YOUVE ACTIVATED MY TRAP CARD @aristide-bruant
Exactly!!!!!! They're HUGE community collaborative projects. Not to mention, sex scenes vary from pre written full length porn that changes out terms and dialoge as needed (trials in tainted space, corruption of champions) or turn by turn combat encounters! (Course of Temptation, Lilith's throne, Degrees of Lewdity, etc)
Within turn based encounters, lilith's throne is really interesting because it lets you choose the mood of each turn encounter (resisting, neutral, and enthusiastic) as you do them, allowing for a lot of roleplay based decisions around how your character feels doing things and how willing they are to do them as well as having a huuuuuge array of sex acts you can preform. On the other hand, though lacking in types of sex, Degrees of Lewdity takes it one step further by letting you juggle either submissive or defiant options on each body part each turn. This can get pretty annoying if you're not into it, but adds a really interesting level of complexity that breaks up a grindfest. You have high arousal- do you risk pissing the person off and having them take advantage while you cum? Or do you set them up somewhere safer, cum while they shove their dick into your mouth and then fucking bite it? (The conversation about how these games handle stats is for another time)
When it comes to dialoge, it's also interesting to see how npcs change it depending on your traits throughout the game. Something like course of Champions or Degrees of Lewdity simplify it by linking dialog and sex options to character and npc stats, while the sickos (admiring) behind Trials in Tainted space have multiple npcs with different hard written sex options depending on your traits (ie, dominance, submission, bimbo, has a pussy etc) that are unlocked if you match them which, I cannot stress this enough, is so much work and relies SO heavily on having genuinely well written erotica
Other topics I cant get into without making this 10 times as long- stats management and how it varies between sim stats and plain arousal, health and sometimes sanity, the ways each game expects you to grind and how they impact playstyle, the implementation and ability to opt out of different kinks based on mainstream desire and common taboo, the intricacies and complexities of character creation, the way each game handles it's art direction, especially when it comes to NPCs and Player models, the degrees of furry-ness or realism in each one, distinct worldbuilding (Lilith's throne gets a huge point for straight up being alternate history while TiTS has like- histories of lawsuits for each medication), representation of POC, body types and Queer identities and how it lets you change terms as needed in some cases to unlink them from porn, and how each game fetishizes the idea of being able to transform and change sex of the pc or, in the case of course of temptation, so far doesn't seem to have any mechanic for it at all. (Which if anything is a little facinating when a lot of these games appeal to a wide range of kinks to gain a bigger audience)
Also shout out to all the DoL players trying out CoT. If you're finding it too vanilla/less combat grindy and don't mind furries, Lilith's throne could be more likely to scratch that itch for you, in addition to having an insane depth to character customization and an interesting action point turn based combat, it does have some defined characters so it's not just a sea of RNG faces. No skill checks and skill grinding though, so pick your poison.
