Today marks the first day of Pride 2020.
It also marks the seventh day of protests held in honor of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and Ahmaud Arbery. It’s been 634 days since Botham Jean was murdered by a police officer, 233 days since Atatiana Jefferson was fatally shot by a police officer, 2,123 days since Michael Brown was fatally shot by a police officer, and 2,146 days since Eric Garner was choked to death by a police officer.
It has been five days since Tony McDade, a Black trans man from Florida, was shot and killed by a police officer.
At the time of this post, it has been almost 19 hours since David McAtee was shot and killed by the authorities.
This week has served as a stark reminder that those who have power in this country wield it recklessly and violently against Black people, non-Black POC, and trans people. For some, the power is found in their badge. In others, it’s their skin tone, their socio-economic status, their cisgender privileges, or any other number of privileges one can have. In 2018, with at least 26 trans people who were murdered, all but one were trans women, and all but one were people of color. According to data collected by Human Rights Campaign, this pattern is all too common. It should also be noted that the number of trans people who are murdered is grossly underreported, with many families and newspapers often misgendering those who can no longer speak up for themselves.
On June 28, 1969, the Stonewall riots began as a response to the constant police raids of nightlife establishments frequented by the LGBTQIA+ community. That night sparked a revolution, with many eye-witnesses crediting Black and Latinx trans women for being brave enough to ignite what would become one of the most pivotal nights in LGBTQIA+ history. Without Marsha P. Johnson and Sylvia Rivera, there would have been no uprising. Without them, there would be no Pride.
At this moment, it would be tone-deaf and insensitive to commemorate Pride in the same celebratory fashion we usually do. Instead, we’re asking you to make the commitment to better the lives of the oppressed. Do the work to become actively anti-racist if you are not Black. Spread the word that Black lives matter. Spread the word that trans people deserve to feel safe wherever they go. Reblog this post, make your own, or find someone in your life who doesn’t understand and do your best to make them understand. Donate if you can.
The first Pride was a riot. We stand with you.
“ Whenever a Trump supporter asks you to "name one time Trump was racist," feel free to link to this....
1973: The Nixon administration sued Trump for refusing to rent to black people.
1980s: Trump's casinos were accused of hiding the black staff when Trump visited.
1989: Trump took out a full-page ad, arguing for the death penalty for a group of black men (The 'Central Park Five'), effectively putting a bounty on their heads, and plaguing them with a lifetime of death threats. He was sued by the Justice Department for discrimination.
1991: “Black guys counting my money! I hate it. The only kinds of people I want counting my money are short guys that wear yarmulkes every day… I think that the [black] guy is lazy. And it’s probably not his fault, because laziness is a trait in blacks. It really is.”
1992: Trump's casino was fined $200,000 for transferring black dealers off certain tables to appease racist patrons.
1993: Trump said Native American casinos shouldn’t be allowed because “they don’t look like Indians to me.”
2000: Trump ran a series of attack ads against Native American casinos alleging (with no proof) that they were guilty of crimes.
2004: Trump fired a black contestant from 'The Apprentice' for being over-educated.
2010: Trump argued in favor of segregating Muslims in Lower Manhattan.
2011: Birtherism. Trump alleged that Obama was Kenyan based on nothing but skin color. He never apologized nor renounced that claim.
2015 (1): Trump called Mexican immigrants "rapists" who are "bringing crime and drugs" to the U.S.
2015 (2): Trump called for "a ban on all Muslims entering the U.S."
2016 (1): Trump called for a Mexican judge to recuse himself based on nothing other than his race. Paul Ryan said this was “the textbook definition of a racist comment.”
2016 (2): Trump regularly retweeted material from white supremacists and neo-Nazis during his campaign.
2016 (3): Trump tweeted a picture alleging that Hillary was Jewish, or controlled by Jewish people.
2016 (4): The Trump campaign adopted Nixon's "Law and Order" rhetoric which was based in racial fearmongering.
2016 (5): Trump told black voters "What do you have to lose?"
2017 (1): Trump asked a reporter to set up a meeting with the black caucus simply because she was black.
2017 (2): "...some very fine people on both sides" said Trump of a violent Nazi rally.
2017 (3): Trump said people from Haiti "all have AIDS" and people from Nigeria would never “go back to their huts” after seeing America.
2018 (1): Trump called Haiti and African countries shitholes.
2018 (2): Trump referenced the trail of tears to mock Elizabeth Warren.
2019: Trump tweeted that four black and brown congresswomen should go back where they came from. Then attacked Elijah Cummings. Then Baltimore. Then Al Sharpton.
2020: Trump called black protesters "THUGS" just days after calling white protesters "very good people." Then he threatened to direct the military to shoot the black protestors in the street.”-Translate Trump

If you listen to the end of tangled…. Rapunzel and Eugene didnt get married until several years later
same with Aladdin and jasmine!
And Belle was trapped in that castle for months with Beast; I’m pretty sure at least a year.
Also Tiana and her prince were together as frogs for an indeterminate length of time before they married.
Tumblr gets schooled by the Disney fandom
Also let’s not forget Aurora was betrothed (which uhh, was a thing and some places still is).
Cinderella had to be locked in her home away from her prince whilst she knew he was looking for her.
I love how no one is trying to defend Ariel and Snow.
When Ariel was permanently turned back into a human by her father, we don’t know how much time passed between that day and their wedding.
Snow was under the sleeping curse for at least half a year. Remember the lovely commentary animated films used to do? At the end of the film, it states, “The Prince, who had searched far and wide, heard of the maiden who slept in the glass coffin.” Additionally, it shows changes in season. And finally we don’t even see a marriage between The Prince and Snow.
I love this fandom
So really, Anna is the only princess who tries to marry a prince right away
I am so proud of everyone who commented on this
This post is priceless. Way to go, Disnerds!
And wait, WTF. Why are the princesses the targets of derision here? Prince Phillip was ready to marry Aurora after just running into her in the forest. And then he risked his life and fought a dragon. He didn’t even know her real name, he thought she was some random peasant from the woods and he was ready to walk away from his kingdom. Why isn’t he on trial here?
Prince Charming, same thing. He’d met Snow White before, but he didn’t know she was the maiden he was looking for. He literally heard about some dead girl in the woods and was like, “I must have her for my bride.” We’re going to blame that on Snow White? She was unconscious. And aside from singing one song about him, she was kind of wrapped up in her own thing with her dwarf friends.
Jasmine didn’t even want to get married at all for like 90% of the movie. Aladdin pursued her, going so far as to completely overhaul his image to impress her.
Cinderella didn’t ever say she wanted to get married, either. Her Prince dancd with her once, then tracked her down by her shoe size. Again, he was the one who wanted to get married. She kind of just went back to her regular life with a bittersweet memory.
WTF is up with blaming princesses for the princes’ bad judgment?

This post is amazing

THIS IS SO IMPORTANT
To any suicidal followers I may have: This is a sign to not kill yourself. You are loved and the world is special because you are in it. Keep holding on.
Reblog this when it’s on your dash. You will save someone’s life.
“But if you forget to reblog Madame Zeroni, you and your family will be cursed for always and eternity.”
not even risking that shit
scrolled past this, re-evaluated my life, then SCROOOLLLED back up and hit the damn reblog button.
Last comment same thing. Sorry to the next person who sees this. I just can’t risk it. I have things I need to do before my life becomes hell. Lol
It’s a beautiful day! The sun is shining, the birds are singing, and Chris Evans wants to punch a Nazi.
Stop telling me to make friends with Trump supporters. Stop telling me that this is the equivalent of surrounding myself with differing points of view.
I have friends who are black, Muslim, transgender, gay, first or second generation immigrants, sexual assault survivors and more.
They are my friends. I love them with all my heart. I assure you I am surrounded by differing points of view.
Stop telling me that I need to spend time with people who actively voted to make this world less welcoming and indeed hateful towards my friends.
Just stop.
The world right now is NOT divided by “politics.” This is a ridiculously ignorant and narrow minded view of current affairs. The world right now is divided between those who give a shit about people who are not just like them, and those who do not.
I do not have time in my days for the latter.
Trump supporters have actively hurt my friends. Trump supporters are actively causing them suffering. I do not disagree with Trump supporters on “policy” or “partisan” issues. I disagree with Trump supporters on whether my friends are worthy human beings. I disagree with Trump supporters on whether my friends should be second class citizens. I disagree with Trump supporters about whether this world and this country belong equally to my friends as it does to them.
Stop telling me to make friends with Trump supporters.
They are no friends of mine.

Maxine Waters sends a powerful message to anti-Trump supporters
While hosting an open mic reception prior to the Tax Day march in Washington, D.C., Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) had a simple but resonant message about President Donald Trump that she shared with all in attendance.
“We’re going to stop his ass,” Waters said as the crowd roared. Read more. (4/15/17, 2:06 PM)

support asexuals who want relationships. you are not broken. you do not need to be fixed. you deserve happy, loving, relationships.
She was the very first why would she kill her self after achieving such a thing? You’ll never be able to convince me that she committed suicide, as some pubs are reporting.
For someone who cannot swim, drowning is feasible. I do not know if she could or not. I want to read the autopsy report.
