this did not age well
here’s a map from November 25 2020
you guys i’m so fucking scared
the pandemic is absolutely thriving in south asia. i’m not kidding. you might think the US is bad, but the situation in countries like india (which literally surpassed the US for the world’d highest single-day increase in cases) and nepal (which has seen a huge spike in cases recently) is genuinely reached horrible new highs. i have most of my extended family living in nepal, and they can’t go to the hospital for non-covid related issues. there’s barely any social distancing, around 250,000 people are homeless and have no access to proper sanitary resources, and everyone is terrified due to multiple conspiracies about the disease that are spreading like wildfire. the government is incompetent and has barely done anything to help people, and desperation is spreading. india is a bigger country with more resources, and is also suffering, but people in nepal, particularly the ones who live in slums or villages, are prime targets for the virus and will receive absolutely nothing from the government. if you are able, please donate to this fund to support children, particularly orphans, who have been left vulnerable by the effects of the pandemic in nepal. they need your help.
Here is a list of more fundraisers supporting India’s most vulnerable during the pandemic
(I am currently looking for fundraisers in Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and other places in South Asia and will update when I find them)
You can donate care packages to Rohingya Refugees, as well as Pakistan, India, Yemen, Palestine, Somalia and Sri Lanka’s most vulnerable here, through the Canada-based non-profit the IDRF.
Donations towards emergency food, PPE and medical supplies as well as support for Bangledeshi farmers can be directed here, through the non-profit Give2Asia.
Here is a minor relief fund organized by the Nepal-based organization the FCSN on GoFundMe: they’re looking for funds to feed migrant workers looking for a meal, and haven’t yet met their goal.
let me just snuggle up with a warm cup of coffee and a good book 📖☕️🍁🕯
Need Financial Assistance
Summary: My sister Sharmaine Ann Flores was diagnosed on Jan 2017 with Primary Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension it’s a well known life time disease. She was 23 years old that time and now 27. We have been providing her medical needs for almost 3 years which is a life time support of oxygen. The oxygen tank last a day or two depending on her condition. We have been asking funds here on tumblr for a year now since I don’t have a job anymore and the expenses is out of my hands. Both of our parents are getting older now and they just can’t provide more for us. So everything is up to me now.
Your Donations go through the following:
Oxygen Tank Refill - Cost 660 php+ 40php transport a total of 700Php A day or two.
Medical Needs, her vitamins and maintenance
Hospital Check ups, follow ups (Monthly)
Our food and house expenses
As time goes by, I am saving up some cash to start a small business here so we can sustain on our own too. All of your help is put in good use.

THANK YOU SO MUCH TO THE PEOPLE WHO BELIEVE IN US AND KEEP SUPPORTING US I CAN’T THANK YOU ENOUGH ALSO TO THOSE WHO KEEP REBLOGGING AND TAKING THEIR TIME TO READ OUR SITUATION GOD BLESS EVERYONE AND STAY SAFE!!
As someone who ran track and cross country for 4 years in high school, this always fucking mystified me the most out of all the insane shit PE had us do.
Track and field club taught all new runners how to properly warm up, stretch, pace, etc. Its a process, and doing it properly takes 15-20 minutes to make sure your body is ready so you dont hurt yourself.
PE didnt do jack shit, they just said "go run a mile" so 70% of the fucking kids sprinted flat out the first lap and basically walked the other 3. Multiple people did it in boots or tennis shoes. I'm amazed more of them didnt pull a muscle or worse in the process.
I dont know what the purpose of PE was, but it sure as shit wasnt proper exercise. And I think a lot of people suffered for that. If they spent the time teaching us about the importance of physical health, proper nutrition, how to safely stretch/exercise, etc, we would all be better off now.
Let's be real, PE exists to shame and torture the fat kids, and for pretty much no other reason.
*Insert that thing with all the people who dread gym*

Are you aware of the current situation in Armenia and Artsakh?
There is a full on war happening that was started by Azerbaijan and supported by Turkey. War isn’t the right word though, a war has two sides. Azerbaijan and Turkey are outright massacring Armenians… again.
Turkey is responsible for the 1915 Armenian Genocide, where they massacred 1.5 million Armenians.
In July, THIS YEAR, the Turkish president said they would finish what their ancestors started.
Please consider donating to the following organizations, even $5 or $10 goes so far.
Armenia Fund www.armeniafund.org
Armenia Support Fund www.armeniasupportfund.org
The Paros Foundation www.parosfoundation.org
My Step Foundation www.mystep.foundation/en
If Azerbaijan and Turkey are not stopped and held responsible for the lives they’ve taken, this conflict could reach far beyond the region.
Please take a minute to do research for yourself, spread the word, and donate if you can.
Whyyyyy are they like this, fucking clowns, I can’t- 😭
Here we go! A gofundme for displaced Hondurans of Hurricane Eta. Please share and donate
I think I would recommend someone else making a better post on this, but seriously, please donate. I'll see if I can find more mutual aid links for the affected Nicaraguans Hondurans.
Indigenous people relief.
Nothing is funnier to me than all of Donald’s immediate neighbors unanimously going “you’re fucking intolerable, goodbye”
I know it’s pointless and no one who reads this blog both cares and doesn’t already know (also, no one reads this blog) but
It’s important to me that people know that D.C. is a major Democratic stronghold—in reliability if not in national influence—has been since the 23rd Amendment gave residents the right to participate in presidential elections, which only happened in 1961.
This is why D.C. statehood is seen as a partisan issue. You might not know it based on the jerks that govern here (most of whom vote in their home states and/or the suburbs in Virginia or Maryland), but the District has historically been heavily Black and not insignificantly queer (this is also the anti-minority “subtext” of a lot of “drain the swamp” calls)
Politically, the place is bluer than a Smurf taking Violet Beauregard to an Eiffel 65 concert. Its hypothetical Congressional representation could make AOC look like Mike Bloomberg.
Once again, the core premise of the Republican Party is “but… if people counted equally… that would be bad for us.”
I just think more people should know that.
i know criticizing the south as being backwards and regressive is all the rage right now, but actually the south is home to some of the most visionary, radical, progressive activists in the whole damn country and yes i will die on this hill. georgia flipping blue is a testament to those activists and hopefully gives you a taste of just how important this work is, and how these southern organizations need our support now more than ever.
people who live in progressive/liberal areas need to stop scapegoating the south and start working with us for our collective liberation. what happened in georgia is great, but it’s unfair to rely on the most marginalized to save us (white people) from ourselves. on that note, hey fellow white people! we didn’t invent white supremacy, but we inherited it. it’s up to us to demolish it, and fall in line with BIPOC-led organizations who are doing the work. you can (and should) help even if you don’t live in the south.
here’s a list of southern organizations doing great work and how to donate to support them.
Fair Fight. “We promote fair elections in Georgia and around the country, encourage voter participation in elections, and educate voters about elections and their voting rights.” Donate here.
Southerners on New Ground (SONG). “SONG is a home for LGBTQ liberation across all lines of race, class, abilities, age, culture, gender, and sexuality in the South. We build, sustain, and connect a southern regional base of LBGTQ people in order to transform the region through strategic projects and campaigns developed in response to the current conditions in our communities.” Donate here.
Gideon’s Army. “Our mission is to act collectively, boldly and strategically as a unified force for all children. We eliminate the root causes of the prison pipeline, save our children from death and incarceration and guide them on a secure path to success.” Donate here.
Free Hearts. “A Tennessee state-wide organization led by formerly incarcerated women that provides support, education, and advocacy in organizing families impacted by incarceration, with the ultimate goals of reuniting families and keeping families together.” (Has also been doing a lot of work recently helping formerly incarcerated folks vote for the first time!)
Project South. “A Southern-based leadership development organization that creates spaces for movement building.” Donate here.
Southern Movement Assembly. “An organizing strategy for community and movement governance…We believe that we are stronger together, and we participate in grassroots democracy to exercise political power at the community, city, state, and regional levels.” Donate here.
Black Voters Matter. “To increase power in marginalized, predominantly Black communities. Effective voting allows a community to determine its own destiny.” Donate here.
The Equity Alliance. “A Nashville-based grassroots non-profit advocacy group that seeks to equip citizens with tools and strategies to engage in the civic process and empower them to take action on issues affecting their daily lives.” Donate here.
if you know of great southern orgs, especially if they’re local to you, please add them! if you live in the south and don’t know of any orgs, i guarantee there is a stacey abrams doing great work near you. get engaged with local efforts for equality!
this is the best nyt headline i've ever seen
