What the fuck happens that changes these stats to such a massive degree?

1) schizophrenia hardly ever causes people to be violent so schizophrenic people aren’t more likely to be violent than anyone else

2) schizophrenic people’s autonomy is often taken away from them because of their schizophrenia. because the authorities and mental healthcare providers often automatically assume schizophrenic people to be violent, they’re more likely to immediately react to schizophrenic people's symptoms with violence, without even knowing for sure said schizophrenic person was going to be violent. all of this causes schizophrenic people to be more likely of being victims of violence and abuse. schizophrenic people also have a harder time getting out of abusive households because of the risk of their autonomy being taken away. if a schizophrenic person’s relative or partner is abusive, often the schizophrenic person has no way out of the situation, both because our disconnect from reality can result in us being easier to manipulate, and because the system is built in a way that it takes away our autonomy because of our condition.

also schizophrenic people and psychotic people in general, please do a lot of research before picking a provider for your own sake, and if they try to treat your psychosis in a way that you think is harmful then don’t hesitate to switch providers. your safety and wellbeing should be a priority over everything else.

Life's a Snap-Snap:

1: Not that he'll ever admit it, but how much is Bakugou creeped out by Izuku?

2: Do the Addamses unintentionally head off any would-be villains by being so unconventionally kind? (I can certainly see it working for Himiko.)

3: Do any of Izuku's classmates (other than Bakugou) know of the Addams family before meeting Izuku?

4: How does Inko get along with the Addamses?

Life's a Snap-Snap

1) Well, after he told him to jump off a building, and still the boy tried to save him while PRO HEROES STOOD AROUND DOING NOTHING, he begins to worry that Izuku listened to him. He has been very angry about the pros and was working to figure out why it was bothering him. Seeing a new, more confident, fit, and quirk-having Izuku has him COMPLETELY off his game. Not creeped out as much as unnerved, angry, and confused.

Then again, he's not good with emotions, so he will still try to explode Izuku, who has been dealing with actual bombs for the past year.

2) You know, Himiko, Dabi, and Twice? If found, they will be adopted. There is no choice. But you know, Mange is about the only unintentional ones.

3) Momo is familiar with their reputations, as is Tokoyami. Shortly after the Sports Festival Yuga is invited over, he is adopted shortly after.

4) Inko gets along famously with them after an adaption period. She finds herself enjoying Morticia's friendship more and more than her friendship with Mitsuki. Then they have a brunch meetup and a lot of pieces fall into place for her.

The idea of Deku being a part of the Addam's family is very fun to me. He's exactly the same as canon but just has a weird Aunt Wensday who's a little concerned that her nephew hadn't grown out of his smiley hero phase yet.

Todorokis are distant Addamses on their Mother's side:

The Addams Family decides to visit their family in Japan. They didn't visit when Enji married into the family because of a family emergency (the Addams Family movies) and didn't get everything settled until a few years after.

*Learning about Enji abusing his family and driving his wife to insanity in a NON-Addams way*

The Addams drags Enji, upon sensing he DOES love his family, away for therapy, ADDAMS STYLE.

*Learning about Touya's "death" and, learning their lesson with Fester, tries to summon his ghost. When it doesn't work, like it didn't with Fester, they announce Touya isn't dead*

They go hunting in Sekoto Peak, scoffing when they're told he HAS to be dead because all they found was his JAW BONE.

*Eventually discovering Dabi, being more observant than everyone else and noting the family resemblance, the scars HELPING the Addamses recognize him as family rather than hindering them*

Dabi, upon learning they're family on his Mother's side and not holding much of a grudge against her, small hurt feelings aside, tells them his story. Going into detail about burning himself into a coma at the insistence of the excited Wednesday, Pugsley, and toddler Pubert.

"Whoa~" Pugsley breathed upon hearing about being burned alive and seeing the scars.

"I have to admit, I'm rather jealous," Wednesday hummed, Pubert babbling happily.

*Heroes then show up and demand why they are so calm around the villain Dabi, listing all his crimes*

"Not bad," Wednesday applauded, ignoring the gapping heroes.

"I'll say, and can you even BLAME HIM? He's been going through family issues!" Gomez defended. "I would have caused chaos myself a few years back but I was too depressed!"

"...... Would you protest if I killed Endeavor?" Dabi questioned, planning on doing so regardless but feeling curious.

To the heroes horror, the Addamses not ONLY don't protest, they even offer up IDEAS to the villain who's getting more and more stars in his eyes as they list ideas.

*Meeting Hawks and sensing his feelings for Touya*

Hawks, before the Addams can do more than announce the hero's feelings for Touya, starts ranting about how blind everyone is, that Dabi ISN'T ugly, that he's the most attractive man Hawks has EVER laid eyes on, and that if anyone has an issue with that they can TAKE IT UP WITH HIM, the winged hero then flashes his fangs and talons.

The Addamses then start applauding, to the hero's shock. Dabi is VERY happy the scars cover most of his face so that it hides most of his blush.

"Why of COURSE he's a handsome young man!" Gomez announces.

"Most people can't handle our good looks!" Fester agreed with his brother.

"Oh," Hawks replies in a small voice.

*The poor Commission won't know what hit them when the Addamses learn what they're doing to the newest Addams (Keigo).*

The Addamses takes one look at the Mental Hospital Rei is staying in, scoffs, says they can help her better, and has Enji release her.

The Commission captures Keigo, because they found out about his feelings for Dabi AND to get answers out of him.

The League teams up with the Addamses, who absolutely plan to adopt the League as family once they see how much Dabi had bonded with them, to rescue their Bird.

Tomura degenerates the door to the Commission building.

"You have something that belongs to me!" Dabi snarls over the screams.

"We want him back," Tomura and Wednesday say in unison, the villain briefly looks at the girl in surprise.

Himiko takes off after smelling blood, Fester following after her.

*When they find Keigo*

Himiko scowls angrily at what they did to KeiKei and takes a picture, sending it to the others.

"I know, you'd think they'd have a sense of style in how they torture him," Fester sighs, patting her on the shoulder in comfort.

"They didn't even make him BLEED properly," Himiko huffs walking over to check on their poor Birdy, happy to discover someone who thinks similarly to her.

"Tragic," Fester agrees, shaking his head sadly. "Looks like our family is showing them how it's done," he laughs upon hearing the louder screams.

*After they calm him down into letting go of the bar (the Commission had used Keigo's Stress Grip against him. Fester grumbled about how they should have tied him up properly and made it more fun for the poor Bird.)*

"Good news, your wings will grow back!" Himiko happily reported, her and Fester cleaning and bandaging Keigo's wounds.

"Bad news, very little of this will scar," Fester reported grimly.

*When they bring him to the front*

"Look what your precious Commission did to one of your own!" Tomura snarled, angrily pointing to the Winged Hero.

"And terribly, might I add," Gomez adds, shaking his head in shame.

"Sloppy," Wednesday stated, looking Keigo over critically.

Hi, yes, that is the OFFICIAL excuse made to me by the guy replacing the paper tags with digital ones at my local Walmart, but the end goal is to remove the numbers off the shelf entirely, replacing them with QR codes that you have to scan with the app…. Which requires your login information….. and also stores your card information so even if you didn’t use your Walmart account at the physical checkout, if you used a card they recognize, they assign that purchase to your Walmart account purchase history.

I explained very clearly to the manager my issue with the meat section not having the price tags listed, and they claimed it was only going to be for the meat, since meat is by weight, and the price of each item is printed on the packs of each item.

Sure. That’s how they get their foot in the door. Fast forward not even two weeks, and here we are:

Bar codes. No prices, no item descriptions. No price stickers on the individual items. Heck, not even the name of the item that is SUPPOSED to be there.

No. The only way to see the price is to scan it on your phone app, which is also recording what you looked at recently, as a way of gauging what you might be looking for in the future.

So here’s what we’re gonna do gang:

Every time you go into a store that has implemented these price-less tags:

Take 1-3 items up to the cash register. Ask the cashier for the price, or hit the price check item on the self checkout, which will likely call over the attendant.

Express that you didn’t actually want it, you just couldn’t see on the shelf how much it was.

POLITELY, AND WITH A THANK YOU FOR THE PRICE CONFIRMATION, Give the items to the cashier or attendant to put back.

When they inevitably try to push the app, politely decline. If pressed for why not, say you don’t want to have to carry your phone in-hand the whole time you are shopping in order to see how much things cost. (Not having cell service or data to use the app is NOT a valid excuse, as stores already often have complimentary WiFi AND more stores will provide WiFi rather than give up on this push for surveillance pricing)

If it’s a shelf-stable item, the cashier will have to set it aside, taking up room in their limited operating space, and eventually pass it off to someone to put in a holding area to put back later. If it’s a fridge/freezer item, it might have to get tossed due to food product sale regulations.

In either case, you are making it a pain in the ass for them to have these digital bar codes. Tie up the checkouts. Give the employees more busywork that the company has to pay them to do. Hurt their bottom line having to toss the pint of ice cream you carried around in your cart for 20 minutes before giving it back to the cashier.

Yes, call your reps. Yes, push for more legislation like this in more places. But also take an extra minute out of your shopping trip to MAKE IT HURT for companies to pull this shit.

I've seen some people in the notes express (very fair) concern that this is only going to inconvenience already under-paid laborers, and not have any impact on corporate. While I can't speak for every company or every store, I do work in a grocery store and I can tell you this is precisely the kind of thing that would have an impact, especially if people are doing it en masse. Stores absolutely track their shrink numbers, and they do draw distinctions between what gets stolen, damaged, or wasted for other reasons. If people are making it clear that the reason they're bringing things to the cashier is that the prices are not adequately represented on the displays, and rather than improving business it's wasting product, slowing down transactions, and causing confusion and mistrust in customers, that is a language that shareholders speak.

which means there's an entire planet that doesn't know Eridians wear clothes at all because their only exposure to this species is a nudist.

Humans and Eridians meet again one day, and all the Eridians are wearing clothes, and sweaters, and accessories like normal people and the humans have a brief huddle about this before one of them walks up to Rocky (probably much older now) and says, "so, uh. those video logs. you, um, you wear clothes?"

And Rocky swears on his life he can hear Grace laughing at him from the afterlife because they've both just realized that Rocky flashed an entire planet.
