I do not know if there is a God, and if it exists, I do not know what it would be like. I believe it is something much more complex and different than we can imagine or understand today. This universe is so huge … I do not believe in coincidence, but still, we live just a blink here on Earth compared to the age of the universe to discover everything, I believe there is a lot to discover, maybe all this is just a passage…

In case y'all didn’t know this is literally exactly what the bible says Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. Romans 8:26

the language of prayer is “thee, thou, thine”, like that

BUT

Even though that is important and shows proper respect.  Sometimes you really just have to get on your knees, look up at the ceiling and say “...what was that?”

God is your FATHER in heaven!  When you pray DON’T imagine God on a throne, picture Him at the kitchen table with a plate of cookies and two glasses of milk.  TELL him EVERYTHING about the day.  Tell Him what made you angry, tell Him who made you upset, tell Him what made you laugh, heck, TELL HIM WHAT YOU HAD FOR LUNCH!  He wants to hear from you NO MATTER WHAT!  You are his CHILD!  TALK to Him!  Not just when you need help, but when something GOOD happens too!

a personal relationship with God is not impossible.  When you pray, imagine you are sitting at the kitchen table with a glass of milk and a plate of cookies in between you and God.  

He’s just asked you how your day was.

He know’s how your day was, He knows how you feel about it and every struggle you have had that day from opening you eyes in the morning to that very moment.

But He asked you.  Because he wants to hear from you.  Talk to Him and listen.  You may not hear an actual voice, but your heart will feel lighter….or warmer…or more peaceful.

This picture speaks so much to me.  Its one of my absolute favorites and calms me down during panic attacks.

IT IS CONFERENCE WEEKEND!!

So, just a little info fer ya’ll:

two times a year, around April and October, we have what we call General Conference where we listen to talks given by our prophet and leaders of the church.  They are uplifting and even if you arn’t a member of the Church, they are good messages that will really give you a good feeling.

But conference weekend also means that there will be tons of conference memes~<3  this particular General Conference is REALLY  good.  I ENCOURAGE you to look up “October 2018 general conference” and watch it.  You can find it on Youtube and on LDS.org.  there are so many messages for those that are feeling down, sad, depressed, anxious, or just “bleh” in general.  

Elder Holland in particular has given a talk that has addressed the feeling of anger and he encourages us to deal with that in a healthy way.
