Hob subjects himself to the horrors of modern dating to try to move past his pining and feelings for his oldest friend. He knows that a being such as Dream could not possibly feel similarly. But as each date combusts, Dream and Hob share more of themselves with each other, and Hob is thrown further off balance, especially when he starts to notice a familiar black bird following him.

Thank goodness Matthew is there to tell him what being a plus-one means, as well to help him realize that unbeknownst to either of them, they seem to have been going on a myriad of Hallmark movie style dates. With a new ending to their story in mind, Dream heads to the soirée, but when the narrative presents an opportunity to save Hob from an awful outcome in the date auction, while also revealing his feelings, will he get his movie-perfect ending?
