A/N: This is Jason’s POV heehee it’s a part 2 of this
Jason’s angry
Maybe it’s the pit rage, the burning pain of that reviving water forming his erratic anger, he takes a deep breath.
‘Calm down, not yet’
Jason watched the man who he once called father start that stupid gala, it’s his anniversary death day. And the old man is throwing a party, it’s extravagant with many of Gotham socialites and more…
Damn rich people, he hates the rich.
He doesn’t care that it’s in his name, that Bruce is donating to charity and making sure it gets to the needy and unprotected… Joker’s still alive and thriving, crime is thriving…
Jason’s thoughts are interrupted with that damn laugh… he watches from afar from the rooftop he’s on. Green gas filling the ballroom…
Then and there, he makes a decision, grapple hooking and swinging to the building.
This is it, he can just publicly pop Joker’s head off in front of Batman, he perches on a nearby window. While he wanted this to be more personal and dramatic, this is the perfect opportunity-
“You’ve done enough-!”
Jason’s never heard Batman yell like that, even at Dickie- any rogue or even him. His breath hitches, it’s not Batman… it’s Bruce who grabs that purple collar before swinging, erratic and aggressive, not the usual calculated grace he carries…
“My boy-!”
Bruce is punching Joker, every punch accentuates every word, knocking that laughing manic back. Blood staining the floor and a few teeth getting knocked out.
“My son- you took him away-!”
They’re soon on the balcony, Bruce punching Joker as the rain pelts against their skin and clothes. It’s dark out on the balcony, a contrast to the earlier lively vibe of the gala. The laughter fills the empty air of Gotham and her rain skies…
Bruce is holding Joker by the collar… the small glass wall the only thing holding them back from the concrete floor of the sidewalk of Gotham and her bustling city…
“I should’ve done this years ago-!” Bruce says…
Jason almost screams as Bruce falls with the Joker- his body moved without thinking- moved without his consent as he hooks his arm around B.
Jason hears his mentor Dad sob.
“No- please-“
He grapple hooks to a nearby rooftop, dropping Bruce down, his eyes following as Joker hits the ground…
The splat is satisfying…
But the sobs of his mentor Dad aren’t… B was always so calm and collected, so stern and composed.
Jason is conflicted… but he catches Bruce as he passes out…
