Problem is that you can say to someone "it sounds like you have some biases against trans men and transmasculine people" in the most non-accusatory way possible and if they're a bad-faith shithead they'll turn around and say "the most annoying people in the world are always saying they think I just hate men".

And no, that's a whole different sentence—you've shifted the goalposts from a conversation about transphobia by erasing the trans identity of the people being discussed, & you've engaged in exorsexism by flattening the experience of all "transmascs" into "men". It's not about "men" it's about transphobia & there being a type of trans person who you believe it's fine to talk constant shit about. There is no talking shit about someone's queer identity without leaning into bigotry. Fundamentally, you need to get over your own ego and engage with all trans people as having trans life experiences and being vulnerable, traumatised people with complex experiences of gender that won't necessarily match your own.

Amazon’s super bowl ad where the Alexa mocks Chris Hemsworth for being worried about giving spy software control over his entire life. Waymo’s ad with the intro “the robots are coming!” mocking people who are rightfully extremely concerned about sharing the road with, or riding in, self-driving cars.

What’s fun about all this is that the Democratic Party’s voters do this to themselves. They are just totally incapable of looking at a candidate’s history and refusing to support them because of an established pattern of treachery or uselessness. Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden should both have been absolutely without a single voter willing to support them after 2003, Kamala Harris was blatantly an empty suit with no moral center all along, Democrats apparently just don’t care. (Watch Newsom — he literally invites right-wingers to his podcast, agrees with them on every issue, and Democrats think he’s opposed to Trump because he occasionally says something sarcastic on Twitter.)
