Ao3 is actually massively culturally important and very very good at being what it is. I’m so serious when I say that ao3 needs to be protected as the anti censorship, by fans for fans, nonprofit, volunteer run, expertly designed archival site that it is. You don’t have to read or like fanfiction to understand that on principle, ao3 is a site that should be defended.

AO3 is huge help against censorship and a very open and well done creative platform that has over 11 million works and God knows how many users. Please don't refresh, spread the news, do your research, and save your fics for when it's back online.

The DDOS attack is to get money from AO3, a nonprofit, volunteer organization and they need a lot of time and effort to stop it. They're targeting Ao3 because it's such a large platform but this is also an attempt at censorship. This is hateful and greedy and the only thing most of us can do is wait it out. Please be patient and if they ask for donations please be willing to send a little if you're able to do so.

Omg my friend @laylax13s left me super nice comments here and on Ao3 she's so sweet <3 I also had someone tell me they adored and AU I did because I added canon elements. Layla always got super excited over the same AU and they told me they really liked my writing so I think those are the best compliment(s) I've gotten really. 🤗

I've never been criticized super harshly for my writing. I had someone tell me they thought my OC was annoying but that was also my goal so I don't really find it harsh. The OC was supposed to be a really out there and kind of annoying character so I didn't really mind the criticism. Thankfully most of my criticisms have been really constructive and nice. 😁
