hi everyone! I'm katie, your friendly lesbian archivist-to-be, and I could use a little help right now!

I've spent the past three months off of work due to an accident that left me with a broken ankle. I should be cleared to start working again in a week or two, but I'll be easing my way back into my usual schedule so I don't overexert myself at first. essentially, I'm just about out of the funds I've been surviving off of for three months, and my paychecks upon my return to work are going to be half of what I'm used to since I'll only be working two days a week to start with instead of my usual four days.

I'm currently working on a master's degree in library and information science with a concentration in archival administration. my classes are remote, but I was accepted into a very cool archival summer program at my university where I would be going to campus several times over the course of july to digitize important local cultural records on obsolete audio formats. however, this means I have to take ubers to and from campus during the month of july. this is going to be very difficult for me since I've been out of work for several months now and am down to the end of my money.

I asked my academic advisor if there were any travel funds available to students in this summer program to help offset the cost for me, but she said no funds were left.

this summer program will pay me well, but unfortunately I will not be paid until at least a month after I complete my work due to bureaucratic university nonsense.

I'll need to take a total of 16 uber rides back and forth between my house and campus over the course of july, and each uber ride costs approximately $35 for the distance I'll be traveling. therefore, I'm looking at about $560 total in transportation costs for the month of july.

tl;dr - I've been off of work for three months due to a broken ankle, and I'm financially floundering. I was accepted into a paid summer program where I'd get hands-on experience in my field, but I can't afford the cost of ubers to and from campus, and I don't get paid until the program is complete. help!!

I'm slowly getting back on my feet after my accident (literally and figuratively), but I could use a little help getting there! if you could spare a few bucks or share this post, I'd be eternally grateful!
