I'm actually pretty happy with the trailer. The attention to detail leads me to think the whole show will be as faithful to the books as possible. I get many people are upset because they love the films and the original cast, which I absolutely do! But they're not erasing the films... this is a chance to do the books a little more justice and give the fandom what we've complained for years (and also milk that cow) and so far it looks like they're doing their job right! I hope each actor is able to bring their own thing to the characters. ALSO if you don't want to give money to rowling, just use Stremio. Super Carlin Brothers made a trailer breakdown where they go much into detail, you should check it out.

Although I'm not a fan of authors throwing random facts that no one asked for (either write a new book or compilation or keep it to yourself, you know?) I'll admit... I kinda like this one.

I understand many read Remus as an aro-ace, since canonically he's only been in love once, with Tonks, and as far as we know he hadn't been with anyone before her. I'm not against this interpretation. I think it suits him and everything we've read regarding his character very well.

However, I always read him as someone who hadn't been with anyone before (romantically nor sexually) not out of choice or preference, but because an external factor hadn't allowed him to.

It might be boring to analyze the context and views of the author but I can't help always going back and thinking about the mindset someone born in 1965 England must've had. Hell, my own mother was born in 1968 (different country) and although she's an extremely sweet and loving woman, even she has trouble unlearning certain homophobic and racist behaviours and ideas; some she doesn't even understand why they're wrong.

Same case with some teachers and colleagues, who were extremely ableist until not too long ago. And it's 2026. Imagine writing something with (at least a handful of) 70s and 80s ideals.

Now, with that in mind, I think given how kids react to anything slightly different, I wouldn't be too far off to say that it's probable he had crushes on people but it was most times one-sided/rejected, and he was embarrassed plus didn't have the courage to be open about his feelings. How many classmates have you had that were like this? Or perhaps you yourself were like this. It's not uncommon, especially if you don't fit in and have Loony Loopy Lupin as the nickname you're remembered by.

Imagine being Remus and having a crush on a pretty, smart and kind girl... only to have your favourite best friend have the fattest, never-ending crush on her. You not only suck it up because he's your friend and you're a nice person, but also because of the stakes: if you hurt him, you lose your only two friends. You wouldn't only be humiliated; you'd be completely alone and bullied out of your mind.

And regarding Lily I mean, at first he might only be the awkward guy who you more often than not catch stealing glances at you every time you're in the same room, yet never dared to say hi to you. Later on, he's the awkward friend of your boyfriend, then husband. Sirius is James's best friend so without a doubt he's always been the favourite; he's even Harry's godfather. Peter on the other hand was probably more outgoing and less socially awkward than Remus for Lily to call him Wormy. No mention of our dude by her. Do you like or have a close relationship with all of your partner's friends?

I see why it's more fun and interesting to write him as a (straight) Casanova™ who only is somewhat gentle towards you, or as a sarcastic, occasionally mean and belittling, queer man. But sometimes, people can be complete outcasts; rejected in almost every way and have people think they're losers or not even worth their time. And that as a kid.

When you become an adult you get to sort of start anew, and a whole world of possibilities appear... except you're a werewolf, so as soon as they find that out you're by yourself again.

So yes, you develop a crush once again, but when the time comes that someone falls in love with you after a lifetime of people running away, you hesitate. You push them away because surely they're mistaken; they don't grasp the magnitude nor weight what even being near you implies. Nevertheless, they choose to come back. They insist you are the one mistaken, and beg for a chance. Even then, the walls don't come down immediately. Yet, you never get the chance to feel truly comfortable being loved and loving your partner, because before kissing the love of your life and savor the ending of an excruciating war, death kisses you first, taking away all your pain, and all your hopes.

And that's the angst that I love.

Lord of the Flies by William Golding A character from a fanfic (that I cannot find for the life of me) read out-loud a narration about Simon, and I got HOOKED; when I read it some time later I couldn't let go of it and it still has that effect on me to this day. I worked with it last year with my Seniors and they absolutely loved it! So, full circle?

Love Letters to the Dead by Ava Dellaira Being a pre-teen felt lonely and suffocating; I went into a really deep depression, and this story helped me cope in a way I wasn't expecting when I bought it merely because a character was named Sky lol

Echoes by Danielle Steel First book I've ever read from start to finish when I was like... 14? and actually got me into reading. Antoine and Beata will live forever in my heart. fun fact: for our first anniversary I actually gifted my boyfriend a dog tag with the quote 'Mon cœur à toi', which is the engraving on their wedding ring.

Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen I'm a romantic, what can I say?

Asylum (series) by Madeleine Roux I love a good spooky psychological horror, and the whole concept of university meets old creepy asylum. Looking at the photos while reading the story it's the cherry on top.

my forever favourites have always been:

remus lupin, arthur weasley, hermione, Harry... (that boy doesn't get the love he deserves in his own franchise, and i never recovered from the mirror of Erised's scene) and ron.

Might seem like a boring or obvious choice to go with the three main characters but truly... they're the golden trio for a reason, and I just care so much for them and make me truly so happy 🥺

An honourable mention though to Luna, whom I named my cat after 7 years ago.

One of the most chilling lines I have ever read/heard Moony say. While Sirius explodes at Peter for his betrayal, Lupin is cold and silent. He had just found out that he’d been living a lie for twelve years since that fateful day, Halloween 1981. At this moment, he does not hesitate to perform calm calculated murder. 

Moony has always been the quiet one. I always found that this made him the deadliest among the Marauders… and it’s not just because of his lycanthropy.
