I think accepting precedent of the door-to-door is a problem. If the government is allowed to randomly sweep for a particular type of person, there will be an interesting upswell of the number of that type of person.

Agreed. The unfortunate thing is that it is difficult to know just how hard to push back. We have seen what protesting an illegitimate government gets you.

The fortunate (values of fortune sort of a thing) bit is that we are going to have a huge number of deaths and adverse reactions to point to as there is a bloody deluge of them coming.
