I wrote a master’s thesis on intentionally single people, and the number of them that said in various ways, “I didn’t know not dating people was even an option at first” was absolutely tragic. They honestly thought they had no choice and it never occurred to them that opting out was even a possibility available to them.

People honestly believe these are life experience you are required to have AND THEY ARE NOT.

You can just not have sex. You can just not date people. You can completely by-pass one or both of those things. Neither of those things are required to be healthy, happy, normal, mature, fulfilled, or any of the other bullshit notions that get attached to these things.

Sex positivity is about bodily agency which includes the choice to NOT/NEVER have sex, so inclusion of asexual/celibate/sex repulsed people will always be a pillar of any real discussion of sex positivity and sexual freedom.

I’d die on the hill that “stranger danger” is a deeply unhelpful mentality to have. “Ooooh everyone is out to get me they’re all gonna perpetrate harm that’s actually more likely to come from someone I already know. I better never talk to anyone in my community who I don’t already know, just to be safe. I’m sure there are no other biases interwoven with this mentality” like oh my god human traffickers do not just randomly spawn in every parking lot. You don’t have to go solo hitchhiking across the country but you also don’t have to live in fear that every guy on the street is the knife man who’s gonna get you. Like have situational awareness, yeah. But most of the time the guy on the street is not knife man he’s actually just a guy on the street and he’s probably pretty chill, and you’re driving yourself crazy by living in a constant state of unnecessary fear.

#it's franz matsch after looking at klimt's beethoven fries #luciuuuusss my guy #also if you're in vienna go book a tour at the burgtheater to look at the ceiling paintings #they do tours now because there's restorations going on so you can see them up close #they're done by Gustav Klimt his brother Ernst and Franz Matsch and they're INSANE #they weren't even 25 yet #it was their first big commission and they did it all in 9 months #it's crazy to see such huge paintings when you know how insanely expensive even small artworks by those artists are #also what if i wrote Franz Matsch/Gustav Klimt ff #lucius wolter #gustav klimt: das musical #the tour guide explained that in 2024 there was water damage on one side of the theater and after fixing the paintings #they were much cleaner than the ones on the other side #so they're cleaning the other side too #and realized if they have the scaffolding up they could do tours #once in a life time opportunity #man vienna around 1900 is such a cool era #also the burgtheater generally is worth a visit #it's so big!#Youtube
