thinking about the concept of usagi being infantilised because of his species. over time he grows to dislike being called ‘cute’ because its usually people not taking him seriously or just acting plain weird towards him.

at first leo just thinks its because he’s embarrassed at being called cute. i can just imagine usagi opening up about it one day and leo reassuring him that he doesn’t see him as any less capable. he also is a little bit more mindful at giving him different kinds of compliments from then on

since leo is so family oriented, i like to imagine the transition of his feelings for usagi from friends (considering he treats his other friends like family) to romantic is a bit rough for him.

what if it’s not a happy confession? what if he’s saying all the ways he admires usagi because he can’t keep it in anymore and mutters at the end that its ‘not like a friend’ like it’s the guiltiest thing in the world?

just the idea of their friendship meaning so much to leo and the idea of losing it terrifying him to his core
