โAsa,โ came the faint whisper tugging at his heart. โAsa.โ
The young man sat on a cushion, holding a scroll.
An empty cup of tea lay beside him.
On his right was a lampโcandles lit the inside of the temple enough for him to see in the watches of the night.ย
Asa snuck out of his chambers to study the law.
It was his nightly ritual.
Whenever he got the chance, heโd meditate on God's word. It completely captivated himโhe was taken by the nature of God.ย
โLord?โ
He was met with silence.ย
Then peace engulfed him like a glove.ย
Asa felt warm.ย
He knew it was none other than the presence of the Lord invading his chestโfilling the once void space.ย
He found it amazing.ย
God was who he wanted to please.ย
โYou are so greatโyouโve done marvelous things Lord God. I will surely follow you as my forefather David did. It is my desire.โ His voice was soft and sincere. โI want to be a good king or no king at all.โ
Asa thought of his father, Abijah, and all the evil things he did now. โAbba was devoted to youโhe even taught me about you as a boy then... he forsook you. I don't want to do the same Lord God.โ
It filled him with indignation.ย
His grandmother, Maacah known as โqueen mother,โ was just as wicked.
When Asa was a young boy, he sensed the evil they were doing, but he didnโt have a full understanding of it yet.
The idols made his skin crawlโtheir dead eyes, and golden bodies stared back at him. There was something unnatural about them, unnerving. The sacred stones, the altars and polesโthe man and woman he saw at the shrine once or twiceโwith strange garments or lack thereof.
Asa refused to worship their gods.ย
He wanted nothing to do with the gods of his father and grandmother.
โAsa,โ Maacahโs voice was hard. She glared at him in disbelief; her left eye twitched, and her lips turned into a snarl. โWhat is the matter, child? It is not your first time at the altar. Show respect to your gods! As the future king, you need them on your side.โ
The twelve-year-old eyed the golden calf sceptically, then the ox.
He shook his head in protest. โNo. I'll serve the true God. The one I heard about from Hanani the prophet.โย
Hanani was a man of God.
He was the one who later taught Asa the commands and decrees of the Lord, a spiritual father to the boy.ย
Maacah gasped. โYouโyou are a child you know nothing. These are the real godsโyou father, the king is following them, so should you.โย
Her gaze darkened with something Asa could not place.
He feared she might strike him.
He had seen her do so to others.
โDo not listen to that prophet; donโt go near him, understood? See how obedient your brothers are,โ Maacah cradled his cheek, gripping tight.ย
Asa kept quiet.
His stomach swirled but he refused to move.
After that he sought God earnestly at first I secret then he grew bold, and zealous for the Lord.ย
He did not stay away from the seer, or the Levites or anyone who had knowledge of God.ย
Asa was steadfast in his pursuit of the true God; he wanted to follow Him.ย
Now at seventeen he was even more on fire for God.ย
He was taller than most of his brothers.
His thick black curls remained untamed despite his maidservants' attempts to smooth them. Asaโs brown skin grew darker under the Jerusalem sun from the frequent warm days.ย
โI cannot believe how blind my people are. Stubborn,โ the young man huffed out as he tried to read from the scroll. โI want to guide them. Lord God with you by my side, I know I can.โ
Asa blinked, sharp brown eyes burning from fatigue. โThere is no other God besides you. O Lord my God, I trust and rely on you. My God I am powerless without you. Help me to be the king you desire. Amen.โย
A yawn escaped his lips, and his head lulled back. โLord God, I might just take restโโ
โYour Highness! My prince,โ his servant's uneasy voice rang through the temple. He scrambled toward him in the dim light. โYour brother has taken notice of your absence. Shall we take leave?โ
What can man do to me? he thought with a scoff.
He was not afriad, no man could prevail against God, and those who trust in him.
โNo.โ Asa brushed it aside with a flick of his hand. โIt is only Nabal. Leave him be. I am not the one sinning.โ
โIf I should sleep in the temple of my God, no one can stop me. When I am older, I will demolish every idol, altar, and that repulsive Asherah pole.โ
He fixed his gaze on his servantโfirm, and absolute. โI will utterly destroy them.โ
โDo what seems right to you, my king,โ the slave immediately bowed down at his tone.
The fierce look in his masterโs usual soft eyes startled himโa burning flame resided within.ย
It was only the beginning.ย

Written last year December.
Inspired when I was reading the book of Kings:
โจ 1 Kings 15:12-15 โจ
He banished the male and female shrine prostitutes from the land and got rid of all the idols his ancestors had made.
He even deposed his grandmother Maacah from her position as queen mother because she had made an obscene Asherah pole. He cut down her obscene pole and burned it in the Kidron Valley.
Although the pagan shrines were not removed, Asaโs heart remained completely faithful to the Lord throughout his life.
He brought into the Temple of the Lord the silver and gold and the various items that he and his father had dedicated.
Felt like posting this on on here. Really need to get back into writing biblical fics. It's such an enlightening experience! ๐๐ปโโ๏ธ
๐ท๐๐๐๐๐๐: Kyojuro Rengoku x Reader (You)!
๐ป๐๐๐: fluff, faith, slice of life, light humour, marriage, parenting, breastfeeding, mini uncle Senjuro! Rengoku is obsessed with your baby!
Blurb: Your husband, Rengoku is a tease. Your son is the cutest thing you've ever seen. It's a playful evening in your household, filled with love, laughter, gratitude and milk.
๐งก แกฃ โข . โข ๐ญฉ ๐ผ
โYou love Papa, don't you Kei?โ Kyojuro asked, giving your son an affectionate squeeze in his arms. โMore than mommy.โ
The man teasingly stuck his tongue out at you and mouthed, โMine.โ
Lord, why did I marry this silly man?
Kyojuro smirked as though he won a prize when Keijiro chose him over you, his mother, in a โcome hereโ challenge to see who the baby would choose.
โTraitor!โ you said playfully, grabbing a pillow next to you. You hugged it to your chest instead of throwing it like you wanted to. โYou're sleeping on the couch tonight. Give me my baby back.โ
You scoffed in amusement as Keijiro, your one-year-old son, slobbered all over his father's shoulder while he babbled.
โYouโre Papa's boy, aren't you Kei?โ Kyojuro hummed, holding the baby's back carefully while he patted his bum in a soothing rhythm. โSay Papa.โ
Keijiro made gurgles, and giggled as if he understood. โMa,โ he started, โMama.โ
You laughed at the betrayed look on your husband's face and cooed at your son's flushed chubby cheeks and pouty lips. Your baby was in a duck themed onesie; entirely white with yellow flippers on his feet and a beak on its cap.
It was adorable.
You just had to buy it when you saw it.
You cherished thisโthem together.
Your husband and son.
The sight warmed your heart, and you thanked God for this blessing.
Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. James 1:17, came to mind and you thought it was perfect.
Life. Love, and family.
Kyojuro Rengoku didn't have the most supportive father. After his mother, Rukaโs death his dad practically became an alcoholic. He wasn't a proper father to Kyojuro or his younger brother Senjuro after that, not really.
When Kyojuro became a teacher at Kimetsu High he took his little brother in. The fifteen-year-old boy moved in two years after your marriage with Kyojuro. It was an adjustment for you all but it went well and it was worth it.
The boy fit right into your little family.
Senjuro was a sweetheart.
You adored him.
He was a mixture of a big brother and an uncle to your son; you loved their bond.
A memory of a few weeks ago surfaced.
โKei, look here,โ the teenager called his nephewโs attention then hid his face behind his hands. โPeekaboo.โ
Keijiro cried.
Senjuro panicked but was able to cheer the little one up.
โHey, hey, donโt cry. I'm right here, Kei. Sorry bubs,โ he picked the baby up and shushed him gently. โIt's okay.โ
โAww, he was so scared his baba disappeared,โ you whispered, holding the tears at bay at how endearing they were together.
Keijiro inherited everything in the looks department from his father. The two were identical. Matching thick, blonde hair with red streaks. Pale skin and bright golden eyes with hints of red that sparkled like flames.
And the loudness.
The tiny human loved to make noise, Keijiro was a hyper baby who loved to be talked to but grew grumpy when it was his time to nap.
โMy baby's the cutest.โ
You felt a rush of โcuteness aggressionโ overtake you and wanted nothing more than to bite the almost dosing baby's cheeks and smother him with affection.
โAnd my husband is so handsome,โ you added and waved the man over. โCome here, I'm getting lonely.โ
Kyojuro wore fatherhood so well, seeing him nurture your son made your stomach flip pleasantly.
โOh dear,โ the man mused, and quickly moved to the space you patted next to you on the bed. โWe can't have that,โ he leaned down for a kiss but Keijiro pulled his father's hair and whined.
โExcuse me, mister,โ you sassed the baby and ticked his tummy, getting a squeal out of him. โI had him first. He was my husband before he was your daddy, y'know.โ
You took Keijiro from his father's arms and the boy went without a fuss.
He pawed at your shirt, then tugged harder and you immediately knew what he wanted.
โOh, is my baby hungry?โ
You were glad to be able to breastfeed your son. Not a lot of mothers did it these daysโand some couldn't. It was something you treasured. Nursing made you feel closer to your son, and it was known to be good for babies.
Kyojuro propped the pillows around you to make you more comfortable.
He remained a steady presence next to you.
His gaze was soft, and showed how much he cared about you and his son.
โOkay,โ you said, lifting your shirt, allowing the little one to latch on in the privacy of your room. โThere you go angel.โ
Keijiroโs small, chubby hand found its way to your cheek as he suckled in slow pulls. His eyelids fluttered sleepily while making a noise of contentment as he drank. You maintained eye contact with the little one, and took in every detail of his face, memorising it.
He was so tiny in your arms.
Keijiro stared at you as as if you held the stars through droopy eyes.
โMa,โ he spluttered out a slobbery. โDa.โ
โMy precious,โ You couldn't help but smile. โThank you Lord for this. For my family. I pray that my baby grows up strong, and healthy. I pray that you give me the gentleness, wisdom, and kindness to be a mother to him. Teach me, O God. To do the right thing.โ
You felt Kyojuro lean into your side, and kiss your shoulder, muttering a prayer of his own over the two of you, and his brother. โAmen.โ
โI love you,โ he said, and pressed a peck to your forehead. โYou're a wonderful mother. I'm thankful to God for you, beloved.โ
You felt Keijiro's lips detach from your nipple, and cool air hit your chest.
โHe's asleep.โ
You tucked yourself away, and shifted the baby in a more comfortable position.
โYou are so beautiful when you nurse, dear one.โ
You knew Kyojuro meant it.
Even if your hair was messy, and your shirt was stained with the pumpkin Keijiro smeared on you from dinner.
โStop.โ
โMy wife is the most beautiful,โ he cupped your cheek and drew you in for a kiss.
โI'm gonna shower soon,โ you announced with a yawn, nuzzling into his warm palm. โI need to get out of these clothes, and into something more comfortable.โ
โCan I join?โ Kyojuro asked, eyes lighting up with excitement. โI can wash your back. And your hair. We could take a bath together. It'll be more efficient for relaxation,โ he perked up, and slid off the bed. โI can get it ready. You just sit tightโโ
Kyojuro liked taking care of you.
โWait, who's gonna watch Kei?โ
It wasn't too dangerous to let the boy sleep alone for a little while, you knew that. You had portable baby monitors and Keijiroโs crib had barsโit was built to keep him safe but you still worried.
What if Kei wakes up and I'm not here?
At the sound of shuffling downstairs you remembered your brother-in-law was in the house too.
โI could ask Senjuro to check on our boy if you're too uncertain, darling,โ he brushed his thumb over your lip, and grinned. โHe loves Kei. I'm sure he won't mind, and we won't be too far either. I'd never let anything happen to our son!โ
โI know,โ you said, comforted by the words, and kissed him. โOkay.โ

I've got 2 chapters drafted and a bunch of planning that needs to be written outโbut oh gosh it's so wholesome. It's inspired by the manga and now anime adaptation, "Smoking behind the supermarket with you." Wholesome slow burn age gap romanceโshowcasing work life and the pressure that comes with it, and finding an exhaleโor breather in unexpected places.
I would be curious to hear what other Christian content creators--namely fan fiction writers--experience when they post fan content on platforms like Ao3, etc.
I assume people who are not interested in faith based creative works don't interact much, but I wonder how common it is to experience unnecessary negativity or criticisms as a result.
My approach is a bit unconventional in the way of faith based works because I am a very firm believer in realism. I don't think that it's productive to always consume media that lacks significant conflict or parallels to the world we live in, because ultimately life is messy and the world has fallen from grace. True growth comes from understanding that the world is flawed, we are flawed, and our sins have very dire consequences on ourselves and one another. People learn a lot about themselves and others by experiencing perspectives that they otherwise may have never considered. I prefer to balance reality and serious topics without glorifying things that shouldn't be.
On the other side of that, I use this space to glorify change, transformation, repentance, and redemption. While not every character can be saved (as a parallel to not every person wants to be saved or do good), it's important to show the contrast between the power of salvation versus hearts that have hardened eternally.
Because of this, I'm not entirely sure how my work will be received since I fall into a gray area. My work feels too dark at times to be considered true Christian content, but they're "too preachy" for standard Ao3 audiences by definition of fandom culture. At the end of the day, neither of these things will stop me from writing, but I do wonder if anyone else has experienced something similar or how their experiences have been so far.
Hey! โจ So for me Ao3 is pretty chill. I've never received hate/negative comments from there and my stuff is usually very obviously Christian coded or religious in other's eyes probs.
On Tumblr though I've had 2 people tell me to put a warning in my tags for religious cause it's a problem for themโthey don't like christianity and might not have had a good experience with it and to that I say sorry but scroll.
Like you implied, we can choose what we want to read or interact with. If I don't want to read something then I don't. If I see something I think is gross, disturbing or makes me uncomfortable for whatever reason - I skip, ignore, move on with my life because my I don't like that.
That's where preference comes in ๐คง.
Maybe some people won't read Christian fanfics or maybe Christians may not be into what you're writing and that's okay! There will be an audience for you! I guarantee your fic/story will attract who it needs to. That used to be one of my biggest concerns thinking no one will read my stuff or would find what I write too preachy. I was proven wrong.
Psalm 23:1. We lack nothing. My audience my not be huge, but I've got christians and non-christians reading my stuff. Basically anyone who doesn't mind reading what I dish out. God will provide readers who get your writing if I might not or the next person doesn't.
I don't think there's anything wrong with your approach. That's a fresh take. It's real and raw. It's just the reality of how things are in this worldโbad. There's good too but lots of stuff happen in the flesh but we still have hope. Still, like Job who felt suicidal thinks can get worse before they get better. Think of the Bible so much went onโliterally so much happens!
One thing I don't like or can't get into is if something bad is described too vividlyโby bad I mean maybe someone's getting murdered or raped or idk like I don't want to read something that'll put that image in my mind. I'd prefer to read about bad things on a surface level more telling, less showing but still holding true to the psychological and emotional trauma side of things. That I can handle. But I can also choose to skip those scenes and proceed the chapter.
Not everyone in our lives get saved, not all of them live long healthy lives. We've all gone through hardships and it's okay to show that to the readers while showcasing that in those moments there was someone who met us when we were messed up. Jesus. But maybe someone else didn't experience it that way.
That makes me think of Pharoah. Not everyone will be saved or want to be saved. He didn't accept God. Didn't want to. He rejected God (and he suffered for it) like we have a choice.
That's the beauty of faith's not forced. It's shouldn't be portrayed that way. We're not pushing our beliefs on the readers or characters (unless the characters are Christian) were just showing them our side of things how we believe and live. Not saying you do itโbut this is how we do it. You don't have to but it's open.
I say post DAT fic! Don't be scared, post it and don't check on for a while hehe. Don't stop writing. I get what you mean! Been there, learned to care less and focus on what God's inspired me to write. Someone out there might need the message you have to give. In the way you write it! ๐ซ.
๐ท๐๐๐๐๐๐: Aizawa Shouta & you wish you were Eri (cause so do I). Hitsohi Shinso & Izuku Midoriya.
๐ป๐๐๐: Fluff. Cuddles. Slice of life. Siblings. Wholesome! Single Dad Aizawa!
๐ฉ๐๐๐๐: Pro hero, Shouta Aizawa goes from dad to hairdresser, then audiobook to personal pillow in the span of the night. Eri refuses to sleep while Hitoshi and Izuku on the other hand, fight over their sister's affection.
Or, Just another night in the chaotic Aizawa household.
โ โน เณ
Eri's bedroom door was cracked open halfway. It was easier to trot over to Aizawa's room if she woke up in the middle of the night that way. The preschooler liked being able to see the faint light from the bathroom spill from the hallway into her room; it eased her.
โDaddy,โ Eri mumbled.
The six-year-old's head lulled backwards as Aizawa brushed her hair in slow, gentle strokes. Her ruby-red eyes fluttered at his careful touch, and her smile softened like syrup.
โThis feels so nice, yay me! You should be a hairdresser, daddy. No, no! Only my hairdresser.โ
โOh yeah?โ the pro hero hummed, amused at the girl's possessiveness. โWhat about Toshi and Izuku?โ
Aizawa set the brush down on the dresser with a clink and opted to use his fingers as a comb. Eri liked it when her dad played with her hair.
โThey don't even have real hair!โ
โThat's mean,โ Aizawa joked, feeling his lips curl into a tired smile. โI'll tell them you said that.โ
โNo, don't!โ Eri sounded almost panicked at the threat. โOr they won't let me do their hair anymore!โ
Eri loved playing hair salon; decorating her brother's hair with colourful hair clips, tiaras and other accessories that MidnightโNemuri bought her. Izuku was usually the easier target whenever the girl needed a living doll.
โFine, fine. I'll share you with them,โ she said, pausing to yawn. โ'Cause I'm a good sister.โ
Eri is clingier tonight, Aizawa noted. It wasn't uncommon or unwanted, she was his kid after all, and children often craved attention and closeness from their parents or loved ones.
โAre you sleepy yet, angel?โ Aizawa asked knowingly.
Eri's body was fully relaxed as she sagged against his chest. Aizawa's calloused fingertips massaged the six-year-old's scalp and threaded through her knotless pale-blue hair with care. The cotton candy scented shampoo was still fresh from the recent wash.
โDon't force yourself to stay awake,โ he assured, planting a kiss on her head. โDaddy will be here when you fall asleep, sweetheart.โ
The way Eri rubbed her eyes, her slow blinks, and the yawns she didn't even try to hide gave an obvious indication of her fatigue.
It may have been a Saturday, but it was past eight.
She's usually dozing off by now, Aizawa assessed with narrowed eyes. I know she's tired.
โNo,โ Eri said, sounding whiny. She blinked up at the pro hero with adoring red eyes. โI wanna stay awake.โ
โHm, and why is that?โ Aizawa asked, even though he had a hunch.
The man usually just tucked Eri into bed on weekdays.
Aizawa didn't always have time to read her a bedtime story or brush her hair like tonight. He'd give her a goodnight kiss and linger a few moments beforethe girl passed out. His schedule as a pro hero and a teacher didn't always allow it.
Some days Eraserhead would be too tiredโbarely hanging on, but he still came home in one piece. And on those nights it was harder to give himself when there was hardly anything left to give. But for themโhis children, Aizawa would, if they needed him.
Shouta Aizawa knew adopting three kids wouldn't be easy, but they were worth it.
โ'Cause... I'll miss you when I go to sleep,โ Eri said, turning around to hide her face in his chest. Aizawa's heart warmed at the words. She reminded him of their cat, with the way she curled into him. โAnd I wanna stay with you longer. I just, love you.โ Eri peeked up at him with big eyes and pouted. โBecause you're my daddy.โ
โShe's a daddy's girl, Eraser. That much is clear!โ Aizawa remembers Present Mic telling him that once. Yamada would've gushed at the sight if he were here with a: โShe's so adorable, Sho!โ or, โAww, I want a cuddle from the little listener too!โ
Eri started sniffing.
Aizawa feared she might start crying from being overtired.
โI see. Well in that case, daddy will cuddle you until you fall asleep,โ Shouta hushed, wrapping his arms around her small frame. โI won't leave your side, I promise.โ
She made a thinking face.
It was cute.
โOkay, but,โ Eri clutched his dark shirt and sniffed, โyou have to read me a bedtime story. Daddy, I like your voice a lot โt sounds really nice...โ
โThank you, baby.โ He kissed her forehead and squeezed her in his arms. โWhat do you want me to read?โ
โSnuggle Time Love!โ she said excitingly, pointing at her little bookshelf without letting go of him. โPlease and thank you!โ
Snuggle Time Love was a illustrated children's book Ochaco handed down to Eri.
It was a reminder of love with cuddly animals which his daughter adores.
Aizawa was by no means a religious man but the author of that book was. It didn't stop him from reading it to her. The words in the story aligned with Shoutaโs values and what he wanted to teach his kids.
โSuch good manners,โ the man praised, getting off the bed to retrieve the book while still holding her in his arms. Eri's weight and warmth were comforting as she clung to him like a koala. โI'm so proud of you Eri.โ
โThank you, daddy. 'Am so proud of you too,โ she said cheekily, the gap between her teeth on display as she grinned. โI learn from the best.โ
โAh.โ Shouta grunted, feeling affection swell in his chest. โI have such a nice kid. Maybe I'm not doing such a bad job after all,โ he let the last part slip under his breath, but Eri caught it in the stillness that wrapped around them in her room.
โYou're wrong daddy!โ the six-year-old protested, glaring at him with the virtuosity of a kitten. โYou never did a bad job! You didโyou did a good job. The best. Don't talk about my daddy like that,โ she said pointedly.
โYes maโam. I hear you loud and clear.โ Shouta cracked a small smile, and gave her a comforting squeeze before opening the book. โOkay, I'll start... Do you know what love is?โ
โIt means,โ she interrupted, continuing the next lines by heart, โI will waitโeven if I'm early and you are super late.โ
Love is patient in other words, and that was just the beginning.
Aizawa treasured the time he spent with kidsโhe wouldn't trade it for the world. He was grateful to for them, even if they were his reason for coffee and migrainesโsometimes. Hitoshi and Izuku weren't little kids anymore, so they weren't nearly as openly affectionate as Eri but they still had a strong bond with their dad.
Izuku wasn't shy about his admiration for Eraserhead, nor was Hitoshi in a quieter way. The purple-haired boy was Aizawa's personal protege, the way Izuku was All Might's but that don't change their dynamic.
Aizawa love them both equally, how could he not?
The boys may have grown taller but they still waddled after him like little ducklingsโthat would change soon. Aizawa knew they'd be great heroes, they already were. That didn't stop the man from checking in on them at midnight or if he woke up to make sure his kids were still there, safe.
Izuku and Hitoshi may be seventeen now, but they'll always be his babies.
They make you soft, Aizawa scoffed when someone else's words came to mind. Not that I have a problem with that.
โYouโre secretly a big softie aren't you, Eraser. I can tell,โ Ms. Jokeโs teasing tone popped up in his mind; a memory.
She crossed her arms and leaned forward.
โTall, dark, handsome and sleep deprivedโa whole package, not to mention,โ she paused and eyed the binding cloth around his neck. โI bet you're good with ropes.โ
Aizawa's expression remained deadpanned.
It's not the worst pick-up lines she used or the weirdest thing he heard directed at him, unfortunately.
โYou can tie me up any time!โ The teacher winked, then chuckled at her own words a beat later. Sobering up, Ms. Joke proposed to him, again. โMatter of fact let's get hitched!โ
He let out an amused scoff.
That woman, Aizawa, never laughed at her jokes but she could be funnyโsometimesโbut he would never admit it. She's crazy.
Eri was tucked into his side like a baby chick under her mother's wing as Aizawa read in a monotone voice. His arm that wasn't holding the book was wrapped around her small frame, petting her head soothingly.
She won't last five minutes, Aizawa noted as Eriโs small hands came up to caress his face mindlessly. Why are my kids so stubborn? He blinked, unfazed and equally fond. Do they take after me? I hope not.
โEri,โ Aizawa began, โIf I lose another eye. I'll be fully blind,โ the pro hero reminded as his daughter groped his face. Eri traced her finger on the scar under his eye. He moved her hand away when she almost poked his good eyeball out. โI think we're done now, angel. Close your eyes.โ
โNo,โ Eri half-whined, dragging out the โoโ when she could no longer fight off the fatigue.
โYes,โ Aizawa said, mimicking her while he propped the storybook on the bedside table.
He switched off the main light source and turned on the tiny All Might nightlight Eri got from Izuku.
The girl's eyes instantly fell shut against her will.
โI'm not going anywhere,โ Aizawa promised, getting back on the bed. He pulled her Eri close to his heart, and rubbed her back in circles. โI'm right here, baby.โ
โLove you daddy,โ she grumbled, succumbing to exhaustion. The preschooler hummed, nuzzling her face into his neck. โGooโnight.โ
โLove you too, sweetheart,โ Aizawa kissed her forehead, and grabbed the purple kitten plushieโa gift from Hitoshiโand slotted it between Eri's arms. โGoodnight. Sleep tight.โ
He cuddled his daughter while she cuddled the kitty.
It was perfect.
Later that night โ โน เณ
Izuku and Hitoshi simultaneously found themselves in front of their baby sister's room.
Izuku had fed their two cats, Sushi and Wasabi moments before he came upstairs.
โ'Toshi.โ
The brothers had a nightly ritual of wishing Eri good night but not always at the same time.
โI'll know if you didn't give me bedtime kisses,โ Eri once claimed with an accusing glare. โI've got super, spidey senses you see!โ she added, wiggling her tiny fingers. โIโll be really upset ifโif you didn't say gooโnight.โ
โGreen bean.โ
Hitoshi's friends, Kaminari and Bakugou from class finally left after a while day of hanging out and playing video games.
Emerald green met purple hue in a challenging stare. Neither teen said anything but their thoughts were clear, โI'm gonna be first.โ
As if being the best brother was a competitionโit wasn't, not really but it was a playful thing Izuku and Hitoshi did sometimes.
They somehow ended up in a tussle in front of Eri's doorโarguing about who was actually there first, and who should go in first.
It was stupid.
They were stupid.
โLet me go,โ Izuku hissed out when Hitoshi grabbed the back of his grey sweatshirt and tugged him back. โOr I won't hold back.โ
โThen don't,โ the taller boy teased.
In swift motion, Izuku swiped his leg under Hitoshi's feet so quick he stumbled. He caught himself seconds before he could fall.
They started at each with matching grins in the dim bedroom biting back the urge to laugh.
It was fun, almost like sparing.
โBoys.โ
They froze in place, startled at the sudden grumble.
When did he get up? Hitoshi thought, blinking at the figure behind them. Damn, were we too loud? Probably.
Their father was standing right behind them like a grim reaper in the shadows.
I didn't even hear him move, Izuku was impressed and equally scared. Dad's so cool! He's always been a light sleeper, wait now I feel bad. I really want him to teach me how to be more stealth! I should ask him.
โDad,โ Hitoshi said softly, looking apologetic. โWe came to say goodnight to Eri.โ
โSorry,โ Izuku whispered, rubbing the back of his neck. โThings got out of hand.โ
โEri's not gonna wake up anytime soon,โ Aizawa said, titling his head at the sleeping girl who was tucked in under thick, pastel pink blankets while she snored.
โJust keep fighting outside, please, you know the rules,โ We don't need another hole in the wall, was left unsaid.
Aizawa put a hand on each of their fluffy heads and ruffled it affectionately. โGood night boys.โ

A/N: For the girlies who don't have present father's, to us ๐ฅ God is my Father tho, and I'm so grateful for that! He's the real deal, more present than anyone in the flesh has been to me.
You don't know how many draft's there are of this! I can't believe it took so long to write/edit but I just had to get it right! I think it came out okay.
What'd ya think? ๐ Ms. joke- ๐คฃ
โข When Aizawa refers to himself as daddy. >//< Makes me feel giddy. (The accurate, dictionary meaning.)
โข When he's trying his best to be a good father! T-T Yes, we need that.
โข When he shows affection to his kids and assures them of his love for them! โ
Extra: I googled a story and found Snuggle Time Love. It seems like a cute story. It's based on 1 Corinthians 13 (qualities of love, basically). I'm aware there are non-christian books that teach kids good manners and values and stuff like being kind, and all that (aligns with Christian values) yay to that!
I'm currently working on a Dadzawa fic ft Aizawa as Eri, Hitoshi, and Izuku's adoptive father. It's nearly done, just needs editing. Main paring Aizawa and Eri * major fluff alert! Father-daughter vibes and doting big brothers! ๐
I'm planning on writing a Present Mic (Yamada Hizashi) x Reader fic and need your advice/preference. Comment down below, if it's not on the poll! Feel free to drop your headcanons or scenarios with our sunshine man!
Please and tank u ;)
Which would you prefer?
Romantic (Mic x Reader!)
Platonic (Mic x Reader!)
Strangers to Lovers (Romantic) (Medium burn) (Unexpected Love)
Strangers to friends (Platonic) (Found Family) (Friendship)
a) Keep a straight face when reading a fic so no one thinks you're crazy โ
b) Smile like a total lunatic who has a secret lover and is planning something sinister โ
For the life of me I can't control my face.
I suck at looking stoic when reading a good fic that makes me feel fuzzy, or amused ๐ญ I'm fine with itโexcept when someone catches me, and asks, "Why are you smiling like that?" / "Who got you smiling like that?" ๐ Or "Who are you talking to?" ๐
Me: No one.
Also me:
At home:
Bit of an exaggeration but if you get it you get it.
Are you enjoying Twisted Wonderland? I seriously need to get around to seeing it.
Say would you ever write a pic of Present Mic x Reader? I think he gets neglected sometimes in the x reader section of things but maybe that's me missing it.
I enjoyed it when it lasted :) Defo a nice watch, too short if you ask me.
Would I ever? Yes. You just put it in my brain, and now it's gonna spin scenarios about future fics. Btw I thought he was called President Mic this whole time! Nooo my life is a lie. ๐ญ
Present Mic is such a uncle-dad-teacher guy or Aizawa's best friend in my view. I never saw him as a romantic partner. I've only read about him in a familial, paternal or teacher vibe. He's definitely not as popular in the x-reader scope as most of the other characters as far as I'm aware (this author's not aware of many things).
But now, thinking more, I can almost picture him in a different light.

Maybe you're taking a late night drive from work. The breeze is nice and cool. The city lights spill over the lake as your passing by.
The radio is on low.
You worked overtime.
You're exhausted.
Then this booming voice pops up.
Energetic. Excited. Loud.
The radio host is kind of charming. Instead of agitating you, you turn the volume up. Present Mic's personality is refreshingโhe's silly, fun and his chatter kind of makes you feel better. Instead of the usual quiet you'd opt for he reels you in with his words, and the song he plays has you singing at the top of your lungs exhaustion long forgotten.
Thing is you don't know his true identity, just his host nameโPresent Mic. You become a fan of his channel. It became a comfort to hear his cheerful voiceโit lifted you up. You happen to meet him in a store, not knowing his face but you recognised his voice. With shoulder length, blond hair down, and glasses upโ!
Radio Host / Pro hero Yamada Hizashi x Reader!
This is just a random idea I had. I'd obviously do more research to get his character down and the correct terms for accuracy. I'd add subtle faith based themes of course. Maybe I'll expand on this idea, later.
If you have a scenario in mind or a prompt you want with present mic drop it in the asks anon and I'll see what I can do!
This was just me feeling it out! But yes I'd do one if you'd like! ๐
hi ! first off, i love your responses and how kind and bold they are. iโm VERY new to Christianity myself (first, an atheist to an agnostic), so itโs really comforting for me when someone isnโt afraid to mention that to others. i get this feeling of being different whenever i do, the same way a neurodivergent would describe when theyโre around neurotypicals, as they usually say. itโs something iโm wrapping my head around on, that itโs not weird or wrong to express you have a faith, that you follow Jesus, you know?
thatโs not the reason why iโm writing though haha. please donโt be afraid to delete this ask if youโre not comfortable responding! i just mainly want to get someoneโs stance on my situation, someone thatโs devoted to reading and learning the lessons and wisdom taught by Him. i know this is also your writing blog hehe, so please, donโt feel pressured to answer.
i started going to college, but lately, iโve just been struggling hard. originally, i was going to take a gap year, but i was offered a full-ride scholarship. at first, i was glad. โmy academic effort is being recognized.โ but i canโt help but feel that even though i said yes to that and did ALL of my applications, i feel as if i was FORCED into this. i had plans for my gap year like learning to drive, so that i wonโt have trouble shopping or going to college once i was ready; i would improve on my resume, get a part-time job if need be to help with my parents and to fund for my education. i would make a habit to read and study the Bible and committing to the chores i set for myself, all that, however, was thrown away when i took the scholarship. over time, i feel like i donโt really have control over my life anymore because of that.
despite good grades, i was not mentally stable during high school, and it was one of the reasons i got interested in learning more about Jesus. i feel comforted in the fact that no, youโre not here to born to die. no, if a God does exist, then He wouldnโt want You to worry about your life, and He believes that there is more to my life. these things mean A LOT to me, as someone who struggled with anxiety, depressing thoughts about my place in life, self-doubt, a lack of purpose, connecting with people, and burn-out, so why not delve into this more?
even if iโm a new Christian now, i have a hard time with my self-destructive habits, ones that i am FULLY aware of. a prayer and taking action can go a long way, but i have trouble doing the second one. i shouldnโt procrastinate because the time iโm given now is the right time to accomplish the necessary tasks of the day. i shouldnโt, and yet i do it, to the point Iโm in a state of learned helplessness.
i love learning, but the work feels draining. i have a calendar and a schedule where i put all my plans for the week and for my day, and guess what? despite the fact that i do that, even when i schedule in a time where i can have fun, i rarely commit to it; i only remember one day when i did.
i canโt keep living like this forever. itโs been affecting my relationships with my family. my mother is concerned for me. i cannot articulate to her what iโm going through in just a sentence. itโs affecting my scholarship too! i had a project to do for that program, and even now, i still have not done it. itโs long over due, and i know there will be consequences out of that. i pray to God that He has mercy on me, that i wonโt get into financial trouble because of that, if He so wills.
my late assignments put me in a state of paralyzing shame because i wasnโt like this, even in high school. i didnโt have a habit of turning in my assignments late in high school, so what happened? it pushes me to lie when i provide a reason, and i donโt wanna keep doing that.
in college, thereโs this unspoken expectation that you should have big dreams and goals, and you should have a drive to achieve them. such goals are not bad for your life, but it is unhealthy if you set unsustainable and unhealthy expectations and rules for yourself to achieve them. even discipline, at the moment, has been DRAINING for me for this reason. it keeps me in this cycle of burnout. i know this, but i canโt seem to make a progress here. iโve began asking myself: am i setting these goals to please the expectations of people, to get approval from them?
thatโs all i can say for now. it would help a lot if someone gets a perspective of whatโs going on with me, because i donโt even know myself. iโve just constantly told God, โiโm so tiredโ because thatโs all i can do. again, please donโt feel pressured to answer. thanks for taking the time to read this! <3
Hello anon! โบ๏ธ
Happy to have you here fam. Put on your seatbelt this might take a while.
Also, very sorry for my 1400 word essay of a response. I'm not fully confident talking about my faith in person yet unless someone asked me or included me in said conversation. I'm growing too even after five years. At first it was like I was outside looking in. I didn't understand the Christian lingo nor did I know how to express my faith but you learn as you go. Some things were hard to believe but I came around, and it made sense while other things still remained a mystery, and I was okay with that.
As someone who went to college last year I know it's overwhelming. I cried during examsโwhile actively studying and praying cause I was losing it and holding together at the same time but I made it. Part of your disappointment may stem from the expectation of having a gap year. It was something you were looking forward to and as nice as a scholarship was; it wasn't in your plans for 2026. I understand an opportunity like this doesn't come for everyone so it was a clear go-to answer.
It makes things feel more like a chore when you didn't initially choose this. Doing things that feel forced overall makes it unpleasant. Classes. Exams. Limited time. It's hard to juggle, and a lot of students go through it. It's a miserable yet survivable experience but it's different for everyone. Not everyone can handle the pressure, nor should they.
I was kind of in a position (interning) where things aren't going as I thought. I was disappointed and it made me not wanna go through with it. It felt worthless. I prayed about it daily, even complaining to God. He answered after a while. My family encouraged me to continue. Reminded me off a goal. My diploma. Nothing big. Now I just wake up, and go to work. I don't get paid but I'm just there for the experience rn. Even if things aren't going the way I wanted; I trust in God that these fruits will pay of that it will be beneficial. Yet, I do hope that it's not in vain, a thought deep inside. I know it's not, the enemy will do everything to disrupt our peace!
I'm glad you learned about God when you were going through hard times in high school. It's like we don't know what we need until Jesus relived Himself. It reminds me of this Bible verse that says God makes a way (Corinthians 10:13) when things get too hard, and you can't bare it anymore.
God gives an escape: He is he escape, the safe space.
Habits are hard to break, it takes time.
That awareness is the first step to move forward. The actual moving is hard. Taking action is something I struggle with too and I've been saved for almost 6 years now. I've changed yes but it's a daily battle to continue walking in faith, continue seeking God, making the right choices but choosing God never hurt me, he helped me as far as can remember. Taking action is a power move to break a cycle or habit. Even if it's a small step in your routine that helps youโkeep at it.
Consistency. And action paired with faith (prayer and reading your Bible) allows us to grow and change. I've seen it in my own life! But it's so hard to actually do, and commit to. It hurts. Not physically. Actually taking action, removing, replacing or avoiding things that you used to do or seemed goodโis a struggle because it even if it was toxic (in my case) it was familiar, and that was comforting.
Yet it didn't make it right nor aid me so I had to make the hard choice to let some stuff go.
As long as your aware, keep struggling. God has given us the victory to overcome these things! You can do it with Jesus. It takes time to kick in (can take years to let go of certain habits or thought process). But it's not impossible, nor does it have to take forever. The more you are willing to do (have to be willing to change or else it won't work) that desire will drive you. As a baby Christian you'll get there! You'll grow but growth can be painful. It took me 3 years to really get serious with God, and let certain things (I knew was wrong) go.
If you're making slow progress or no progress; movement isn't the goal. I think sometimes we can be so fixated on โhow far others are progressingโ or โweโre missing outโ and โwe need to do moreโ that it literally suffocates us. It's easy to loose yourself when your eyes are on everything else. Makes me think of Peter, when the storm came he almost drowned because he was looking everywhere but at Jesus.
Procrastination is so seductive and destructive.
Don't be so hard on yourself. It's a skill to developโto deny the flesh. I still need to re-develop this. We learn to rely on the Holy Spirit! Sometimes we go through hard times for growth, all I know in seasons like this I learn a lot, and there's a reason for everything. Reflect and see where I've gone wrong or how I can do better. It makes us stronger but also I'd rather avoid hard times. The Bible teaches that we can't avoid hardships ๐ฅบ๐ญ its part of this life.
We're not always going to feel like doing what needs to be done but ask God for strength and to help you specifically help with this struggle. I don't always do what needs to be done either cause my feelings can be so overpowering. Lazy, is a thing that I easily settle into. Sometimes getting out of bed and getting ready for the day can feel like a chore but these are all little victories.
Cleaning, excersise, going outside, going to church all these things are good, and needed for living a good healthy life but can feel like too much yet relying on God, and ignoring that feeling of wanting to procrastinate gets the job done. If I know it's good for me then I should do itโeasier said than done. Sometimes it's actually just hard! Our flesh is weak but the spirit is willing. And if we let the spirit lead us we won't be led astay.
We have prayer. We have a functioning body. And people who care, if you do. Seems like you really need a break from it all, not permanently, live! I wish there was more I could do but I can't. I can only lend my ear. As you said you have a schedule, things don't always go as planned (I know that too well) but I pray to take breathers in-between. This won't be forever, it may feel like it now, maybe you just need some time adjusting to figure out your rhythm. What rhythm tho? ๐ฅด (Philippians 4:6-7 โ )
One thing that's helpful is reminding yourself of God's wordโwhat He says. His comfort and character. โDon't worry. It won't add an hour to your life,โ issa Bible verse but I'm paraphrasing. (Matthew 6:25-27 ๐ฅฒ) Your Father in heaven owns everythingโeven if you didn't have college (not saying quit ๐ญ that's your choice) He'd make sure your taken care of either way. And at the same time in Ecclesiastes the teacher says, โeverything is meaningless,โ to add on the don't worry. Like we get a job, study, stress and whatnot but when we dieโnot trying to be morbidโall these things we stress about pass away. Taking a step back I'm reminded that these things are temporary, y'know?
But I get that it won't come naturally, certainly now now. Its your current struggle. It's huge. It feels very heavy. Like give me the solution now. How can I not worry it's all I do?
I think the first step is realising you're in too deep and that you need help.
God is the one who provides said help.
When I was burnout I'd go to Him; crying, praying desperately for a way outโfor routine for change, and He helped me. And because I was so desperate, I was also willingโyou have to want itโnot just with your mouth but with your actions at some point it was made clear to me. Relying on God to give you that desire and will to do what needs to be done cause if you do things in your own strength it won't last and it'll feel too much.
Even with God on our side, things don't always go smooth sailing but he gives us the grace to endure the hardships life thows our way.
In summary:
โน๏ธ Prayer, and staying in communion (relation) with God has kept me afloat. Put God first, if you wanna please anyone, He's our guy. He doesn't expect you to do the impossible, just to come to Him when it gets hard or when it isn't. If all else fails Jesus doesn't. Let God into your plans, make your goals and struggles known to Him before you commence.
โน๏ธ Having a supportive community, and/someone who I can work/study with, who motivates youโsurround yourself with people like that. Maybe even an online group.
โน๏ธ Space. Going outside. Nature watching or reading a book outside. The beach (I'm biased cause it's one of my favourite places, and takes my mind of everything else.)
โน๏ธ Have a small, doable goal. Maybe just passing bad grades this term or finishing an outstanding project in pieces. A realistic goal that doesn't take too much out of you, whether personal, spiritual or educational.
โน๏ธ Try not to compare yourself to others ><
โน๏ธ Know this won't last forever, you will bear the fruits of your labour.
โน๏ธ If it does feel like too much. I hope there's someone you can share it with.
No pressure.
Do what you can.
You're only human.
Overall I feel like you're due a long vacation.
End Notes:
I don't know if this was what you wanted to hear. I don't know if I misread things. All I can say is I see you. I hope I didn't come across as if I were scolding you. I understand you. Maybe not all the way. Thanks for confiding in me. I don't mind. I'm sharing what I think would be helpful and know I'm praying for you. I hope it gets easier! More bearable. Less of a burden. And that you feel like you can breathe again sometime soon.
Feel free to yap more if you want! ๐โโ๏ธ๐
God bless you anon, stay strong, you're not in this alone!
I just realized something and now I can't unsee it.
Ryusui from Dr. Stone and Rengoku from Demon Slayer have the exact same energy and nobody can convince me otherwise!
loud โ
aggressively positive โ
blonde with matching eyebrows โ
both have names with 'R' โ
sunshine personalities โ
ridiculously energetic โ
absolutely passionate about the thing they love โ
If they met I imagine it going a like:
Rengoku gets revived in the Stone world and gives a short introduction blurting out that he's 'the flame hashira' and a demon slayer.
Chrome: *Excited but confused.* Wow! That sounds so bad!
Gen: Orry-say. Did you just say demon slayerโas in real demons!? *smiling nervously.*
Suika: What's a demon?
Kohaku: That's so COOL! You have show me what you can do, Rengoku!
Rengoku: I WOULD BE HONORED!
Ryusui: Demon Slayer you say? *snaps his fingers* I WANT IT!
Rengoku: *beams* [ has no idea what's going on ] I AM IN YOUR CARE!
Sai: You can't own people!
Ryusui: HA, SAYS WHO!
Senku: *with his pinky finger in his ear.* Impressive. Your skills will come in handy, Rengoku. But there won't be any demons to slay in this era though we could definitely use more man power! *cackles like some who's scheming.*
Gen: Well this will be fun *hiding a smirk behind his sleeve.*
