraught over losing another close friend.

Same with Frenchie who has grown close to Hughie as the seasons go on and has come to hold him in high steem.

But the ones his death would hit the hardest would be Butcher and Starlight. His death could be the thing that severs Butcher’s last ties to humanity and family (double so considering the Lenny and Hughie parallels) and send Annie off the deep end, specially considering her “I don’t know if I can see you die” comment.

(Kinda like a call back to the whole “Hughie is your canary” speech in which MM told Butcher “not to let his canary die because he would be lost if he did”)

Who kills him? I don’t know. Homelander? Soldierboy? Someone else? I don’t know but every option is a different but just as deadly wound.

The season has made several mentions on how Hughie is the only one that thinks things can get better and the show has repeatedly said this ending is a “scorched earth” ending, and you can’t have that if one of your characters is actively representing the light at the end of the tunnel.

The show is already so different from the comics them changing the survivors would not surprise me.

I even think it might be a good plot twist.

Shang Chi’s Timeline and Involvement in the MCU

It is kinda wild to think SCLTR takes place during 2024 and Thunderbolts (the latest sacred timeline movie) during 2027, meaning Shang Chi has just been running around with the Ten Rings for 3 years with absolutely no affiliation to any mayor faction in the MCU.

Almost no one even knows he or the Ten Rings exist. The people on the video call during the post credit scene are the only ones that know but they are all scattered and from different factions so it leads to nothing.

It gets wilder the more you realize just how much of a powerhouse Shang Chi is. Even without the rings he is a top 5/3 best martial artists from the entire MCU (which is filled with them) and one of the most skilled assassins in the world.

With the Rings he becomes a true heavy hitter, as shown by the fact he quite easily killed the Dweller in Darkness mere minutes after getting the rings.

I wonder how he will interact with the other major players considering he is from one of more secluded corners of the MCU. I can’t wait to see his role in Doomsday.

Nice and Lin Ling

I once heard someone say the reason Nice couldn’t climb the hero ranks was because he stood for nothing.

That while other heroes had messages and politics, Nice did not.

And I think even while pretending to be Nice Lin Ling did stand for something, that despite the control of Miss J he was slowly making the Nice persona into something closer to a true hero.

The original Nice was created to be nice and liked by all, sanitized and unproblematic. To the degree anything resembling a personality or opinions could never form and as such the game he gained was largely from a superficial audience.

The original Nice was a mask with nothing of substance underneath by design.

In contrast, the reason Lin ling was able to climb the ranks so quickly despite his relatively short time as a hero (compared to the years Nice spent as one) was due to the fact he made moves, he was genuine and thus he carried meaning.

His heartfelt and genuine speech on the show.

His tears at Moon’s funeral

His empathy towards Wolf girl

Him saving Firm man 

In that short list he already showed more character and substance than Nice his entire career and as such was able to climb much quicker and higher than OG Nice ever could.

It was because of these actions that The Commoner went from being a nobody to the top 10 hero. It was because of those actions that Nice’s fans began trusting Lin Ling despite having been a fact, they remembered his tears and devotion, the vulnerability of them. Which in turn made them believe in him.

The original nice was limited by the persona he was given and by having Shang De’s personal oversight. In that way having Miss J as a manager was beneficial to LL, because while strict and ruthless she was willing to listen to Ling Ling and did not just impose his opinion on him like Shang De did.

Tony and Brand New Day

After watching the Spiderman Brand New Day trailer I know for a fact Anthony Edward Stark is rolling, no not rolling WRITHING in his grave right now.

I know he is kicking and screaming into the void right now. Trashing and punching at his watery grave.

I would like to think he already double killed Beck the moment he steeped foot in the afterlife and was ready for the Green Goblin.

It is a special kind of tragedy, to know Tony loved Peter so much he was willing to put his perfect life in risk to bring him back.

Tony who after a life on misery was finally truly happy.

Yet he was willing to risk it all for the chance to bring Peter back.

Not only that, he also left Peter with access to everything he would need to have an amazing life.

Money, connections, technology.

Tony wove a safety net for Peter because he loved him so much.

And it all got fucked over because Talos was an idiot who was walking around with Nick Fury’s power yet none of his intelligence and cunning.

I’m still mad about that.

Tony Stark invented time-travel for a child nobody even remembers anymore.

Other Zombie Survivors VS Marvel Zombies

The scenario is simple, are there any survivors in other zombie media you think would be able to survive in the Marvel Zombies (2025) universe?

They can be from video games, movies, manga, anime, tv shows, etc.

The survivor would be placed in the universe pre the new tv show having the opportunity to meet the same people (Brunhilde, Shang Chi, The Widows, Blade, etc) and facing similar zombies (aka zombie cap, ghost, thanos, namor etc)

So are there any survivors who could venture into super hell and make it out?

(Wanda was taken out of the equation to make it fair, but if you think there is a zombie hunter who could take her put them in the comments)

Character Design in HH and ROR

Something I’ve noticed when it comes to people criticizing the character design for these two shows is that those criticisms are often based on expectations and/or opinions viewers have on what the characters should look like.

Because by themselves no design in HH or ROR is bad, both series have extremely unique characters with designs that fit their personalities and settings extremely well.

I personally think the accusations of bad character design come from preconceived notions of what they should look like. Let’s take Hades from ROR and Beelzebub from HB, both are good designs that fit their characters and the aesthetic of their worlds extremely well but are considered bad because they don’t align with what people from their out of universe knowledge and lore think they should look like.

Forgetting these characters are not the exact same as the mythological characters they are based on. They are interpretations whose main priority is fitting into their respective words, not real life mythology. Hades keep the trend of what we have been shown Greek gods look and act like in ROR, and Beelzebub looks canine and bee like because she is essentially the hellhound’s patron goddess and her entire situation with the honey.

Maybe it doesn’t fit what people want these characters to look and act like based strictly on their real world mythology, but they were never going to fit in the first place. Their priority is to their respective stories, not what someone else thinks it is.

The humans, gods and sins may not look like exact historical recreations but that doesn’t make them flawed, there is value in historical accuracy I don’t deny that nor do I deny that artist liberties may sometimes be used to cover up rascism.

Doomsday Angst Edits

Once Doomsday comes out, if I see any edits with Doom and Peter/Pepper/Rhodey to that one Silent Hill audio I am going to die. They are all going to kill me in differently brutal ways. Like imagine this with slight tweaks depending on the person Doom is interacting with.

Captain America are Artists

Steve draws and he does so magnificently, even when he thinks it is not that good and duty drowns him. He often re-used pages and pushed his pencils until they were little nubs, always hoped to buy a nice sketchbook. He often drew the other Avengers in his free time whenever they lounged together. Had a luxury sketchbook bought by Tony filled with drawings of his teammates and the tower, Tony often splurged on expensive art supplies for Steve. He would often sketch Bucky’s face over and over as to not forget him, even though he knows he had super soldier memory.

Sam dances and sings, it is a form of expression a way to let free. He is also from Louisiana and grew up in a happy community where I believe this was encouraged. He has his preferred dancing styles but is extremely versatile and can learn really quickly. He and his sister once won a competition together. He considers himself a better dancer than singer but Sarah tells him otherwise. He only really sings when he is really happy. After TFATWS, he would often sing to Bucky in the morning, dancing around him. He stopped singing and dancing for a while after Riley died.

John paints, as a child he won a small art kit as a kid and discovered his talent at it. His mother encouraged it buying him better supplies when she could afford it. He met Olivia in an art store whole buying supplies in High school, she did clay statues and asked him to paint them. Watercolor is his preference though he is skilled in oil as well but doesn’t like it because of the smell, specially after becoming a super soldier. He stopped pairing after Lemar’s death, he couldn’t even look at his art. Didn’t touch a brush until after the TB had settled into the tower, painting the view and his teammates.

Can’t People Enjoy Something Without Hating on Something Else?

I watched the new Superman movie and I ADORED it. Honestly amazing and I have nothing but praises to sing for it but something that has caught my attention is how some people praise this movie while throwing hate onto MOS and BVS, most of which comes from a lack of understanding of the plot of those movies or just nonsensical takes.

Can’t people simply enjoy something without pushing down something else? It is a genuine question because almost 50% of praises I’ve heard for this movie always seem to come with an insult towards MOS and BVS included, like a toy in a cereal box.

I am not saying those movies are perfect but how people praise the new superman film for things they criticized in the other two strikes me as hypocritical.

For example: people criticized and hated on BVS for the fact his eyes flashed red when Lex Luthor threw pictures of his kidnapped and brutalized elderly mother in his face while actively mocking him but those same people praised Superman 2025 Clark when he screamed in Lex’s face, threw a desk, shattered a door and threatened him over a dog (I am a dog owner myself, I get feeling protective over them) yet he got nothing but praise for it.

As Wanda said it hardly seems fair.

For those willing to give BVS and MOS a chance to metaphorically explain themselves I recommend watching the video “Why you are wrong about Batman v Superman” by Twin Perfect on YouTube, he has an couple of videos dedicated to explaining common misconceptions and misunderstandings people have about this films, from plot, to themes and characterization. I also recommend Implicitly Pretentious’ video “Batman v Superman”.

If you are willing to give these movies the chance you’ll find they are better than they are given credit for.

Anyways l loved both versions of Superman as one loves different but equally delicious plates of food.
