Hilarious thing about West Coast Avengers is that John Byrne kind of fucks off midway through the "Wanda Goes Crazy!" arc he was doing and leaves Roy Thomas to fix it, and something WCA had been doing was having Tigra become increasingly animal like, so. in WCA. Hank Pym shrinks Tigra down and puts her into a glass case. and then they all have to go to space to save Wanda because Magneto and Immortus are manipulating her or whatever and he forgets about her but then he comes back and sees she's escaped while tiny and it's just this hilarious comedy of errors where Wanda is still going crazy and everyone is getting their asses beat by her and meanwhile Hank is running around the grounds of their estate trying to find Tigra in the grass because he lost her.

The Superman trailer is a love letter to brighter days and the foundational hope of Superman that has been missing for a long time in modern day adaptations.

A little kid stands out in the middle of a war torn area and hopes that Superman will come save him. It is his salvation amidst a sea of pain. A little girl in the middle of a city wide fight and hopes that she makes it to another day and that a hero could save her from the battles she could never fight.

And Superman will come save him. And Superman will come to save her. Superman will cry when holding the body of his broken friend, and he will desperately try not to break down in a world that is cruel. Superman sees all of the cruelty in the world, and decides to help anyway.

That is what Superman does. He brings back hope and above all, kindness, in a world that is devoid in it. He is the streak of light in an otherwise empty sky.

I haven’t seen that Superman in a long time. The trailer looks unapologetically bright, colorful and a reminder that Superman is not a symbol of power, but a symbol of your fellow man and the capacity to do good.
