My Intro Post <3

My name is Jayne (Jay for short). I'm 18 and UK based. I'm biromantic ace, non-binary, and use they/them pronouns. I'm often found with a coffee and a podcast. This is my digital diary, I post based on all my interests :)

I'm autistic, dyslexic, plural (DID), and chronically ill. I also have a genetic disorder called Turner Syndrome.

I miss when ads were a single click and then they’re gone. Now every ad has a minimum of three phases where you watch a video, exit the still frame of fake gameplay, and then exit the app download. That doesn’t even touch on the ones that forcibly take you to another app after opening a tab in safari without you ever touching the screen.

I hate advertising. I hate that you can’t do anything without companies jumping down your throat with mostly bullshit ads. I hate that billboards exist. I hate that every company unanimously decided to make their ads longer and longer. I hate that ad blockers try to charge you money and there are in app purchases to remove ads. I hate that my attention has become commodified. I hate that there’s nothing I can do about it.

being a factive is a neutral state being, with the amazing diversity of existence alongside the beautiful variety of experiences factives can have. with however you navigate being yourself, you are always deserving of respect and compassion. and there are more factives out there than one may think, even if some are hiding who they are. everyone deserves some sort of space to be able to talk about who they are, and it is more than okay to create such a space if you can't find any that suit you.

Ok guys help. I reserved a train ticket: window seat with table. Carriage D seat 14 was an aisle seat with no table. Am I right to be annoyed? Idk I feel bad for complaining about a free seat 🫩🫶

Today I went to Oxford! Ive never seen a city so easy to both romanticise and deromanticise at the same time.

me as a teenager: man it sucks to have no privacy or autonomy but i guess its for a good reason. when i turn 18 i will realise how young i was and understand why they did all that.

me as an adult: teenagers are an oppressed class, their abuse is normalised and systemic and they need to start killing people

Babel by R.F Kuang

This book knew how to be fast paced when needed, and slow paced when needed. It shows the clear divide between classes and racists, showing the institutionalised prejudice. Great world-building, an incredible intro urban fantasy and dark academia as a genre.

The placement of the chapters seemed random, but it wasn’t an issue. Some footnotes added incredible detail, whilst some felt like they were added for the sake of being there.
