get to know people tag game
Big thank you to the lovely @dancerinthestorm for the tag! hmmmmm, let's see...
last song: well, in something of a break from the hyperfixation, I've been revisiting my beloved Placebo the last few days, and the last song I listened to was Scene of the Crime live in Europe (somewhere):
currently watching: doing a full rewatch of X-Men: The Animated Series in preparation for another rewatch of X-Men 97 in preparation for season 2 dropping at the beginning of July. For reasons. :D :D :D
current obsession: oh, the usual. :D but particularly a new and compelling headcanon courtesy of @seagull-energy, and my beloved solid-gold French idiot in chief and the rest of the Two of a Kind crowd XD
currently reading: Six of Crows, and I'm really enjoying it. I tried Shadow and Bone and couldn't get into it, but I think it's just because I'm too Old and Jaded and Ace for the Special Girl Discovers She Is Special And Also Has To Deal With A Morally Dubious But Very Hot Man kind of stories these days XD Mismatched Band of Outcasts Form A Family Of Sorts is much more my speed.
currently working on: today, various household stuff; in general, my last Pride bingo prompt 'umbrella', parts four to seven of the unhinged AU AU AU, and book 4 (and the rest) of Two of a Kind
last internet search: I can't remember. Probably something work-related last week.
No-pressure tags to @skatesfullofsunshine, @mxliv-oftheendless, @pureestmeddow, @lithdraug, @acosmodot, @verecunda, @seagull-energy, @verecunda, @writerman, @malkaleh, @0fthelake, @sunshineontherocks, and absolutely anyone else who sees this and wants to do it!
Thank you for the taaaaaggg @nocrompromise-noregrets !!! 💚 I love tag games!
Alriiiight, let's go:
Last Song: Doin' Dirt by Maroon Five - Maroon Five is definitely one of my Childhood-Memory Bands, and the Album 'Overexposed' is right on top of that.
Currently Watching: I've been lazily rewatching Hawaii Five-0 (2010) for the last two months or so, and am currently nearing the end of Season 7. Gosh, I love this series so much 😅 I'm also rewatching the Alex Rider TV series.
Current Obsession: Is it still 'current' if it's an obsession that's been going on for years now? 🤣 Well, if yes, then: The Hobbit (Bagginshield, to be more precise). But I gotta be honest and say that it's been alternating with Hawaii Five-0 and Alex Rider in the last two or three weeks.
Currently reading: Uhhh... I'm reading a lot, lol. I'm halfway through several fics, which I'm not gonna be able to all list here. As for a 'real' book, I'm somewhere in the first third of "The Fellowship of the Ring" 😁
Currently working on: I'm working on two (well, three things):
1) My TRSB fic "The Courage of a Hobbit" from last year (collab with @usuallysublimepenguin) that snowballed into a 115k monster and is still growing 🙈
2) The TRSB fic (from this year; not yet titled), which is about Boromir in a Time Loop - it currently sits at 1k.
3) The beads which I'm making for this year's TRSB event as a first-time participating artist 🤗💚
Last internet search: I researched how much fur of my lil furball I could trim so that she's a bit more comfortable in the heat while without her being subjected to a higher risk of getting sunburn.
No-pressure tags to some of my moots @ilykethehobbit @morbidcorvid @beatles4ever65 @kat37973 @athlai @mordellestories @annarobots @cryinthevortex @rainfeather13 @min-vvulf @letmelickyoureyeballs
If you don't want LinkTree putting your imagery into AI... get out now
Just canceled my account (not that I used it that much). But I won’t permit this. Via @unaminh.bsky.social:
IMPORTANT: For any artists/writers/etc etc, using Linktree to point people to their work, from 5 July, they'll be feeding all imagery you use on your landing page into DALL-E by OpenAI.
…Just so you know.

"Why do you talk so much about being intersex?"
Over 90% of parents of visibly intersex children opt for cosmetic surgery on their infants.
The ones that don't experience medical violence then, likely experience it as a teenager.
I didn't.
I am very rare in that I did not experience medical violence.
Why? Because I learned what intersexuality was as a young age, and I actively fought against what doctors wanted to do to me. All the way down to legal research on what medical care minors can be forced into. I remember walking into that doctor's appointment with the state law written down that proved that if I did not consent they could not do surgery.
That is why intersex activism is important. It saved me and it will save more.

I always reblog this one when I see it on my dash. When someone posts their own art, writing, or music here they are really hoping you will share it.
looks about right
Periodic rent-lowering-gunshots:
Fiction is not reality.
You can enjoy things in fiction that would be awful in the real world. Like playing a murderhobo in a game! In the real world, being or supporting a murderer-thief would be pretty damn awful, while in the game it's just good fun. Same with anything else you choose to do with the pixels on the screen, like kinks that don't affect anyone real, so they're okay in fiction, but would be pretty damn bad in real life.
No one else is responsible for your online experience. They are required not to harass you, but they are not and never will be obligated to not post about ships, kinks, or tropes you dislike just to avoid you seeing them. It's up to you to blacklist words or phrases, block tags, or even block users as needed to avoid seeing content that upsets you.
No one can force you to read anything against your consent. Any content you don't like seeing can be instantly avoided by closing out of the offending post/fic.
You are not owed an online experience free of discomfort.
Nothing that happens in your imagination can ever make you a bad person. Words you write or read about fictional characters will never make you a bad person.
The claim that media consumption influences real-life behavior is intellectually dishonest and serves only to excuse the behavior of real offenders.
Fiction is a safe way to explore horrifying or confusing concepts. Therapists agree that fiction, even (or especially) about taboo topics is a good coping mechanism, especially, but not exclusively, for trauma survivors. Fiction is to adults what play therapy is to children. This doesn't stop being true if the work in question is of a sexual nature.
Sex isn't an inherently worse or better motivation than anything else. A work written to create feelings of arousal isn't dirty, shameful, or in any way less pure than works written to entertain, provoke moral questions, or for other reasons. And worth noting is that multiple purposes can exist in the same story, especially fanfiction.
You aren't entitled to an explanation for why someone reads, writes, or otherwise enjoys certain works, kinks, tropes, ships, etc.

✨ joke ✨

It is meant to be half a joke at least, but Gandalf’s sober expression wipes the inceptive smile from his lips.
Given the fact that Bilbo is canonically such a songwriter, I'm pretty sure the only reason why there aren't dozens of songs about everything and everyone he encountered on his adventure is that after Thorin's, Fili's and Kili's deaths he was too heartbroken to sing. So in an everybody lives AU he'd write songs all the time. He'd write heroic songs, funny songs, ballads, you name it. He'd write dozens of love songs about Thorin. He'd write a funny song about how the dwarves escaped the Mirkwood dungeons in barrels and the elves would frickin love it. He'd write a song about Bard defeating Smaug and Bard gets flustured every time he hears it. Bofur would help him write and compose. Fili and Kili would learn all his songs by heart as soon as they are finished.
