2024 was a big year for me. I graduated with my BFA/undergrad degree, completed my first two independent short films, introduced and subsequently retired and replaced many, many, many, different portfolio pieces, and I am excited to kick off 2025 with even more art. I've already been very productive this month in creating art and working on a lot of different projects, so keep an eye out for those coming soon :) Here's to the new year (albeit a bit late)!
sometimes you find super cool brushes on procreate and just can't resist a little rendering :>
It's finally here! At the end of September I decided I wanted a challenge, so naturally I decided to undertake making an animated short film in just under 60 days. While I didn't keep exact track of my hours on this project, I can say with certainty it's a good 200+ hours of work and love put into this project. I had so much fun with this-- it was truly a rewarding experience. :) Rb's & sharing are much appreciated, and I am excited to share some of the BTS content in the near future!
A quick study I did for the exterior of one of my character Hope's home. The story is set in central Appalachia/eastern Kentucky, and I drew inspiration from photos I took of some homes in the area. If you've been following this blog for a while, you'll probably remember me sharing some of those photos previously. :)
My yearly tradition of drawing a self portrait in Christmas pajamas continues for its third year. Merry Christmas!
A quick sketch I threw together in around 30 minutes from a few days ago. I'm working on getting back into low-stakes practice illustrations now that I'm transitioning out of working on my short film. :)
More BTS content for my latest animated short film! Rough concepts + a gif I created from the final character sheet for Cindy. I would honestly love to highlight my creative process for the film-- been thinking a lot about a zine/art book/youtube video of some sort to showcase the art + thought processes behind pre-production.
As always, reblogs are very appreciated. You can also see more of my work on my portfolio site, here!
Some of the rough concepts + a gif I created from the final character sheet for Curiosity, one of the characters featured in my latest animated short film!

Sneak peeks of a couple of the backgrounds from my upcoming short film :3c I've had a couple of set backs over the last week, but the final film should still be expected very soon! 👀
Short Film Announcement!
For October, I challenged myself to create an original 2d animated short film from start to finish in just one month. Due to some personal reasons, its release will fall short of my anticipated premiere day of October 31st, but while I wrap up some loose ends on the project I wanted to go ahead and announce its upcoming completion! :D You can expect it to drop within the next 5-10 days :) If you are already missing spooky season, you'll love this charming and silly short about Halloween mischief 😈
Coming Soon: Main Street Magic!
More concept exploration from this morning— consider this my contribution to Inktober 🙂↕️
I didn’t realize quite how long it had been since I had posted, but have some doodles as proof that I’m cooking up something really cool for October 🍁🎃
I don’t know much about the world, but it seems like if you take #character art and add it to #studyblr, you end up with #vis dev.
I don’t usually reblog things but this is funny and honestly? Pretty accurate. More art coming next week :)
Did you know I made an animated short film? Here are some BG paint samples I created for the film-- both made in Photoshop (and later brought to life in AfterEffects) These are both stylized representations of a planetary nebula, since my short takes place in outer space ✨💫
You can view my short film on my portfolio site, and I will be posting a direct link to the YouTube upload in its own post once I share all of the pre-production material I want to showcase.
Flexing some of the visual research I did in the process of developing this character pose sheet :) I actually do quite a lot of visual research for each project I take on, but I generally don't post them alongside the designs. Thought it might be interesting to include it for a change!
I posted a black and white version of this sheet a couple months ago, but I thought it would be fun to add the colors since I had already determined a color scheme for the design! I had a lot of fun including props in the poses I drew— maybe I will do some renderings for a prop lineup soon 👀 psst be sure to check out my portfolio site if you wanna see more
