Ive been thinking about this for a while and come to the conclusion that we NEED more Palm hate??? Like yall dunk on Hisoka for being a creep (which i totaly agree with) but Palm actively took advantage of a child who respected her and at the time was incredibly vulnerable (he was very possibly at the lowest point of his life at that point, he only got worse) to make him date her. And even if it wasnt for long if it wasn't intervened by her simply faling for another man just before she was going to harm (and try kill) children because Gon broke up with her and Killua was trying to protect Gon from her, it could have gotten so much worse as she was very willing to do some very NOT OKAY STUFF???? AND NO ONE HELPED GON? OR MADE HER TAKE ACOUNTABILITY??? Like i too hate the Hisoka glazing, i dont care hes a hot clown its not an excuse, but Palm is like also awfull??? Please stop excusing abusers just because they are hot??? I have seen ONE thing dissing her and everyone else was just chill??? WTF??? It doesnt help that the narrative doesnt treat it seriously at all. Like the whole "cougers" thing also rubbed me the wrong way aswell. To be honest the way Gon's SA trauma is handled is shit. To be honest i dont think ive ever seen a piece of media that handled male SA well and it sucks, honestly most SA in media is poorly done. Long story short if there is 1000 Palm haters im one, 100? Im one, 10? Again im one. None? Then im dead or ceased to fucking exist.
Also this is not to say hunter x hunter sucks. It doesnt, its critically acclaimed for a reason and i do love it. Yet i can still be critical of it. They are not mutually exclusive and i think a lot of people need to learn that
