I feel like simply calling JK Rowling a transphobe isn't strong enough anymore. Like. This is not your grandpa calling you by your deadname at a restaurant kind of transphobic. This is her wanting to eradicate all trans people (with an extra special hatred towards trans women specifically). This is her trying just that by personally funding transphobic hate groups with millions to push around laws in the UK. It is not hyperbolic to call her a dangerous, genocidal maniac.

I'm not even kidding it's so clear that everyone sees black people and especially black women as some sort of alternate species. I'm getting into doll collection & customization videos because I've been getting into collecting myself and toys and art are supposed to bring me happiness and even there I can't escape the anti blackness. Like... you're lucky if you find a character or doll that's consistently brown skinned and carefully designed in popular brands. Collectors will always favor light skin or fantasy colors anyways. I had to watch a white creator call a custom Garnet doll "dummy thicc" and describe her in progress proportions as "female rappery" why couldn't just have said curvy? The discourse afaik started with the very real and very insidious practice of white producers functionally dominating Black music for decades, paying Black artists peanuts or nothing & pushing for (better-paid, more mainstream-palatable) white artists playing in Black styles. In the sphere I'm most personally familiar with, it looks like most indigenous artforms that white people encounter in their lives being produced by and for settlers, and the profits largely being aggregated to settlers while traditional ndn artists struggle. I think using the terminology and losing sight of the economic damage - especially in favor of more nebulous frames like cultural authenticity - is doing real harm by dilution and contributing to the very thing it purports to fight
