just saw a pigeon doing the puffed up courtship dance thing to another pigeon, and as he was strutting around he suddenly stopped for a split second to do a very brief preen-peck at his own side, then returned to the strutting around. and i surprised myself by instantly losing respect for the male pigeon in that moment, like come on man i appreciate you had an itch or whatever but how is she supposed to feel special when you're getting distracted by bullshit like that? which on reflection i don't endorse, i mean those are pretty harsh dating norms i'm imposing on these pigeons, from a total outsider perspective, for no reason. probably not all girl pigeons are as uptight about that sort of thing as i would apparently be if i was a girl pigeon, maybe she even found it endearing who knows, i don't know her. it's none of my business really. sorry pigeons.
trans women who "don't mind topping" or are "fine with having a penis I guess" take my hand
swag if you genuinely enjoy these things but it's staggering the number of trans women I've known who feel this way and eventually realize they need bottom surgery more than they realized. take my hand it will be ok I will still love you
it's scary to go against what people expect from you, and it's scary to accept that you want to summit what seems like an insurmountable mountain but it's ok. I love you. I know you can do it. I can't wait to see the glowing smile on your face
I got a job at a gas station across from a casino and a guy keeps coming in to buy whole cartons of cigarettes and talks in the third person calling himself "snake eyes pete" and every time I tell him his total hes like "tell ya what if old Pete rolls a snake eyes why dont you give it to him for free?" and he rolls the same set of loaded dice on the counter and it does not matter how many times he rolls snake eyes I will not give him the cartons for free he gets so mad
@terreurs :)
ooh thank god
religion is so fucking funny the world is just too beautiful there must be a higher entity behind all this. lets oppress women
I found my coin collection from elementary school and it is so cool. It isn’t worth much but it is vintage American currency. And one 1988 penny. I do not know why that 1988 penny was in there with my Eisenhower dollars, Susan B. Anthony dollars, JFK half dollars and my single Mercury head dime. Still haven’t found the 19th century Victoria penny, that was my favorite.
my bicentennial swag and mercury dime + the random more modern coins I’m sure had great sentimental value to child me but idk why
Woah 😲
I would pay dollars for these coins this shit is cool as fuck
They’re selling pretty cheap online. Most of these are worth their coin value except for the Mercury dime (which is worth like $15) but my dad and grandpa were both really into numismatics so they gave me some interesting coins to play with as a child. The Mercury dime is actually the first coin I acquired myself and it was given to me as change at a restaurant.
I've gotten comments on my writing in the past that I write kids too smart, too aware, too well-spoken, but more and more I realize the cardboard fucking cutout of a non-human entity the ppl around me have replaced their knowledge of their own childhood and childhood friends with and I opt not to take their writing advice.
Can you no longer access your own memories? Do you remember the voracious reader you once were? Do you remember knowing, very easily, when an author was talking down to you? Do you remember graduating children's fiction early and moving onto more mature works? Because you had a mind you were developing rapidly through exposure to new ideas? Like every human being ever born?
I somehow just realized Vulcan and Erid share the same sun.
the author’s barely disguised job they worked in their early 20s
Real Star Wars fans understand that Han is the dog in the Han & Chewie bromance. Fake Star Wars fans will make Chewbacca a dog in earth AUs.
Han is like an extremely mischievous and destructive rescue dog that keeps getting in sooooo much trouble and Chewie is like “Well, that dog saved my life.”
Fascinating how what's considered feminine and what's considered masculine can change over time. The rebranding of being a horse girl into being a stereotypical feminine girly trait needs to be studied.
Look at classic children's novels. As recently as the 50s and early 60s, being obsessed with horses as a girl was depicted as strange and tomboyish, and the very concept of being obsessed with horses from early childhood and loving toy horses and desperately wanting your own horse being a "little girl thing" and not a "little boy thing" would send someone from the 1800s and earlier into a coma.
There's maybe a point to be made here somewhere about how when keeping and riding horses stopped being necessary to the functioning of society and became a more "frivolous" thing, it was rapidly rebranded as silly and girly and for women, but what do I know.
You’ve heard of the Roaring 20s........
now get ready for the Screaming 20s - coming to a decade near you in 2020
is it too early or can we start screaming now
in retrospect perhaps we should have started sooner
this post is the equivalent of a newspaper from the day of the outbreak being blown past by the wind after you wake up in a post apocalyptic world

it bothers me when someone brings up misogyny in shounen anime and people shrug it off with "its designed for teenage boys, what can you expect." like well. idk i think its actually pretty important that shows for teenage boys are normal about women. i mean i think all media should be normal about women but teenagers are impressionable i think we could put a little bit of feminism in the teenage boy shows. it might do some good. you never know.
people will be like "she has blood on her hands" talking about a trans woman and you look into it and you find out that the trans woman in question likes a tv show that op thinks is evil
or she told someone who was harassing her to fuck off, and that person got so upset that a tranny stood up for herself for once that they did some shit like
i feel like its necessary to point out, again, that a lot of the world is going all in on renewable energy. fossil fuels have become bad business. yes, even under profiteering capitalism.
a lot of the biggest investors are not interested in investing in fossil fuels anymore and have been divesting from fossil fuels because its too risky and unstable and destined to become stranded assets that will stop turning a profit. a good portion of the money going towards fossil fuels is from governments (like the u.s and canada) that are propping up these industries with government subsidies. basically, the taxpayer is flipping the bill.
and governments are using the general population's ignorance when it comes to renewables and electrification to convince the tax-paying public to continue supporting the oil and gas industry with this untrue data-defying argument that doing so is necessary and important for the future of the economy.
fossil fuels—oil, natural gas, coal, etc—have no viable future. and its actually going to be economically detrimental to nations that don't take the opportunity to transition to cheap renewable energy sources because energy-hungry industry will go where the electricity is cheapest and the electricity is cheapest where it's powered by solar, wind, and hydro.
