I believe the reason Elsa wears the hooded cloak is that she is now traveling far afield, so she covers her head to avoid attracting attention. I mean, the hood is no longer limited to when she is in the forest; or perhaps this particular cloak is for the new adventure—a long journey to the castle amidst the aurora borealis.

Frozen 3 for the Annecy Film Festival in June and Josh Gad's tease at Disney Toast to TV | Latest Updates

Disney TVA have recently been giving us heads up on what to expect at the Annecy Film Festival this June and Josh Gad has explained why he was laughing with joy in the Recording Studio, which he said a photo of on Instagram last week.

Annecy Film Festival 2026

The Annecy Film Festival slated from June 21st to 27th is expected to share surprises during Walt Disney Animation panel based on the French Festival's website. On X, Disney TVA said the Walt Disney Panel will feature a few surprises besides a first look at Hexed and Tumblr, they mentioned that those surprises are likely more details of Frozen 3 and a reveal to the unannounced 2028 film.

So it's great to hear that we'll be getting more Frozen content as we gear up to the promotional era from this October starting with the said Short. I would also expect Frozen 3 info at D23 too because that's Disney's own event where they can reveal information about their own shows and movies and that will take place, a couple of weeks from the Annecy Film Festival, from August 14th to 16th. So I expect something, be it small or big for D23 too.

Josh Gad teases the script for Frozen 3

Josh Gad attended Disney's Toast and TV yesterday, and teased a little more on Frozen 3, now having been recording his lines for the movie. Based on Disney TVA's X again, Gad said,

“Sad people have to wait over a year, it's ambitious as hell. The dialogue is so good. It's so funny... just incredible character development.”

He mentions that the highly anticipated film is quite ambitious meaning its goal to be a big film story wise, could really be as big as Gad says. He says that the dialogue is so good and funny which explains why he mentioned he was laughing so hard in the recording studio when he posted on Instagram the other day! And the most important thing about this is that he says there's incredible character development. That's something we all want to see but also confused by giving the sisters seemingly reaching their full potential by the end of Frozen 2. But clearly there's more to the overall story and everyone's arcs since we're getting Frozen 3 and 4. And the cast and Jennifer Lee do know these characters well so we have to leave it to them to let them cook as Gad also mentioned they were “cooking” with Frozen 3 in that Instagram post of him.

I want to say how excited I am and how it's building up my anticipation, but I know how optimistically cautious everyone is, as I am too, but I think it will be as big as they say. I mean it's Frozen! We haven't had Frozen for years so this is an epic comeback if it's done really well! ❄️

FROZEN 3 AND 4

My expectations and theory for the core story of Frozen 3 and 4 The story this time will revolve around the aurora or the northern lights. During Frozen 1 and 2, the beginning of the movie was focused on the northern lights or the aurora. Remember Anna's saying: The sky has awakened, so I have awakened.

The current events of Frozen 3, as I said before, will be about the aurora and the northern lights. The problems will come through the northern lights. And that heavenly castle will come from the aurora. Elsa will delve into Atahallan and will reach an ancient secret about the original fifth spirit. The fifth spirit may be originally present in the aurora. And because of it, Elsa will cause a door to open in Atahallan that will lead to the awakening of the true fifth spirit and the resurrection of the heavenly castle from the aurora. And the ancient spirits or the castle guards will come out.

Elsa's source of power was not Atahallan, but the source of her power is the aurora. Since movies 1 and 2 there are hints of Twilight and its connection to Elsa's awakening power. These are my predictions for the source of Elsa's power. I will update you later on about Hans' role in the story.

Seriously when I see this fresco, where there is Anna and Kristoph, the official couple of the Frozen franchise on the left then on the right one of the most classic couples that are Cinderella and her Prince and between these two couples Hans and Elsa who are positioned against if they were an official couple themselves. It makes me smile but at the same time rage.

How can Disney do this at the same time. Put Helsa under our noses and then do nothing about it.

But it's torture at this point. How do you want them to stay without doing or saying anything.

And then look at how Hans seems so proud to be there and Elsa so calm as if it were natural to be by his side. Note that they could have put Elsa and Anna stuck to each other like Disney usually does and put Kristoph and Olaf in the background and not even put Hans. It's still great when you think about it to have this configuration. It's pretty rare.

PS: Does anyone know in which park the fresco is? I had seen that it would be in France but I'm not sure.

Jared Bush says Frozen 3 will surprise people | Latest Updates

In an interview during D23, last weekend in Brazil, Jared Bush, the recently appointed CCO, gave away some teases about Moana 2, Zootopia 2 and the future of Encanto, but he also mentions a bit about Frozen 3.

He says:

“Yeah, yeah, Frozen 3 is coming. And from what I've seen so far [of the film] I think people are going to be surprised. I can’t give away too many spoilers, other than to say that Jennifer Lee is leading the charge and that the story and the direction that she’s taking these characters, what they’re facing, what they’re going to go through, I think is going to surprise a lot of people but it's also going to deliver on everything that people love about Frozen.”

So surprised is the word he uses to describe how we'll react to Frozen 3. That's given because as Jen has said recently that the concept art that was shown during this year's first D23 is just a glimpse of what we could see in the movie. Apart from what we make from that concept we have no clue what Frozen 3 is about and tbh I have to give it to the team for not spilling a single detail about the movie. I know we want to know more but imo I think they're saving all that content for the end of 2026 and into 2027. Maybe a few teases or better insight of the story by the end of 2025, but who knows. Probably also because they're still working on it so whatever they would have told us about the film so far, could have changed and form opinions in our heads about it which they really don't need at this current stage of production. I don't think the cast have even got the script yet as the story is still developing!

Bush also mentions that Frozen 3 is going to deliver on everything that people love about Frozen. Now that's the only real piece of information given - the focal point being on what we want to see. That's what the questions on the first D23 event were about - what we would like to see, what we feel is left to tell. We love the characters, the story, the individual arcs of those characters, the dynamics, the settings, the potential, the mystery, and so much more and so I'll take this a positive sign. That's all of what I make of it.

I know nothing major was revealed in this interview, but I still thought I'd share for those who do take into consideration these little hints and teases. Since Frozen 3's date has been pushed back from 2026 to 2027, most of the content will be given the year of the release and some the year before base done the previous two films promotion (it could be different as this movie is a two parter). I know that's quite long to think about (😭) especially with the honest disappointment that Frozen Winter Festival was not a short film or an official short series but rather just a YouTube series (which is cute nonetheless and good to see they're feeding the younger fans of the franchise), but now moving into 2025 we have 2 and bit years left so we should get more teases in interviews and events here and there.

But regarding FWF, I don't blame them too much because all their focus is on the Frozen 3 and 4 as it is being made back to back, then I'm certain it'll be worth the wait. We can still hope for some kind of Frozen content soon as we do have a couple more years to go so let's see. 🤷🏽‍♀️

I have mixed feelings about A Frozen Heart book. Like, it was life changing book back in 2019, made me go long way back to loving Hans, I actually knew his backstory and motivations from it, I grewn to LOVE HANS AGAIN, because of that book and my 2020 F3 fanfic... but that book isn't actually that good as most Hans fans see it... It has many incosistencies, like once Hans is his real self, caring about Elsa, Anna and trying to be a hero to get out of the fucking abuse, and one page later "He wAntS tO chOke ElSa" and acts like a selfish rude guy... yes, AFH gave us perspective for a real Hans, in what hell he was forced to live in 20+ years, and that's a best thing about it... and also this books covers a topics Disney usually doesn't does in the movies, or even books, especially the Frozen franchise ones. As the first book ever made for adults based on the movie, it was insane, and very, very deeply touching, but I think some things there should be done better, like, Lars being actually silent manipulator to Hans, as this mf is, and showing it openly, or more Hans overall, shown in the light we saw him at the beginning of the book... how should I believe he changes sides in a split of A SENTENCE in this book? AFH is really good covering Hans backstory and his struggles, but very bad at being brave and show who Hans REALLY IS, HIS FULL PERSONALITY + AFH ignores Helsa for baiting Hans x Anna fans.... LIKE THIS BOOKS WANTS US TO BELIEVE, THAT HANS LOVED ANNA, NOT ELSA? That's a hipocrysy... and imo AFH should be 100% Hans book, not the Frozen retelling with 99% time focused on Anna... like, WHY THEY WERE SO AFRAID OF GIVING HANS FULL STORY WHEN THEY HAD WHOLE BACKSTORY MADE FOR HIM? AND THEY GAVE IT ONLY 4 CHAPTERS???? I appreciate the efforts, but AFH is still, wasted potential and kind of shit, when I look at it... and the ending, I REMEMBER HOW STRESSED I WAS WHILE READING ABOUT HANS GOING BACK TO THE LITERALL HELL ON EARTH... THAT WAS MY FIRST STRESS LIKE THAT READING THE BOOK, AND I WAS ONLY 13...

AFH simply could be more brave, and I really hope, that if Hans will get some new content in the franchise, maybe even besides of F3/4 earlier, his story will be more accurate and him focused, than being a simple another retelling of a movie. But there is hope that the next Frozen books won't be retellings, because all the post F2 books now are 100% original (I sound like delulu 2016 Helsa fan I know, I am in this era still). So, I just want to see more Hans, ok? I miss him every day, I hope for maybe 5 seconds of cameo in Winter Festival short, if we ever will discover will it be actually released, because I just want to see him after a year of waiting (OUAS was a blessing for me)
