LN1
“lando norris congratulations for your win mate, can you come on formula 1 everyone is asking for you you're the star here (...) no but we are racing we are doing big chaos (...) if you want join us, yep would be cool”
Rightfully people have been angry about the treatment of Maya Weug by Ferrari, but there is still a lot of good this year for women in motorsport.
2026 WIM Wins:
- Mercedes Junior Luna Fluxa podium on debut at the Spanish F4 winter series.
- Doriane tested the W12 at Silverstone. Pin also returned to her roots in LMP2 with back to back podiums in ELMS winning herself the Good Year Wingfoot award in Barcelona. There was also heartbreak at the 24 hours of Le Mans after leading the LMP2 category the duqueine car DNF'd at around 21 hours.
- Also at Le Mans Jamie Chadwick, Genesis Reserve driver and Genesis associated IDEC sport driver in ELMS, made history as the first woman to drive a hypercar at Le Mans when she tested the GMR-001 at the circuit.
- The 'In Her Corner' initiative, celebrating women in engineering highlighted Hannah Schmitz and Laura Müller for international women's day at the Australian grand prix.
- Lia Block is currently leading the ARA championship, becoming the first woman ever to do so.
- Celia Martin made history as the first woman to win a GT2 Europe race. thanks to @meondawebs for letting me know Celia was DSQ'd - I had believed that was a different race apologies WIM lovers!
- So did Abbi Pulling becoming the first female winner of a GB3 race.
- Chiara Bättig, the red bull junior currently in British F4 became the youngest ever pole sitter in F1 Academy history, and was the first wild card to podium in the series history.
- Alisha Palmowski broke her own record of the largest winning margin 48 hours after setting it with a time of 10.995 seconds in the Montreal feature race.
- Lilou Waddox became the first IMSA pole sitter since Katherine Legge in 2018.
- Alba Larsen, Ferrari junior, secured her first podium in British F4.
- Anina Urlaß made history as the first female winner of a Moto 4 Northern Cup race, the first female winner of a moto pathway race since Maria Herrera in 2014. She is currently 2nd in the championship after a series of spectacular performances including going from 22nd to 2nd in BRNO.
- Kayla Yaakov has been on excellent form in Moto America, becoming the first woman to set a supersport lap record, the first woman to stand on the podium at the Daytona 200, and the first female Moto America race winner. She also tested Marc Marquez's Desmosedici GP 26 Moto GP race bike in July.
- Enni Mälkönen, the only woman who win any WRC title, returned to the top flight with Esapekka Lappi on part-time duty for Hyundai World Rally Team in the WRC.
- Chloe Chambers in her debut season in sports car racing has won both her first podium and maiden win in Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America.
Feel free to let me know if I've missed any!

Might be crashing out over F1 fandom transphobia and how easy it is for people to overlook when it’s their blorbo who is guilty of it.
Here is your periodic reminder that Mark Webber is a transphobe and you can’t RPF that away.
Laura Müller, Race Engineer at TGR Haas F1 Team - International Women In Engineering Day 2024
just had to turn this into a graphic... thank you lando
my favorite part about this "kimi is the first f1 driver to have completed his studies" nonsense discourse is how franco colapinto had prepared photo evidence in advance, as if he knew that one day his educational background would be questioned
The thing about people using delusional as an insult or "delulu" as the trendy new term is that sometimes I really want to sit someone down and tell them that I think they're genuinely delusional and that they can get support and help if they're living with psychosis and that they absolutely aren't alone but even the most neurodivergent-positive person will respond as if I'm calling them the most horrible words in existence.
Delusional is a neutral term. Being delusional is a neutral state. When you contribute to the stigma around delusions and being delusional, you are stealing valuable language from people dealing with psychosis and people who are seeking help and support for the things they're going through. And as a delusional person, it really fucking sucks.
I’m currently trying to convince my roommate to seek some help about exactly this kind of thing and the biggest battle I’m having is over the idea that they’re delusional and how they can’t be because they’re not a bad person and why would I say that and it’s genuinely very frustrating because I’m not criticizing them I’m saying “I see you struggling and I want to help”
Yes, yes, this exactly! Like the stigma around delusions and psychosis in general is so fucking bad that even SUGGESTING someone could be experiencing psychosis is seen as an attack on their character, their morals, and their ability to exist around other people. It's such a painful thing to deal with and it means that a lot of people who could be getting help, taking medication, going to therapy, building support systems, finding coping skills, etc are instead just suffering as their mental state gets worse and worse.
So many people are unable or unwilling to get help and live with the stigma and mistreatment and so many of those people end up reaching a breaking point where they hurt themselves or others. So much pain could be avoided if we as a society talked about psychosis openly and honestly and stopped tolerating ableist language that demonizes people just for existing.
"""""eIgHt bLuE fLaGs""""" this is how i know you've watched the race with your fyp instead of your brain and your eyes 😭😭😭 try again!!!! watch the damn onboards!!! carlos's and oscar's AND fernando's!!!! who, by the way, had blue flags for way longer than carlos (who had one SINGULAR blue flag for a total distance of half a corner) and did not move
