I think people are more disappointed because they literally stabbed Eddie and shoved him into an elevator because everyone was paired off already and they had nowhere to put him so they put him aside until the end of the episode. Him being stabbed impacted literally nothing in the storyline. No one even knew until it was all over. There was no desperation to save him. Nothing.

As much as I make fun of Percy for being down bad from day one what I really love is that he truly thinks this is regular friend behaviour. He’s unleashing his inner wattpad mafia boss for Annabeth, has her picture on his mirror, promises he’d burn down Olympus for her, seems offended there’s ‘another’ boyfriend and thinks it is purely platonic. And the best part is Percy is such a loverboy in all meanings of the world that that genuinely is understandable because he is simultaneously going to the sea of monsters for Grover, having Grover’s picture on his mirror, telling Grover he looks beautiful in a wedding dress, embracing Grover like the husband he presumed missing at sea and being so soulmated to his best friend that they dream together.

everyone keeps saying show percy is moving different, and that percabeth is progressing a lot faster. but i disagree.

in book one, percy tricks and kills procrustes in his own torture chamber mattress store. he beats the god of war in a duel. he kills THE minotaur for his mom.

in heroes of olympus, we get to see percy in other people’s points of views, and he’s scary. the reason percy seems like this in the show is because of the lack of unreliability in its narration.

the reason percabeth seems to be moving faster is because we lose the oblivious aspect of percy’s inner monologue. this is percy jackson as he’s always been, without his snarky inner voice cutting through.

The thing I adore about Camp Half Blood is that bullying is literally their love language. And that is how you know they love their Percy.

Like I agree in the beginning, they could not stand his ass fr, they literally were going "Omg Jackson sybau for once" at any chance. It was only after Titan's Curse that they really started to like him fr (and also let's be fr they were lowkey terrified after seeing him crash out about Annabeth and seeing how angry he could get, bro almost floded camp over a nickname) and they actually started respecting him there.

But even after that, you can always see other campers teasing and making fun of him. Because they LOVE keeping their heroes humble! They need to remind Jackson he's still just some guy to them. They actually love teasing him more after that. They're like "Yeah, ok, Percy, you stopped the appocalypse like 2 times, whatever, we are still going to give you bathroom cleaning duty. What? Can't do it? Lmao loser."

But the SECOND someone else makes fun of him as well, it's ON SIGHT! They're all like "Who tf are you to make fun of our Percy?? He's OUR Percy, and you can never even achieve a smidge of the things he can. Only we can make fun of him gfy."

And they don't only do that for Percy, they do that for all the campers. Percy is ready to throw hands with Clarisse 24/7, yet he will defend her in a heartbeat, AND HE HAS. Thalia and Percy were beefing all throughout TTC, yet she still protects him several times. Every single camper mourned Leo when they thought he died, yet the moment he was revealed to be alive and returned to camp, they were all like "OH MY GOD WE CAN'T EXPRESS HOW HAPPY WE ARE YOU ARE OK! Now stand here as we all take turns slapping you in the face for making us go through that, you freak." Everyone at camp goes "Ugh, Percy and Annabeth are obnoxious" or "Ugh, Will and Nico cannot be more corny", yet for one, they all cheered when they finally got together and even admitted they had bets going around, meanwhile, for the other, they organised a full-on camp picnic to come out and again cheered when they got together. Nico in PJO and HOO is always like "Can't stand anyone in that camp actually," yet he's always doing the most to save it.

Genuinely adore that about CHB it makes the campers seem so much closer. Those are MY annoying teenagers your honor !!

Btw I still think it would be a genius idea to have Thalia talk about Jason in the show earlier, it would be heart wrenching and explain why she is protective of Annabeth. This little girl was basically the same age her brother would've been if she had been there to protect him, from her point of view. Of course she is going to adopt Annabeth as her sister and do anything to keep her safe. Of course she'd crash out when Annabeth disappears like Jason did, and tracks her down to the Cyclops' lair immediately. And potentially crashing out again when Annabeth is taken next season. She won't lose another sibling.

Plus, it would be a nice easter egg for the future series, should they ever adapt Heroes of Olympus.

So are they really pushing Percabeth that hard or are they just portraying Percy for who he is, someone who deeply cares and loves his friends ?

I love how the Disney adaptation of Percy Jackson and the Olympians does such a good job from the outset of emphasizing that Percy might be half god on Poseidon’s side, but every instinct in him that makes him a hero is because he is Sally Jackson’s son.
