Hi I have not posted here forever. And idk if I ever will tbh. For the last several years I have been trying to stay more distanced from politics, though that hasn't exactly worked with Tumblr and the internet lol.

When I still ran this blog I was on Amino and I was in a conservative group. I originally joined and made this blog because I had my political beliefs following the anti sjw movement of 2016 and so. The Amino was terrible, met some truly bigoted people there, and Amino in general is just awful and I only finally left the app around last year. Amino in general seems to be very controversial, but I also associate my time using it with some of my worst moments. But I've also met people I'm still friends with to this day and I'd say we've all grown since we first met, including me.

I'm not going to pretend I know everything I posted here, even if it's a lot less then my main, but I have definitely changed my opinions over the years. (If you need a label, the last time I took that political test it labeled me as a bleeding heart liberal, but I don't care about labels when it comes to that and me specifically. Like I doubt I'll fit in one preexisting box of political ideas. I could also call myself left wing, but again idk.) Point is, my opinions have changed and I doubt this blog with holds my same beliefs. I made this side blog cause I didn't want to spam political posts on my main, and then I tried to distance myself with politics for a bit, and then I learned more things and I'm more confident in my beliefs. I also just don't care what I spam on my main anymore lmao

I just want to make a general statement before I leave this blog again. If you remember this blog at all, pay attention.

If I have made any generally harmful statements about groups of people, I am sorry. I am learning everyday and I know I was wrong about many things, including my beliefs as a teenager. I cannot name everything I disavow cause I don't want to scroll this blog, but I have changed many of my opinions and this blog doesn't 100% reflect me anymore. Also if anyone sees this at all, please have a good day!

I am thinking of archiving the blog, but I'm not sure. I deleted two other blogs before this, but for some reason deleting this feels wrong, like I'm hiding my past or something. We'll see, but you won't see any posts from me sadly. It should also be noted that this was not even a standard police officer, not if that would’ve made it OK, but this was a corrections officer. He works inside a tail. The Army of Poland employed a brown bear as part of an artillery team in the Second World War. His name was Wojtek (pronounced "voytek") and he worked in the 22nd Artillery Company.

In spring of 1942, after the Soviet invasion of Poland in 1939, thousands of Polish citizens and elements of the Polish military were deported from Soviet territory. They journeyed through Iran to British Palestine.

Along the way, they encountered an Iranian boy with an orphaned bear cub. According to the boy, the cub's mother had been killed by hunters. The teenage neice of a Polish general convinced an officer to buy the bear cub, which they nursed back to health and eventually made their mascot.

The bear was trained to perform a military salute, cuddle with soldiers on cold nights, and even march with them by standing on his back legs. He copied the soldiers in every way, even attempting to smoke cigarettes (he usually just ate them).

When the Polish army finally reunited with allied forces, they were assigned to join the invasion of Italy alongside the British 8th Army. However, the transport ships banned all pets and mascot animals.

The Poles refused to leave Wojtek, and got around the rule by drafting the bear into the army as a legally recognized soldier. He had his own personal records files, his own paycheck, his own dogtag ID number, and even held the rank of Private.

It wasn't symbolic, either. Private Wojtek actually participated in combat at the Battle of Monte Casino by carrying 100-pound crates full of artillery shells. It was a job that normal required four men, but Wojtek did it alone and perfectly, never dropping a single shell. His actions kept the artillery barrage well supplied until Allied forces finally seized the fortified mountaintop from Nazi paratroopers.

In recognition of his excellent performance, Private Wojtek was promoted to Corporal Wojtek and the 22nd Artillery Company made their flag the image of a bear lifting an artillery shell. They still use that flag today.

After the war, Corporal Wojtek retired to the Edinburgh Zoo in Scotland, where he was frequently visited by fellow Polish veterans, who game him cigarettes just like old times. He enjoyed a long and happy life, weighing over 1,000 pounds as any successful brown bear should. There are several memorials in his honor, both in Poland and Scotland.

I am not homophobic, at all. I am an aspiring writer and have several lgbt characters in my ideas, I myself count by many as lgbt (asexual). But my characters and I are in the age range where we are allowed to explore our sexuality. (16 - 25 to be precise)

But in movies like Luca, where the main characters shouldn’t be older than 12. They are being claimed left and right that they are so GAYYY.

This is NOT okay. children their age should not question their sexuality, they need to worry about learning in school and making friends. Even if they end up making just one friend, they learn that a friend is what they need first before a boyfriend or girlfriend.

Now I have not seen Luca just yet, I plan to, but I can see clear as day that it focuses on a friendship between two boys. And that should be it. Because, again, they are 10 years old, children their age should never think if they should kiss a boy or a girl.

That is all, if you have made it this far. Thank you for listening, hopefully I opened your eyes on this topic. This has been on my mind for weeks now and I hate how the world sexualizes children this way. Even if I receive mountains of hate I believe this needs to be said.

It’s very interesting to me that the “they’re children!!!! They can’t have a sexuality!!!” Argument only seems to come up when we’re discussing homosexuality.

Never when people refer to three year old boys as a ladies man, or when people say a toddler girl will grow up to be boy crazy. Never when adults tease little boys about their “girlfriend”, or ask a little girl if she has a boyfriend yet. Never when Disney or Nickelodeon type shows have middle schoolers making out, or the “girl-obsessed little brother” trope.

Yet when a movie comes out that could easily be interpreted as two boys experiencing a childhood crush (common experience), suddenly everybody is freaking out because “how could you possibly sexualize children???”. And then they go and watch a movie like Snow White, because a 14 year old getting carried off by a prince is completely fine. Two 13-14 year old boys having a crush on each other though… oh, no, that’s too far. That’s sexual. That’s wrong.

What I’m seeing here is the assumption that homosexuality is inherently sexual, while heterosexuality is not. Being gay (and bi) is seen as something raunchy and adult… but being straight is pure and appropriate for children. It’s why so many gay and bi kids come out to their parents, only to be met with “you’re too young to know that!!”… but apparently not too young to be straight, as these are often the same parents who will do things like claim their little boy likes to impress the ladies, or that their little girl already has her eyes on the boys.

Let me tell you something that might absolutely shock you, op. I realized I had crushes on girls at age 11. I realized I was gay around 11-12. It happens. There was nothing sexual about it, because being gay is not inherently sexual. It was childhood crushes, as many straight people get to have without receiving the kind of backlash gay and bi people do for it. And guess what? There’s lots of other people who have similar experiences. Have you ever stopped to think that maybe the people claiming Luca and Alberto are gay, are people who understand that kids have crushes, and that this doesn’t just apply to straight kids?

You can tell me all you want how not homophobic you are because you write about lgbt characters. That means nothing to me when you then go on about how being gay is inherently sexual. Because that’s what you’re saying, here. You are saying that two boys can’t have a crush on one another because that’s inherently sexual. You saw people say “gay”, and assumed it meant something sexual. That’s your problem, not the problem of people who recognize that kids have crushes, and that Luca can easily be interpreted as kids having crushes. Because as previously mentioned, kids having crushes—yes, even on the same sex!!—is absolutely possible. I know because I was a Luca or Alberto at one point in my life. I was 11-14, having crushes on girls, and knowing that’s what was happening. Many other gay and bi people can tell you the same thing.

So unless you want to tell me, at risk of sounding like every other homophobe, that I was doing something I wasn’t allowed to do, that I was being sexual, that I should’ve been focusing on everything else except for my homosexuality… I hope that you can come to terms with the fact that being gay is not inherently sexual. Seeing Luca as the story of two boys having a crush on each other is not sexualizing children, because crushes are not inherently sexual.

And by the way, I have watched Luca. It’s very easy to interpret the whole storyline as a gay/bi coming out story. I’m not saying you personally have to interpret out like that, but I am saying that there’s a reason the “they’re gay” headcanon is so popular, and it might be partly because of gay and bi people not only being able to relate to having a same sex crush, but also to other elements of the story. Once again, nothing at all to do with sexualizing children, because crushes and being gay are not inherently sexual.

You believe this needs to be said, yet you’re not saying anything remotely new or groundbreaking. I’ve heard it all before. I’ve heard many people saying that being gay is inherently sexual, that it’s an adult topic, that kids are too young to know (they can know they’re straight, though), etc etc. It’s nothing new! Homophobes have been saying this for years!

You’re the one sexualizing kids, because you’re the one who equates being gay with being sexual. That’s nobody’s fault but your own.
