If you could choose a game to live in, what would it be?
Feed your dashboard by answering my question, blogger.
I have many answers to this question.
Roots of Pacha
Stardew Valley
Breath of the Wild (as a Rito, would probably be a Hylian)
Obojima (a DnD rulebook/world)
But mostly Stardew Valley because I refuse to live without modern plumbing.
started playing roots of pacha and here are my thoughts so far
the bad:
the character designs are... pretty ugly for the most part LOL. i say this with affection. but i highly doubt i'll want to romance anyone based on looks alone.
i like the player body types, though i do wish there was more variety. especially like... fatness. please.
lotttts of ashy skintones for the brown and Black characters, which is unfortunate. there's a couple of okay ones, but some of them are egregiously bad.
lack of afrotextured hairstyles for the Black NPCs so far too. why does everyone have straight hair, man! there's a couple of decent afrotextured hairstyles for the player character, but not many (tbh the player hairstyles are kind of ugly in general, but there's ofc WAY more straight/wavy ones)
VERY jarring to see the blonde girl with pigtails looking straight out of the 2000s in this stone age farming sim but i'll allow it whatever. some of the character designs just feel a bit clunky to me.
i don't know who is and isn't a romance candidate yet but like i said, not much interest in anyone... and the ones i do like are uh, all married. as usual. i think this game might be falling into the stardew+co thing of "you can only romance a 20-something year old" but we'll see
the good:
i loooove the farming mechanics so far! having just one tool that does pretty much everything is SO USEFUL and so preferable to having to switch between axe/pickaxe/fishing rod/etc all the time in most farming sims.
the fishing mini game is cute and way less tedious than pretty much every fishing mechanic ever. i appreciate that games are trying to branch out with those these days
the flute mechanic is SO nice. i feel like there's something to be said about the way the game subverts the expectation of like, capturing/forcibly taming an animal; we're making friends with them instead and respecting them and the land in that way, which feels like... an attempt at being mindful of Indigenous practices maybe.
related to the above, the reason i think this is also because (as someone pointed out on a post somewhere on here) the crops we start with are the original/indigenous varieties of each crop. the game also clearly takes a lot of inspiration from indigenous groups' relationships to the land in general (which i wonder if there's room for criticism there; i don't know enough about anything to have an opinion other than an observation of 'they're trying to do this thing/this is what it makes me think of')
i really like the UI and sound design for the game. lots of fun sounds and bubbles; i found the UI a bit overwhelming at first but i got used to it fast.
i like the way you're introduced to everyone with "you know this person as..." and their relationship to the rest of the clan! it feels like a nice way to really emphasize that the clan are all important to one another and interlinked to each other.
i'm only 3 days in so we'll see if i have more thoughts going forwards
I feel obligated to encourage you to check out Azkel if you haven't already
Oh wow that was IMMEDIATE XD And good! Glad he's to your liking, I'm also trying to pursue and marry him XD

So thoroughly nuked that there isn’t even any record of their original blog url
The Forbidden Knowledge
not even any notes. I feel like I’ve stumbled upon a plot-advancing skeleton’s notebook
I’m obsessed with drawing smoke because there’s just something so soothing about it? So here’s a tutorial no one asked for, hope it helps someone!
And when a six-foot tall Persian priestess with a fucking GOLD EYE speaks, you know you damn well listen to what she has to say.
LOOK WHO HAS SOMETHING DRAW. IT IS ME, MY GAY BITCHES.
Finally had a tiny break time.
So…. Anyone still up for golden eyed six foot tall priestess??
Oh, you better listen to her!
i’ll listen to her, give her my food, worship her, do her laundry, and generally be extremely gay
Okay but this is so cool.
This is the earliest prosthetic eye ever recorded, and the surgery was a success. It appears that it was held in with thread and was worn regularly, with signs of infection in the eye socket showing that it had possibly been worn too much without cleaning.
The whole eye was not gold, instead mostly being made of bitumen with the golden lines inscribed into it in a pattern that some archeologists suggest may be an imitation of the sun, the 8 radial outward lines being sun rays, to represent light. There are also hints of white pigment on the surface, indicating that once part of the eye may have been mimicking the sclera (white bit of the eye).
Some suggest that her eye elevated her status, and based on the responses of everyone here, that’s easily possible.
Shahr-i Sokhta (sometimes written as Shahr-e Sukhteh), meaning The Burnt City, is the name given to a substantial Bronze Age walled urban se
Bonus, the eye itself (which resided in the left eye socket):
Reblogging this version for the revelation that this ancient priestess prosthetic eye had a golden sun inscribed on it.
I’m not sure if that’s cooler or equally cool as a fully gold eye, but I feel like people need to know! Especially artists because I want to see that illustrated!
Hey someone suggested I use ChatGPT to figure out adulting today, and as I was going through the mental list of places I'd rather look, I realized "beloved strangers on Tumblr dot net" was on that list.
So if you have an aspect of adulting that you're really good at-taxes, budgeting, cooking, insurance, credit, time management, house upkeep, anything-please feel free to reblog with any tips.
Not me, but @bitchesgetriches has a lot of great resources for many of these topics on their website.

Finally figured out how to permanently disable google assistant on phone
You can't just post this and not tell us how man
Instead of being in settings its in the google app. Also, google, not chrome. Icon is a G, not the circle thing. Click on your pfp to open a menu
From there, go Settings > Gemini > Digital Assistants > Switch to Google Assistant. This disables Gemini, google's AI assistant, and switches you back to the old one. We aren't done yet.
Go back to Settings. From there, we go Settings > Google Assistant > scroll to find General > Google Assitant on/off > turn it off
They really tried their best to make it a pain, but you can eventually disable it. Holding the power button on your phone still pulls up a menu and asks you to turn it back on, but this is the least intrusive you can make it.
Applies to all non-apple phones afaik. For sure Samsungs and Pixels but idrk about others
Edit: thank you my friend @/teeth-kid for confirming that this also works on Motorola
I thank you, my wife thanks you, and as for the reblog chain, that goes without saying.
