i do think itās funny when youāve been into a thing long enough that youāve done all the serious analysis you can do so now youāre mostly just thinking up looney tunes scenarios to put the characters in
looney tunes scenarios which are most importantly still impeccably in-character because of all the aforementioned serious analysis

i love ahsoka tano but i think the fact that she's such an amazing narrative foil to luke was a complete accident on the writers' part
okay
so like at her introduction itās pretty clear the writers were basically just saying āwe needed a new character that wasnāt burdened by canon to carry this seriesā but when you put her in the context of the series as a whole she becomes āthis is what luke missed out on by not having anakin around as a dad for better or worseā and thatās what makes her work, luke and ahsoka both have anakin and obi-wan as father figures but theyāre inverted versions of each other
ahsoka's image of obi-wan is filtered through anakin's resentment
luke's image of anakin is filtered through obi-wan's regret
ahsoka sees the flaws in the jedi order that led to its collapse and thatās why she leaves
luke sees the strengths of the jedi order that are worth preserving and thatās why he tries to rebuild it
ahsoka instantly accepts that anakin is gone because she knows what led him there
luke holds onto the hope of saving him because he doesn't know how he got there
ahsoka's overall arc is about disillusionment and self-determination
luke's is about finding his place as part of something bigger
the basic details and setup are pretty similar between the two but they go in completely different directions
and yeah this all kinda falls apart when you get to live action ahsoka stuff but that's why i think everything above wasn't intended by the writers, rosario ahsoka is a fundamentally different character

you may be thinking that some of the reactions to the tumblr update are unfounded or panicky. but i meant what i said: this will fucking destroy any artist on this site.
for your reference, i tracked down one of my original posts; which had a notes section that looked like this:

holy shit. by my math, that is not even two percent of the amount of aggregate notes my writing actually has. i am not able to see any of the literal hundreds of replies, comments, or tags.
maybe this is a bit presumptuous but i consider myself to be fairly popular on this site. i still remember the first time a large blog "picked up" my work - how quickly all of a sudden i was getting seen. notes on my poetry jumped from like 10 to 300 to 3k. overnight. that was the magic of tumblr, and the incredible writing community i found here.
but now if i answer any of my fellow writers, if i say please go check this out or even if i add additional context to my own work - the artist is removed completely from their own content.
do you want to reply to an "ask game"? do you want to reply to a story prompt? do you want to just make a funny joke with your friends? well, that sucks - you might be depriving them of literally 98% of their notes.
it isn't about clout chasing. it is about giving creators control over their own materials. even a silly post deserves to be connected directly with the person that thought it up.
the tumblr feedback form is currently crashed for me, but when it's up, everyone please go (politely! calmly! like you're walking in a burning building!) tell them what you think. in the meantime: @staff @changes like... i am begging you. literally just set up a suggestion box for ideas on how to monetize tumblr, surely one of us can help you.

Or like actually this kind of shows the success of the code? Obi-wan does not snap and commit revenge killings of innocent people, Obi-wan does not throw aside every moral teaching he has learned, with each tragic loss he does not become possessive of what he has left.
He continues as a Jedi fully entrenched in the light probably because of that Code he adheres to which includes beliefs about what happens after death that are likely comforting to someone who can literally feel the force.
I think he loved a perfectly reasonable amount for a Jedi and served as a counterpoint to Anakinās failure (facilitated by Palpatineās manipulation) to comprehend what danger the Code warns against when it forbids possessive love

The tragedy of ahsoka and anakin is that ahsoka thinks vader is so different and vile and MY master would never do that but the thing is she met him after his massacre of the tuskens like HE DID DO THAT her entire perception of him has always been a lie
