A couple of my characters for an old roleplay I planned together with @sjazna, which focuses on a group of mutants (hence the various powers listed next to them) and the shenanigans they get up to.

And yes, Lucienne could break all of the others in half if she so wished. I love her so much.

I realised it's been years since I drew Isaia and decided to do something about that. Long time no see, my love!

Some of the things I drew during 2025! It was a slow year in many ways, where I felt I didn't have enough time or energy to draw (hence two months with nothing but light and shading studies). But one positive is that I did a lot more traditional media! I've really missed that.

So yeah. A disappointingly unproductive year, but I do like that I was still able to draw quite a few good pieces, plus practice on some basics! Which I suck at, due to being self-taught.

On to 2026!

It was so much fun to get to draw Bucky and Tony again! I've missed them 💜

I figured it was time for another speed painting!

And, I gotta say, this is definitely one of my favourites out of the ones I've drawn. I'm exploring how to combine references and improvising the gaps in between, until I get something closer to environmental design. It's a lot of fun!

I'm sick and don't really have the brainpower for anything useful, so I made this landscape study, following this YouTube tutorial (with some modifications).

Because, sometimes, it's nice to just draw what someone else tells you to draw.

It's been a very interesting journey lately to explore just what I can do in terms of realism and lighting. And it turns out I can do a lot more than I thought possible? Which was both disorienting and thrilling.

So now I'm trying to figure out how to use that in a good way in my art going forward. Which is a very slow process, I will admit, but it gives me something to aim for.

So yeah! Here's to hoping I get even better in the future 😉

Since I have a bad habit of smoothing out my brush strokes until everything is flawless and unnecessarily polished, I'm trying to get better at realistic drawings that still maintain a lot of texture and life. Which is a struggle, I admit, since it doesn't come naturally to me at all. But hey, this is a pretty successful attempt, all things considered!

And yes, I have A Thing for Logan in glasses. I swear my brain short-circuited whenever he wore them in the movie. Complete bluescreen.

(When I sent this to my wife over on Discord, she almost asked me why I was sending her a photo of Hugh Jackman (which she wasn't against by any means but thought was a little odd). And, like, babe, no — it's a drawing 😂)

Sometimes I stumble over my old drawings and find myself staring at them in total amazement because holy shit I did that? TWELVE YEARS AGO? What even?

Now I really miss coloured pencils.

So yeah. An A4-sized coloured pencil drawing I'm honestly not sure I could pull off today 🤣

I'm getting pretty good at the colours on these speed paintings by now. But I still need to work a bit on my brush strokes and textures, I think.

Another year, another art summary! There was surprisingly little fan art this year, but I managed to finish several old WIPs — one of them 13 years old. And if that's not commitment (and bordering on unhinged stubbornness) I don't know what is.

I hope to be able to do more studies and sketches next year, because I feel like I still have a lot to learn, especially when it comes to lighting and not making everything I draw so stilted. So let's hope I'll be able to do that.

I just wanted to see what my Mitia would look like with starlight freckles because he's a light demon and all that. And, naturally, they only show up in the dark so I got a chance to practice on some really interesting lighting, which is always a plus!

The freckles are definitely staying. I love them so much.
